Jams: I checked out the pics.. They are beautiful. I have two rotties. They are the most affectionate dogs I have ever had. I think they wish that they were small so they could curl up on our laps. They try to now and OMG are they big!

madridguiri: Take a deep breath and today is a new day. Go out and work it!

Barb: How was the date?

oakeyson: Congrats on the year!!!! I am almost at 7 months and it excites me with every new month I start OP. In the past, I have only made it to 2 months OP. So I think that is a huge landmark!! Congrats again! Oh... and 96 lbs!!! That is awesome!! Soon you will be to the 100 mark!!! It makes me sooo hopeful to see someone else making it a year and 96 lbs down! Thanks for sharing!

Well...we are expecting 9-15 inches of that white stuff tonight into tomorrow. I am sooo sick of it. Spring get your $#@% here already!!!! Today I am going to eat OP (at 1800 cals), exercise, visit my MIL and celebrate my hubby's birthday. We are going to a japanese steak house. Hopefully I will eat mostly veggies with a little chicken. He wanted a chocolate mousse cake and I may take a crumb of it and feel the pride that I didn't eat a big fat slice! Oh how I love CHOCOLATE MOUSSE!! Wish me luck and will power!
Have a great Sunday everyone!:):):):)

I am down two pounds today to 197.4!!!! I was glad to see the scale move down :)

Hattie - we're also supposed to be getting that wonderful set of storms tonight into tomorrow night. Our area of Mass is supposed to be the "isolated 15+" region. Fun times! But I'm already banking on a snow day for tomorrow, so that will be nice at least.

 FB!
:hot: :flame: :flame: GOAL BABY!!! :flame: :flame: :hot:

Okay, I'm calm now. You made my day, though! Just one more. Yeah, that zombie dream was messed up, lol. Last night I was up late watching crossfit videos of coaching sessions, then did my workout. Then I dreamed that I was working out at crossfit and that I got my handstand, lol. It didn't seem as scary in the dream. In real life, I'm skerred of falling on my head.

So, last night, I did some skills practice, cuz I'm crazy nervous about taking that Crossfit class, like what if my squat is total crap, or something like that, lol, then I practiced some overhead lifts...those are hardest for me. Before my workout, I decided to give the pull-up another go (on the apple tree, cuz we don't have a pull-up bar). I can't get it "strict", but I got a little higher than before, and it definitely is a big improvement over last year, when I could not even lift myself up at all. I got my shoulders a little higher than my elbows this time, so I'm getting there!

Barb, I have tried on the weightlifting gloves, but they're all padded, which to me made it harder to grip with. If they had some that were just leather, not padded, I'd try them, but haven't seen any like that, and the bike gloves all seem to be padded, as well. I just end up drying my hands a lot, too. I've seen people use chalk, but I'm not sure if that's just to keep hands dry or what. Glad you had a date with dh. Sorry he picked the cheesesteak place, but from his secrecy, it's obvious he's trying to be romantic, so try not to be too mad at him. He'll figure it out eventually, lol! You can always do something like skip the bread/cheese, see if they have veggies or salad, like even sandwich toppings, you can get a sandwich and load it up with onions, spinach or lettuce, tomato, etc, then just use a fork to eat it off the bread or have them hold the bread and cheese and just give you a plate. I think that if they have anything resembling some basic real food ingredients, you can work with that.

Gonna stop here, since it's half a novel already. Will check on the boys (my boy has a friend visiting) and check in on my next sit-down break.

I have been busy all day cleaning out closets.I have walked about 15,000 steps today.I found my weights in the closets.
I have eaten good today so far.
Everyone have a great day:carrot:

oakeyson 03-01-2009 05:18 PM

FB - congratulations at reaching your goal:carrot: Reward yourself with something nice

Nicki - I have the 30DS and it is a killer workout. It is short though which in a way is good. I just got the new one from JM banish fat and boost metabolism. I heard it it is like the 30DS but about twice as long. I have not tried it yet and I am afraid I will not make it all the way through since the 30DS was hard enough.

madridguiri - forget it and start new. I have found if I dwell on a bad day I continue of eating in a bad that day also. It is a bad habbit to get into. Don't sweat the gain since it is TOM.

Sorry to all of those getting Snow. It has been a long winter for me also. I can finally see a little grass but I think we are expecting more snow on Wednesday. When does Spring get here?:dizzy:

Barb - Congrats on the 95 lbs:carrot: I know I can't wait to hit the 100 lbs mark soon. Celebrate every accomplishment. I got gloves recently. I went on the advice from my trainer and got the more expensive leather ones. They were not padded and work great. My hands were always too sweaty and I was afraid of dropping the bar.

