Hello calorie counter. Everyone seems to be melting off the pounds. I'm very faithfully counting and logging my calories on fitday and exercising at least 5 days a week so I'm hoping to see some real progress and get rid of that bouncing 5 pounds.

Dgramie, the baby is wonderful. We were watching him on the webcam the other day and he's getting so chubby. He's breast fed and flourishing. I'm still working on wedding stuff. Today I was trying to finish off the favor bags. I needed ribbon to make the little handles and couldn't get any until last Sunday when we shopped in another town. I have 40 more bags to go and then I'll start finishing the veil which I said I'd do to save a few $$$. We're starting to get the RSVPs back so it seems it is getting closer just knowing that people are replying.

Well have a good day all.

prinny 04-29-2009 11:58 PM

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Generally speaking this is a really bad week. Nothing life-altering for us personally but friends with serious money problems, one whose house burnt down, sick kitties, and other issues. We have had the car issues and over 1K in repair bills this week so we can't even help our friends who are in trouble. Believe it or not, my car's electrical problems came from mice chewing the wires. MICE.

As a result of the bad week I am in a VERY bad mood. Overate by 300 calories yesterday, refused to weigh in this morning and haven't been as good as I should be today. It's also the first time since February I almost said 'f*** it' and went and got something really bad like ice cream. My DH stopped me though and we compromised and had some chinese that wasn't too awful especially since I just didn't eat the rice for some reason.

I also slept funny and messed up my shoulder so that's at least 3 days with no workout. I *might* be able to ride the bike for a while but even standing still hurts so I don't know.

Not doing so good. Worried about money because our reserves are dwindling, all the jobs that are what I used to do pay half of what I used to make and things just seem really bleak right now. I bet I have some brain chemistry making it all worse too, but I just want to hide under the bed till things get better. :?:

Sorry to vent like that. I am just having a bad day and feel kind of lost on how to fix it all.

Good Morning Ladies:)

Can't believe how cold it is outside. We dropped from at 54 degree at breakfast time to a 32 this morning. I glad I didn't bring my winter clothes downstairs for storage.

Hoping to hear from the doctor Fri.-Mon. about my ankle. Its really bothering me today,as we're expecting a big storm tonight into tomorrow.

VEGAS-Hope this ankle is not going to get the best of me, I really like to get back to a full body exercise,as I feel that if I don't start soon, the scale will be creeping up again. Had to adjust my calorie range and bring it down to 1300-1500 instead of my original 1400-1600.Hope you had a great time at the birthday party.

MOM OF FOUR-Thanks,hope that I will be back to my normal life soon. As for exercising it doesn't have to be a reg route just get your self moving is the key. Dancing to some lively music or marching in place when watching TV.Do you have Comcast for your TV supplier, they have exercise tv on the demand, that has great selections. When I do mu videos I like WATP's by Leslie Sasame, hope that helps.

SCALE WATCHER-Glad that your happy living in sunny Fla. Some of my friends are back,as its to hot for them. I always loved the 4 seasons and that's the reason I live on the Cape.

NICKIE ROSE-:carrot:BIG CONGRATS ON YOUR 3 LB Weight Loss and shrinking in inches:carrot: keep up the good work. Glad to here you dd is getting better with each day.

RETIRE-CROSSING:crossed: MY FINGERS that those 5 bounce lbs finally come off. It can be aggravating doing everything right and nothing to show for it.

PRINNY-So sorry to hear about your week.VENT all you want, this is a support board along with calorie counting. Just hold on,and have some faith, the sun will shine thought those heavy clouds that are hovering over your life right now. We all have bad days and we can sympathies with you. Just take a deep breath, and start eating healthy again, and if you can't exercise cut your calorie intake a little.Sending [[[[[[Healing vibes]]]]]]]your way.

Vegaspunkermom 04-30-2009 10:50 AM

Momof - I understand how hard it is to workout with kids. I couldnt imagine working on top of all that. I am going to second Beach's suggestion about Exercise on Demand. Do you have any free on-demand section with your cable tv? I have Cox cable, and do all my workouts free on exercise tv there. It lets me pause & stop, and they change the workouts up every month. Ive lost every pound of weight through ExerciseTV and a set of 5lb. hand weights. No gym, no extra equipment, etc. If you dont have something like that, I am a big Jillian Michael's fan from the Biggest Loser! I do ALOT of her workouts!

