beach bum Planning meals is much easier said than done. My DH is working part-time at home and what that means is unless our schedules get off from each other we are on the same schedule and eating at the same time so unless I want to spend the whole day cooking I pretty much have to eat when he feels like it. That also means when we eat out, and what we eat is negotiable but mutable. If either of us was working outside the house now it'd be easier but right now I don't have 100% control over when I eat. That is why planning is kind of out. Also when I try and plan everything invariably I do NOT want what I have scheduled. I usually do ok as long as I keep track real-time and that's the only way I can do it. It's just when I get lazy I get in trouble.

Vegaspunkermom Yeah TOM does make me really hungry, but I have been making something that would make all the natural girls here cringe which actually helps... jello made with Kool Aide, Splenda and boxed unflavoured Gelatin. It ends up being 5 calories for a quarter of a huge casserole dish and it keeps me from flipping out and bingeing. I'll probably mutate into something from all the chemicals but, hey, maybe I'll get super powers! I have also noticed that since I have been dieting and exercising my cramps are better. I used to have them so bad 'd have to have a really stiff drink every few hours or I'd be unable to get off the couch for 2-3 days a month. Been MUCH better and so far this round I have gotten away with only one bloody mary today when it got bad.

retiredone Oh yikes... sorry to hear about your mom. That's scary for her and annoying for you.

Rode the bike last night and will before bed tonight too (It's 3:37 AM here and not bedtime yet). I will return to doing weighhts next week after I am sure my shoulder is better.

Not getting any cleaning done, but company was mostly canceled anyway, (YAY!!!). One friend is still coming over and he has seen the place much worse so i don't care. Besides I am cooking so he can deal.
He started calorie counting because I was posting about it elsewhere and he was inspired. He said it was a real eyeopener to see what he had been eating, and has completely changed his lifestyle... all because of me. Heh. So I am cooking healthy low fat Chicken Parmigiana with whole wheat spaghetti and my veggie packed sauce. It's a slightly big meal for me at just under 500 calories but perfect for the boys... and I usually only eat half my chicken anyway... something the cats rather appreciate.

Anyway. I will be glad when TOM is over because I keep being afraid I am gaining. EEK!!!

I have a busy Sunday so figured Id come through early!

Retire - :woohoo: CONGRATS on that 1.5lbs!! Thats so wonderful! I hope you'll never see 140 or above on that scale again!
Im sorry your mom had a bad night. :( Can I ask her age? My grandfather lives out here in Vegas, ever since my grandma passed away in 2002, my mom is always checking up on him, taking care of him, making sure his home is clean, his clothes arent ripped, etc. It really upsets me, because my uncle is in Florida, is very well off, and hardly helps with his father at all. I hate seeing everything all on my mom.
I plan to take ALOT of pictures of James' birthday party. I am obsessed with taking pictures really. Our girls look alot like me, but James also looks JUST like daddy.

Prinny - I think your jello creation sounds perfect. Its better than eating cakes & cookies too! Thats so awesome you've inspired your friend to eat better! I KNOW it feels great! Instead of needing the motivation, you ARE the motivation now! Ive also noticed my cramps have been better during TOM since starting this. Also, TOM lasts a shorter time period & isnt as heavy. I am PMS'ing and mine should be here next week. I was hungrier yesterday, but kept the food I ate GOOD food, so Im happy.

I AM PROUD OF ME!! Last night there was the boxing match out here, and we bought it on Pay-Per-View. A bunch of Eric's friends, including my best friends husband and my dad, came over to have chips, pizza, and beer. I resisted it ALL!!! While I watched 6 grown men eat 4-7 pieces of pizza each, I sat right next to them eatin a bowl of my precious Fiber One. 2 of the guys (my dad and another guy) both said to me, HOW in the world do you have this willpower! I feel so proud! :D

Off to Walmart for a small grocery shopping for us, and to pick up James' big cake, before this afternoon's BBQ I plan to eat right & stay OP today!!:)

Good Morning Ladies:)

Still not going to church, gee!! is been a month since I been there. Some people will think I moved away. Going to call the doctor and find out if he heard any of the results from the MRI yet. This ankle is not getting any better, and the anti inflammatory drugs are not helping with the pain either.

VEGAS-I'm going to use the laundry bag system until my ankle gets better. It was fun tossing the bags from the upstairs loft to the living room and than tossing them into the basement. The next time I''ll have DH bring them up.No I haven't heard anything about the MRI I going to call the doctor tomorrow. I'm not the good cook either. I follow cookbooks recipes, especially the ones that cook meals in 30 mins.

:carrot:BIG CONGRATS on our 1 lb loss:carrot: that's wonderful,your 2 lbs ahead of me.Have a good time at your baby's first BBQ birthday.:hb:

RETIRE-:carrot:Congrats on your 1.5 weight loss.:carrot: Hope I can say that at my Mon W-I.

I thought of that a friend of mine has her washer & dryer up stairs in the spare room. But she told me that I have to have a main water pipe running on the out side wall,we have the water pipes in between the kitchen and bath,so that's not a possibility. Thanks for the idea & thinking of me.

Hope you mom has a better night so you can get some sleep also.

PRINNY-Thanks for explaining your schedule with me I now see and understand. Its hard when you have different schedules. I remember when my DH worked the night shift and I during the day.Do the best you can and that's all that's expected of you.

Good morning ladies

I just wanted to say that I enjoy this thread. I haven't been commenting much but I read everyday.

I didn't loose and weight in April. Today I weighed and I have gained 2.6 pounds. I am not happy about it but I'm not going to let it get me down. I have decided that I will just attack it with less calories in and more calories out.

Thanks for being here.

This is May!!! I'm going to start a May thread. See you in May (albeit a little late).

Thank you for the warm welcome. I have decided to count calories because I want to choose what I eat rather than have to stick with a regime. I have a neat little book that I have had for many years, it actually shows calories, carbs etc. of foods bought at the store and anything that isn't, it must be old because of course almost everything you buy now tells you the calorie count, which is very helpful. I eat home made food rather than packaged so I think it will be quite easy to keep tabs on everything. I noticed here the other day that someone said that 1700calories a day was acceptable because you mustn't starve youself as it will have the adverse effect, I am trying to keep to 1200 but not add in the equation what goes into my cups of tea during the day, 3 or 4 cups at most.

I have a sweet tooth, love candies and potatoes, I haven't eaten either since starting this on Friday. When I get the urger I chew some sugarless gum, seems to be helping.

I can't comment on other posts because I have to spend some time reading them but just wanted to say hi!

I am answering my own post as I am still getting a bit lost on the board, so many different headings, anyway I decided to purchase a digital bathroom scale, as my original one has the arrow that wavers around as you try and see what the heck it says. My initial weight was 192 but it may have been more, on the digital it is now reading 190, I know I have lost a bit of weight since I started a week ago today because my waist measures smaller. Feeling really pleased and know that counting the calories and sticking to a few meals that I like and a few snacks when added together my total is around 1,200 to 1,300 I know I can keep this going. Just wanted to share and would like to add the cute little measure that you all have showing your losses, how do I do that, I would like to add a photo, not of me probably my two Golden Retrievers..haha!!!