Congratulations Shawna.

I thought Feb was going bad but when I did my weigh in today it was 7 lbs down for Feb. I did well yesterday - stayed within my calorie allotment and did an hour on the treadmill. For 20 min I lowered the incline to 9 and increased the speed to 5.0. That was rough but I finished it off with incline of 15 and speed of 4.1. Today has been going well so far. Light workout day on the Wii Fit plus some core and upper body. Maybe tonight I will try the new JM video.

Guiri, don't sweat it. What was it, a pound? Fluctuations are totally normal throughout the day, day to day, all the time. TOM I've gained 3 or 5 lbs for the week, then it comes back off, it's just fluid and stuff. It's your wagon. If you fall off, it stops and waits for you to get back on. NBD, baby, shake it off!

madridguiri 03-01-2009 07:36 PM

Thanks everyone for the support. I know it's just a pound. I'm just (maybe) the most impatient person in the world. I'm happy though that I'm not trying to lose too much weight. I am always amazed at the perseverance and positive attitude of everyone that has lost (and is losing) so much more. Mad props.

FB 03-01-2009 07:52 PM

Jammy - I believe you're over thinking the CF class. The beginner classes likely won't be filled with Crazy Cheryls who dedicate so much time to fitness. They'll likely be beginners - and you the hero (teacher's pet?)! You have already busted your tail doing CF at home for awhile, do you really think the others had that drive? Most people don't - they pay to learn it. You are a proven fitness MacGyver and that's rare.

Shoot, I can't do a pull-up. Not ONE. I'd consider it my mark of being fit if I could. I've said I know I'm at my version of goal when I can. Most people can't do a pull-up and the ones who can are rightfully proud. I'll bet that the people in the class who CAN do pull-ups are the ones who had to retake the class, failed the first time.

You'll knock their socks off. Strut your butt in there and be the cocky girl you know you are. You'll show them!

Barb - You had to feed your machine anyhow, so it sounds like a good compromise, he tried, right? Bad food BUT activity. D&B can be really fun. My hubs used to take me there, back when he was fun and trying to win me.

I wear gloves because I like the way it makes me look. Sort of a dominatrix in the gym look. I wear my padded biking gloves that are kind of gummy. It helps me because I don't want callouses - that would snag my satin PJs I wear when eating bonbons. I did bare hands for a long, long while and find my grip is better with them.

There's a pink pair I have my eye on. I want them!

madridguiri - Patience is the biggest component in losing weight. Forget motivation and excitement - rely on patience, power of habit (& developing those habits) and dedication.

Thanks..I could use that too!!! :high:

That half pound I lost last week came back this week. Drat that cake. I'm glad this is the 1st of March. I ate well and got in a bike ride today so that bodes well for the remainder of the month.

mygritsconfessions 03-02-2009 11:35 AM

Hi Everybody -

Sorry I have been MIA since last Thursday, but we were cooking for Daytona Bike Week. We don't go back until Thursday for 3 more days.

You said it Hattie - patience make all the difference, because if you get emotional over it and then eat, well then your dealing with another pound! LOL

I haven't done great because of being totally off schedule with the cooking and working 10 - 12 hours. Hopefully the 3 days I am off now I can refocus.

Check in later.

nicki rose98 03-02-2009 12:47 PM

fb incredible girl!!! congratulations!!!!! that is absolutely awesome

I'm doin okay. Not going up which is good. Still at 195.5. But that's okay because it's still a 5 lb loss for last week!!!!

oakeyson 03-02-2009 01:13 PM

I woke up this morning to a surprise snowstorm. I heard late last night that we may get some light lake effect snow in Milwaukee but I woke up to 8 inches:?:. Everyone was shocked. It made the drive into work a pain. Plus it is still snowing. They say in total we are going to get 15 - 18 inches by this afternoon. We have 12 inches already so I bet we will hit the 18 inch mark. Stupid Wisconsin weather.

For my 1st weeked with 3FC I did better than expected. I stayed OP the whole weekend although it was rough to do so. Usually on the weekends I eat more and don't make the best choices. Usually I gain a lb or 2 on the weekends only to lose it by midweek. This weekend I lost 2 lbs:carrot:. I am not sure how that will affect the rest of the week. We will have to wait and see.

cammieb 03-02-2009 01:20 PM

Thank you everyone for the welcome :)

I wasn't as good as I could've been this weekend, but I did okay, and I did learn a lesson from my "Chinese food mistake" this weekend, and I still lost a pound. Only 10 more pounds to go for this challenge! Woot!

I love that quote, by the way. It's so true.

Hope everyone is having a great day.