Nicki - Congrats on 3lbs! Thats great and I hope your little girl is healing up nicely! Im sure everything will be back to normal soon, and since you lost those 3lbs. Im confident you're doing something right!

Prinny - So sorry about your bad day  I know when things get stressful, our nature is to say "f**k it" & turn to food, but you're above that now. Your willpower and knowing what you know has to prevent you from doing it. Try to do something extra good for yourself to help you relax. Remember TOM is around making things worse, and try to deal with one thing at a time so you arent too overwhelmed.

Beach - I hope they have a real answer for you. I really do. Just think of this as a minor setback instead of a huge downfall. No matter what, this too shall pass, and you'll be back it. ;) Besides I need a buddy to break out of these 160's with me!

I did great yesterday! Im actually proud. My husband made breakfast for dinner per my request and I had 2 eggwhites with veggies & avacado, 2 pieces of turkey bacon, and 2 slices of my new french toast idea (45 calorie bread, egg whites, 1 tsp. nonfat milk, natural vanilla, and cinnamon) and the smallest amount of sugar free syrup. HUGE meal, SO delicious (Ive missed breakfast foods) and it was under 400 calories for it all!

Today my kiddos & I are going to bake some sugar cookies and decorate them. They love to bake, but oddly enough, I dont have ANY desire to eat any of the stuff now. Also, Im planning on doing laundry and cleaning to house. Im going to try to get a cardio workout in.

Tomorrow is my little boy's 1st birthday:D My mom & I are going shopping for his BBQ birthday party on Sunday.

mom of four 04-30-2009 11:04 AM

Just a quick pop in- work is nuts this morning!! :dizzy:

Thanks for the work out suggestions- We just have basic cable, but I've looked at WATP and Jillians' videos...maybe I'll try to pick them up this week.

It's still TOM, but I broke down and W-I this morning....I've lost 2 lbs, my first accomplishment on this journey :carrot:

Vegaspunkermom- that meal sounds great! We will have to try that at my house this weekend! Happy early Birthday to your little one (I miss those days!)...hope the party goes well!

Nicki- congrats to you!! Keep it up (or down lol)!!! :D

Prinny- I say we run away to a deserted island....just kiddin....I hope things start looking up for you soon! Sometimes just taking it one minute at a time is all I can do, life can be a handful!!

WhitePicketFences 04-30-2009 12:13 PM

Oh, prinny. Sorry you have to deal with all that right now. Just try and hold on. You don't have to be ambitious about exercise right now, in fact you might not be able to -- but sometimes just being able to keep a semblence of status quo can be empowering. Not caving in to something you haven't been caving in to, etc.

retiredone 04-30-2009 09:07 PM

Hi gals. I went shopping today and bought huge amounts of vegetables and some fruit. I still have to get more fruit but I did get a small box of Clementines and were they ever good. So sweet. I think they are about the best I've ever had.

So far this week I've done really well with eating. I didn't get in any exercise as such today but I had my mother shopping. I was pushing her in a wheel chair and at one time I was maneuvering both the wheel chair and the grocery cart until my friend finished doing her shopping and pushed mom for a while.

Prinny, sorry things are so horrid for you right now. Sometimes you have to just take a break and take care of life.

I'm hoping I can keep everything going well as far as eating goes.

Catch you all later.

prinny 05-01-2009 04:27 AM

beach bum Hope it's good news on the ankle... er... whatever that would be!

Vegaspunkermom Yeah TOM showed up last night right before bed.

mom of four & WhitePicketFences & retiredone Thanks, yeah it's been a rough week.

Doing a little better today. The shoulder is still sore but I think I can ride the bike later. Made homemade chicken soup for dinner tonight.

Got some of the smaller corsets I ordered. The ones that are a little smaller fit so the ones that are now too big are in storage, the tiny one that should fit at goal is like 10 pounds away from getting it on at all but that's good because if I could get it on now it'd be too big at goal. Having to get extra clothes to fit on my way down is expensive and annoying but I have nothing to wear out dancing otherwise. *sigh*

TOM time, not weighing till after. Just being good about food and trying to get as much workout as I can with the pulled shoulder. Lots to do, trying to get the house clean for company Sunday. Cleaning is a workout right?

beach bum 05-01-2009 09:25 AM

Good Morning Ladies:)

Can't believe that's its May 1st., and we're almost at the 1/2 way mark of the year. We're having a rainy & gloomy day,not going to do much today except take several trips down to the basement and get my laundry done.I decided to use 3 laundry bags instead of baskets and throw them downstairs.

