Barb, welcome back! Thanks for the birthday wishes!

 to everyone else.

Workout is done. Wouldn't you know it, handstand push-ups were in the workout today! Our trainer had us weaklings do strict overhead dumbbell presses if we couldn't do a handstand push-up. Even that was hard, since I just abused my shoulders with the handstand practice yesterday. The rest of the workout wasn't bad: abmat sit-ups and some short distance sprints. I did good on my sprints today. I'm trying to make myself run hard the whole time, instead of taking a slower pace. Seems like I breathe like a freight train no matter what, so I may as well try to go faster and get the run over with, I figure.

Meeting up with a friend tonight, for skating. Today will be some yard work/mowing, laundry, the usual. Hope everyone is having a good week so far!

Lori259 07-02-2009 11:08 PM

hey everyone and good luck~2 days to go!
I am up late~having allergic reaction~I am prescribed a lose dose of benadryl for them Because I am allergic to it too.
So I am a freaking mess! I am very allergic to animals and everytime I yardale or thrift shop I get sick from the clothes I guess of those who sell them or give them away that is pet owners.
But I can not afford new clothes right now.uggggggghhhhh.I will proboly be sick for days now!
This so sucks! Its been awhile since my last reaction So I was hoping to continue to avoid them.
I will check back in again soon~take care everyone.

Sorry to complain but I feel like crap.

jamsk8r 07-03-2009 10:27 AM

Lori, sorry to hear that you are sick. Hope it clears up for you, soon!

Well, I don't see me making the handstand kick-up goal. We've just had too many shoulder intensive workouts lately, and yesterday I spent 8 hours doing yard work, without about 6 of that being weedwacking, and my arms are toast today. Oh well, I'll carry it over for the next challenge. Speaking of which, I'd better take a look at the calendar and see what would be a good holiday for the next challenge. Last day at the gym this week is today. They are closed for the 4th, and I'm meeting my friend down at the waterfront. We're planning to skate some, cruise the street festival, watch the fireworks (if I last that long, I'm not as good with the late hours, now that I'm OLD, lol). My boy (12 y.o.) is coming along. Not sure if he will be skating also, or just spend the whole time pretending he's not with me, lol. He's working on perfecting his teenager skills. ;) Well, I'd better get in the shower, and hit the road. Later, peeps!

Good luck all!

Good job SEAGIRL!!!!
Good Job Everyone else.

I am feeling a a little bit better today THANK GOD.
A new number for me also today 192.4 (I am getting so close to the 180's)

Whats the next challenge Jam after this one?
Let me know.

As far as the handstand kick-up I am sure you will be able to do that soon as you heal.
You are a very athletic person and extremely strong to do all that you do!

And as far as The 12 year old~hehehe ~i know how that stage goes.
I have a son 11 & 1/2 And 1 that is almost 9 and my daughter 16 ~it gets nice sometimes when they ignore you LOL!
But other times it sucks.
So I wish you well with all that.
At least your doing somthing with him and he will cherish those times when he is older.Even if he seems to wanna hide from you during the things you do with him.

Take care

jamsk8r 07-04-2009 01:06 PM

Thanks, Lori. I figure that's how it will go, but yeah, sometimes I wish he'd just give up the act and admit he's having a good time, lol.

I'm thinking the next holiday, if we're to keep this a "holiday" challenge, as it has been, would be Labor Day, Sept 7th. That gives us a little over nine weeks. That should allow for some good weight loss goals (for those of you who can get the scale to give you more than 2 lbs a month, lol), and time for scheduling fitness and other performance type goals. Does that work for everyone? If there are no protests, I'll set up the new thread later this evening or in the morning, just depending on whether the boy and I stay for the fireworks tonight, or come home early. We're just going to go to the waterfront fest, and see how we feel after a few hours.

David, glad you went for your walk! Good luck with your weigh-in.

I'm going to attempt to keep the food on plan today, if I can. I'd originally planned to scratch the food plan today, but eating crap food never makes me feel good, so if I can find a decent burger down there, or grilled chicken, with veggies, I should be able to make it on that, along with the snacks I'm taking. I didn't think to buy turkey, which is easier to take along and/or eat cold. All I have is salmon, which won't travel well. I'll take some fruit, yogurt, water, eat lunch before I leave, then just do the best I can if I have to buy dinner at the fest.

hiya everyone!

Well today's weight is 138.0 lbs., if you take my first thing in the morning, ancient scale, weight. 137.5 lbs. if you take my Wii Fit scale's weight. I'll go by the higher weight just to be safe, I guess:( We'll see what it is tomorrow morning. Anyway, it's down .5 lbs. from two days ago. So that's good.
Great job for everyone who's in this challenge!
I have a question... when does the Labor Day Challenge begin? Has it already started?

Chele615 07-04-2009 01:36 PM

I am at 191.8.....not exactly where I wanted to be, but a lot closer to the goal than the last challenge ;) LOL

I'll be looking forward to the next challenge. Labor Day sounds good to me!

Hey peeps, I'll put the new thread up in a minute. Almost midnight here, and the fireworks are still going strong. Sometimes, living close to the rez, where folks can buy all the illegal fireworks they want, isn't so much fun. I just want to go to sleep, already!

Spent about 7 hours at the waterfront today, about 6 of that volunteering at the skating rink booth, skate dancing and handing out coupons for the rink. That went well, but that's a lot of jamskating, plus about 6 miles of walking apart from that, and I am beat! Food wasn't too bad today, but not POP, for sure. I did keep it on plan before leaving home, but had a burger and coke for dinner, and an ice cream, just to see if it would fit in my stomach, lol. It was fun while it lasted, but I'm ready to get back to normal in the morning.

I'll see you peeps on the new thread. Look for the "CC Labor Day Challenge!" thread.
