ok I think in about six weeks I would like to lost about ten pounds and stick to walking three to four times per week by New Years'
  • Welcome to our new challengers!

Everything is going fine in my part of the world, staying on plan and getting my exercise in. I was pretty stoked yesterday at Kohls - I needed a new pair of jeans and the brand I fancied must vanity size their stuff - because I bought a size 8. I don't consider it a REAL size 8 because I haven't tried other brands in that yet. But the FAKE size 8 is fine with me. I've been walking around muttering size 8 repeatedly, my husband is convinced I've lost my mind.

But, to further confuse myself, I've always worn and liked this brand. Even at a tight size 22.

I cannot believe US Thanksgiving is next week. Crazy! I'm happy because that means it's time to doll up the house with holiday decorations. I love that. Every year, after Thanksgiving dinner, I delight my husband (who has gorged himself all day and can barely move) at around 10 p.m. by asking him to go up into the attic to get the 10 ft. 160 pound tree and 10 or so totes of tree decorations. You'd think he'd expect that by now. I cannot describe how funny it is, he secretly thinks it's funny too - he tells me every spring once the rage has passed.

Only this year I'm thinking of doing a real tree, I wonder if the tree farm is 24 hours? It wouldn't be right to do it at a normal time.
  • this sounds like a great challenge! Im in! Right now im at 189.6 as of this morning and id like to lose an average of 2 lbs a week and we have 8+ weeks so that could be a 16 lb lose but ill say 10 just to be safe with the holidays and fluctuations. so id like to be 179.6
  • scales are stuck but i am eating op. I know it will move in time!! really need to up exercise but for this week moving my daughter will have to count as my exercise.
    hugs
  • WOW it sounds like everyone is staying OP quite well.

    Welcome to everyone new.

Dgrammie, I know what you mean about having to up the exercise. I do to, but I know I will get there.

Today was weigh in day, and I lost another 2#'s it makes me feel so good. Next week will be a challenge for me. I have decided to eat what I want for Thanksgiving, but do it in moderation, and only for 1 meal. I think maybe Thanksgiving being the day before weigh in, it may help me to stay OP better, so that I don't totally mess up my weigh in. I am going to my son's house so I don't have to worry about dealing with leftovers tempting me.

  • Hey all, and welcome to our new challengers!

I'm staying OP with the food. The scale is not budging on a daily basis, but my weekly average went down, so something must be coming off. I'm thinking maybe my arm isn't fractured after all, but maybe just had the mother of all knots in it from pruning, then was probably just bruised and whiny from getting whacked on the skating floor. Doesn't feel crunchy anymore when I move my wrist around, so I'm thinking a muscle was just cramping and pulling and making things rub together that shouldn't. I'm putting rubbing alcohol on it a few times a day, to help those muscles relax, and taking tylenol once in the morning to keep the pain down. Much better, but I'm still taking it easy, just in case my expert medical opinion is way off. Here's hoping, though...I'd love to be back to normal sooner rather than later!

I'm trying to just stay OP with the food, water and exercise. Food, I'm doing great. Exercise is better than before but could be improved. Water is pitiful except on skating nights, when I drink my whole day's worth in one skate session, lol...I'm not sure that counts, though, so I need to have a better plan for drinking some water all day long.

Okay, got some decluttering to do today. Trying to get the front room cleared and cleaned up, so we can drag the Xmas boxes down from the attic. FB, funny about doing that at 10pm! I say go for the fresh tree, also. We've been getting fresh trees from our local tree farm for years. It's a great family outing, the boy will love it! The blue spruce is my favorite, though I can't always afford to spend that much. I like supporting our local tree farmers, too, since they are a small family farm.
  • suprise...i loss when i stepped on the scales today. I am down 1.4lbs for the week. I have lost 3lbs this month.. Not great but not bad either.
  • Jams I only count on a weekly basis, and going down weekly is what counts, Congrats on your weight loss.

Dgramie, Way to go dgramie, I think everyone is doing great with this challenge.

  • So far I'm on track to say goodbye to the 300's by New Years. Everything has been going pretty well so far, I have a little stress this week because of homework but it hasn't sabotaged my eating, yay!

  • Just checking in with a 1.5 pound loss for this week.

dgramie the month's not over for another week. Bet you'll have at least 4 pounds gone if you're careful Thanksgiving.
  • Retire, Congrats on the weight loss. You are doing great.

    Wilma
  • Congrats to everyone that's lost weight this week! You guys are doing fantastic!

Wish I could say the same, but this past birthday weekend really didn't go so well for me. I was up 2.4 lbs today! Ack!

Oh well. All I can do is carry on!
  • Hey challengers.

I'm staying OP with the food, except for last night, we went to do the walk-through at the park...it's a preview of their drive-thru holiday lights display...there was free hot chocolate and little sandwich cookies, and a candycane, lol. It was fun, and not freezing once we got walking. About a 2 mile walk, so I figure that burned off one or two of those cookies. (at least, that's what I'm telling myself!)

The arm is healing, if slowly. It feels almost normal during the day, but by the end of the day is sort and crabby, so I'm still trying to avoid lifting with it, and not spending too much time at the computer, typing. On that note, I'm off to do something useful. Pressure-washing my sister's driveway today, but just waiting for the sun to thaw things a bit before I hit the road.
  • I'm at 140 right now. 135 would be good.

Three weeks, four days, 18 hours, 41 minutes and 17 seconds. 515 cigarettes not smoked, saving $167.56. Life saved: 1 day, 18 hours, 55 minutes.
  • 6.6 lbs down and about 9 to go to say good bye to the 300's in 2008!