VEGAS-I Know, Its just taking a long time to heal,as I never had problems with my ankle before. I guess patients is a virtue but I don't have that right now, they're so much to be done and and it growing into an over sized monster. Thanks I like to be your cyper buddy by getting to our goals of saying goodbye to the 160's.

Have a wonderful time with your mom getting ready for your little boy's 1st birthday party. I remember those days,36 years ago.

MOM OF FOUR-Big congrats on your 2 lb loss even when TOM is still hanging around.

RETIRE-I love shopping for veggies & fruit especially now that the weather is getting nicer and we have all the fresh stuff from Fla & Cal. I'm looking forward to growing my tomatoes & a few herbs in the beginning of June,as it to cold forr any planting in the month of May.

PRINNY-Glad you feeling better today. Can't wait until the doctor give me the ok to go back to my normal way of living.Oh Gee!!! I haven't worn a corset in years,my poor tummy wouldn't appreciate if I started to wear one now.

Have a great morning, once I see he new MAY chat thread I move this one over there.

Vegaspunkermom 05-01-2009 10:53 AM

Happy Friday everyone!

MomofFour - CONGRATS ON YOUR 2lbs! Thats wonderful, & I bet when TOM is over, you'll drop even more. I usually hold 2lbs during TOM.

Retire - Hooray for all the veggies & fruits! You know even pushing your mom in her wheelchair is exercise, as well as walking around the grocery store. I know it probably isnt nearly what you're used to, but its better than sitting at home doing nothing right?

Prinny - Glad you're feeling better! Ride out the TOM front, and relax, then get back to it in a few days. Homemade soup sounds yummmmm. I agree with having to buy clothes while losing, but at least we get to look better in the end.

Beach - I cant imagine any of my kids being 36, but I can imagine being a grandmother. Odd right? Stay off that darn ankle. Walking up & down the basement cant be good! Here's to us getting out of the 160's!

I didnt workout yesterday. I did clean our entire home, from top to bottom. I was sweating from sweeping & mopping. I figure thats some calories burned right? I did great eating. Im REALLY getting into Cooking Light recipes even more since Tuesday's enchiladas and last night's Lime chicken with homemade salsa & rice were both GREAT. The whole family loved them both, so Im going to meal plan for the week, and make fresh low-cal meals for us all instead of any lazy, processed crud.

Well, today our little man is 1! This was for sure the fastest year of my life. Everyone says it'll only go faster. Its all bittersweet. I want them young, but love to watch them grow. June is both my daughters' birthdays.

I will W-I in just a bit and post the results. I am NOT too confidant, and would usually skip W-I until Monday, but this Sunday is my son's big BBQ, and I want to have extra willpower if the scale doesnt have good numbers today.

So I have a Taylor brand scale and was reading around 3FC & saw MANY women complaining about innacuracy. Then when I took my oldest daughter in for a checkup, I W-I on her Drs scale & was a lb. less with clothes on, than totally naked at home on MY scale. I MIGHT get a new scale this afternoon. Any suggestions?

Alright sorry for the ramble! Have a wonderful weekend!

Novagranny 05-01-2009 11:20 AM

I was going to say Good Morning but I have been sitting here for so long looking at posts that it is now afternoon...I am new here and appreciate being able to join this group and learn what I can and see the wonderful progress that everyone has made. I am in the middle of reading "3fatchicksonadiet" book and it has made me want to take action. I am replying to your post, retire, mainly because we come from the same part of the world and also because my starting weight is the same as your was at the beginning. I hope that I have done all that I needed to do for this post to work, I am not exactly computer savvy. haha!!!

prinny 05-02-2009 02:24 AM

Today has not been productive. I have been very naughty about tracking today so when I finally entered it all in I realized I only have room for a piece of fruit later. Yesterday I didn't do a good job tracking either. The day before I was over I think I just don't want to know. I need to work out and be good or I am going to get an unpleasant surprise after TOM.

I don't see how I can possibly get the house cleaned in time for people Sunday. I am just not that motivated. In fact, I wish we could cancel for a few weeks and reschedule. Totally not into company this weekend.

meh.

beach bum 05-02-2009 09:46 AM

Good Morning Ladies:)

Look like we're going to have another damp and miserably day.Suppose to rain all day,and it not good for my aching bones.

