Default How am I doing?

Since I am short, I find that I need to restrict my daily intake to very little food/calories in order to lose weight. Here's what i ate today:

2 apples -160 calories
one big bowl fruit salad (watermelon, cantalupe, grapes, strawberries, pineapple)-don't knw how many calories, not on label, i bought the salad
1 yougurt dannon light and fit raspeberry - 80 calories
veggetables with cheese sauce from one of thoze frozen bags 45 calories/serving-I ate about 5 - 200 calories + a bit of lean turkey sussage - more or less 100 caloriesil soup - this was leftover so not too much really-about 100
half of container (250 ml) lent
one small cup orange juice
1 l water
1 bottle diet coke (20 oz)-trying to get rid of this, I used to drink up to 2 l/day, so not too bad

Honestly, it feels like I ate a lot.
I'm trying to stay away from sweets and breads (I gained weight by eating junk food from wendys and such).

How am I doing? Any suggestions as to how to improve? Thanks so much. Ideally, I need to eat 1098 calories to lose as per one site I checked.

Hi!

The "general rule" is that a person shouldn't go below 1200 calories a day for an extended period unless on a medically supervised program. The reason is that one can't get enough nutrition without supplementation, and it really needs to be personalized and monitored medically.

I tried adding up what you ate, and it looks like it's below 900. Yikes. And also, there doesn't seem to be much protein.

How about trying to spread some protein throughout your day? For example, you could have lowfat (2%) cottage cheese with the apples. And tuna (water pack) is a really good source of protein, is low cal, and is readily available. Also, whole grain bread does not have to be the enemy, as long as you stick with 1 slice per meal. Pepperidge Farm 12-grain is what I like.

At the top of this forum is a Sticky Thread that has frequently asked questions. You might want to read that to see what a better calorie range would be.
