Default Anyone doing the Fiber35 diet?

I've been counting calories for awhile now, about 5 weeks and I came accross this book at a book store. Anyway, it's still all about lowering your calorie intake but also getting a minimum of 35 grams of fiber each day to boost your health and weight loss. Did you know you burn 7 calories per each gram of fiber you take in? doesn't sound like much but just 35 grams of fiber burns an additional 245 calories a day! I was excited about that so I started this plan yesterday and would love for others that are on it to join me here or tell me their experiance on it

I would like to join you. I'm living in Ireland now, but when I lived in the US i would try to get 30-40 g of fiber a day. It was easier there because there were a lot of high fiber breads/wraps. I love eating fiber! Here it is not as easy. How will I get 35 g of fiber a day?! What does the book suggest eating to get that much fiber?

I haven't heard of this book, but when I'm really on the ball, I'll end up with 40 or more g of fiber a day. I always try to aim for higher fiber foods. My boyfriend got me going on that.

Oh fiber is our friend - do it! I've never heard of this diet but I get between 30-60g of fiber daily and it does make you feel so much better

Tigger the book also states you can use fiber pills, wafers, powders, etc too. Last night I had to eat 5 wafers to finish up my 35 grams for the day but they are really tasty and yeah I felt wonderful all day yesterday! So the plan is to limit your calories, no less that 1200 a day though (straight from the book) and get in a minimum of 35 grams of fiber in a day Sounds pretty easy right?

Spryng you inspired me so much I bought the book of amazon and it only cost .01 cent (3 euros with shipping). Hooray! Now I can eat a lot of fiber with you lol. Just checked, today was a regular day and i ate only 25 grams of fiber, but I'll get to work. I bought some chickpeas and I'll start adding those to the wraps i eat at lunch.

Oh just so you know my favorite high fiber food is quaker instant high fiber oatmeal- it has 10 grams of fiber and 160 calories. I love it! My lovely boyfriend had agreed to ship me a couple boxes of it because I can't buy it here and can't find it online. Does anyone know of a way to buy quaker high fiber oatmeal online?

Aren't most oats grown in Ireland? What do people usually eat there? Barley has lots of fiber, too.

I find it's really hard to get 35+ grams every day when limiting calories unless you eat Fiber 1 cereals. I always got at least 30g a day, but I didn't know it burned more calories. Good to know!!

eat your fruits, veggies and whole grains and trust me, you will get more than 35 grams of fiber each day without a supplement.

Wow, so great to see so much response to this plan!
Tigger that is awesome that you bought the book off of amazon! it really is informative, you'll learn the plan itself and all about the differences in soluble and insoluble fiber which I found really interesting
Zoe, you are right if you eat veggies, fruits, grains etc you will go over 35 grams a day but the hard part is staying in your calorie range while doing it so the supplements help me tremendously

Will you guys keep me updated on how this works out for you? I am too overwhelmed with work/school to make any changes right now, but I want to hear more about it. I think my friend read the book, cause she's on a fiber kick. The only way I could get that high with my calories is with supplements, but I know nothing about them or what's good etc. Anyone wanna educate me? (Yes, I'm tired!)