VEGAS-Time goes by fast and before you know it the kids will be that age. Enjoy them while they are young.I found out a better way to get laundry down, put them in 3 laundry bags, and Leo will throw them down the stairs, and when the laundry is done I just fold, and put them in the bags and bring the bags upstairs. This was it won't be to hard on my ankle.

VEGAS-Your new way of cooking, and the family liking the meals is a plus, and I'm very proud of you and congrats for changing to low fat & omitting the process entrees. Before you know you'll be out of the 160's eating the healthy way. I used to subscribe to the Cooking Lite & Family circle Magazines than I had too many mags and though out the the cooking light when I switched to low carbing diets..

NOVAGRANNY-Welcome to the thread. You'll find the ladies very supportive here and lots of info on calorie counting.

PRINNY-You must plan you meals better. This is what I suggest, start off with 3 meals & 2 snacks by dividing your calorie count into 5 and using the amount for each meal.Add more protein and good fat along with high fiber foods that ill help you & satisfy your hunger.

Have a great morning

Vegaspunkermom 05-02-2009 01:01 PM

Good Saturday to you all ladies!

Nova - Welcome to the group! Here's wishing you fast, easy weight loss & much willpower along the way! :D

Prinny - TOM can be a real downfall. Although since losing a bit, I have more energy around that time, it still isnt nearly what Id like it to be. Also, Im ALWAYS more hungry before & during TOM. Im sure you'll feel better when TOM is over & you see some bloat gone from the scale.

Beach - Im so happy you figured out a better laundry method. I think you should have your husband bring UP the folded laundry bags as well until you're better. Did you ever get those MRI results? Thanks for being proud about me cooking meals. Honestly, Im a HORRIBLE cook, but recently I realized I need to have my family eat right as well (even though the kids arent anywhere near heavy) its about being healthy. Im hoping to get a Cooking Light subscription for mother's day, if not, Ill order it after that myself.

I W-I yesterday and am at 165. Thats only 1lb. lost this week instead of the 2 I was shooting for, but what do I expect when I have been busy with other things instead of exercising. Ill take what I can get, and keep at it. I refused to be discouraged.

The baby had a good actual birthday. We met up with my mom to buy food for his birthday BBQ tomorrow. For myself, I bought those Oscar Meyer reduced fat 45 calorie hot dogs, turkey burgers, fat free Pringles and wheat buns. There will also be ceviche, fruit salad, and a veggie tray. My mom is going to eat the healthier things with me. I plan to have a little of all of my healthy things, and no cake or ice cream.

Have a wonderful day everyone, Im off to lower my ticker with a smile! :)

retiredone 05-03-2009 01:11 AM

Hello everyone. It's almost 2:30 am and I'm still up. Mom is having a rough night thinking she's dying (she's not!) and she's crying for the last hour or so. So that means I'm up...sigh...some nights are like that. I just gave her something to make her sleep but it might not work if she's too agitated but it will make her drowsy so she may calm down some.

I weighed in this morning and lost 1.5 pounds. I'm so happy about that. I'm actually 140 now so that means I'll break into the 130s this week for the third time this year. Hopefully that will be the last time I see 140. That how it goes sometimes. I have only about 10 pounds to go to goal and it's been harder than losing the first 50 pounds. But I'm determined to lose more before DS's wedding in July.

Hi Nova. Glad you've joined us. Come and post as often as you can. It really helps to read the posts and also to post even if you don't do personals. Some of the girls are really good at replying back to everyone. I'm always amazed at their ability to do that so often. I noticed you're a few inches taller than I am. I'd love to have those extra 3 inches. But then I'd see the dust on the top of the frig. Guess I'll stay where I am. :D

Beach, some of my "older" friends have moved their laundry room upstairs to a spare bedroom. Of course it's arthritis that they suffer from and other age related problems but a bad foot is just as bad when traipsing up and down stairs. Glad you figured out how to get the laundry down. Hope that foot heals up soon.

Vegaspunkermom, Ditto on what Beach said about the little ones. I was just looking at baby pictures of my soon to be 30 year old. Our new grandson looks just like his daddy. I hope you took lots of pictures of the birthday party. You'll treasure those in 30 years time.

Glad your feeling a bit better Prinny.

Mom seems to have calmed down. It's even later now and old, old b&w reruns of the Twilight Zone are playing on TV. Time to have a short nap before it's time to get up again. Catch you all later. ZZZZZZZZZZ
