sweet
Welcome, we always love to have another with us.
Grammy
As you could notice in the one pic of me I have really long nails. They have gone with me through working in warehouses, trucking company's and tennis with my daughter. I swear by sally Hans ( I think that is how you spell it ) hard as nails with nylon ( it has a slight and only slight color to it not really a color but not clear). You don't want color when you are trying to grow nails and harden and strengthen them. There is stuff in the color polishes that weaken the nails.
Still
You take it easy and don't try to do to much. If you can afford it stay home from work. You need to rest and get better.
Tammy
We didn't get to much here just some rain. I love to watch lightening storms lol.
Tinky ~ I do love turkey burger. I buy the 93/7 because the 99% FF is dry to me. I make sure I either grill it or cook it so I can drain any excess fat off. I just the like the flavor better. I also make my sausage recipes regularly. What seasonings do you use on your burgers?
Welcome Sweet. We can use all the posters we can get and I look forward to getting to know you.
Shy ~ I have difficult nails and that is good to know about the Sally Hans stuff. I thought the nail polish thing was my imagination but when ever I use it my nails are just destroyed. They are thin, the peal and are bridle. Very frustrating because my DH likes me to have nails. LOL! Sounds like its a marriage condition but its not, he just thinks they look nice. I refuse to get fake done because I did that for a year and ended up with super thin nails that hurt. That oil that I bought I think was by Sally Han also and it seems to be working.
Well I better get going for now and I will talk to you all later.
Well I am off my fine friends. I am going home and hopefully I will be left alone tonight. Last night I went grocery shopping, took groceries home only to turn around and come back to town to take GS to the doctor, then got home to take YDD to her BF house. I finally got to sit down for a 1/2 hr to talk to DH before going to bed.
I had to take DGS to the doctor because of a lump on the back of his head. I think its a mosquito bite but DD doesn't think so. They were unsure of what it was but gave him antibiotics from all the mosquito bites he has, they were worried about infection. Dip (DD) took them to the park with no spray on them and they ate him alive. The PA said that he must taste really good. LOL! The other thing it might be is a cyst that will need to be cut open to drain. YUCKO!
So I am off and hopefully I will find the time to get my pony out and drive around the front yard. He is well enough to drive now but the rocks on the road still hurt his feet so I try to keep him in the yard. The only reason I took him down the road with my GS is I had his feet wrapped and I am out of wrap.
I am going to try what sounds like a yummy dinner and I will let you all know how it turns out. I have a few other recipes to try also for this week.
well everyone one of my boss' (I have 3 of them, one in my location and 2 at the other location) well one from the other location saw me today and mentioned that I must be losing weight......He said I know you have lost quite a bit of weight, you look real good. I mentioned that yes I lost about 20lbs and I was back to where I was when I started with the company. He said that I even look smaller than that..lol SO that was an odd, yet nice complement!!!
Shy, I remember when our son was little, he and my hubby would stand in our family room and watch lightning storms. Hubby did that so our son wouldn't be scared of them.
Nails. OH my. I seem to always have trouble keeping them looking nice when they do get semi-long. I had hoped to have them looking nice for my niece's wedding this weekend, but no go.
Still, way to go on the compliment!!!!! Doesn't it make you feel good?
I ran into some teachers that I worked with that I hadn't seen since I retired last year, and one of them yelled, "Hey! There sure is less of you!!!" I think the classes are helping me tone up more than I think they are.
Today went pretty well. I didn't get the chance to exercise but I plan to definitely do so tommorrow. I have to change what I ate today. I wish I could preplan what I eat and actually eat it but that never seems to workout the way I want it. I was out and ended up eating a salad at mcdonalds. then I came home and has one of my moms dinners. I still have to figure out how many calories was in that as well.
My legs have been really sore from doing lunges and such. I could barely go up the stairs without them aching!
Sweet-It is real hard when you first start to get used to pre planning and sticking to it. It took all of us time and we dont always get it right (Trust me!!)
I am at work again today....I made it through the whole day yesterday....and plan to today also. I am sure my DR would freak out if he knew I was back already....but I figure I sit at a desk all day...that is better than sitting at home....
I have a NSV to share. I went to JC Penny last night and decided to see if it was true whether I am down another size. I am!!! I got into 10's! Woohoooo!!!
I am so excited. That means the next time I go down a size, I will be in single digit land!
GrammyL- My spark name is the same as here Tinky009. I like to keep things simple. LOL! I use a combination of things, sometimes I put Mrs. Dash Chipotle with fresh minced garlic. I play around with my spices and combos. The possibilities are endless. Oh the Chopotle seasoning is so good on Fish. I make a fresh salsa to compliment it and it's just divine. I hope DGS feels better and that lump ends up going away with the antibiotics.
Still- That is always nice to get complimented. Looks like we're in the same boat, well sort of. I went to my bro's work last night and he was telling me that his co-workers were complimenting how much weight I loss. LOL! I didn't think they would notice with the many customers that go through Sam's Club. Wow you're back at work. Well take it easy and don't over do it!
Tammy- I am also trying to keep my nails nice, they are nice and long and a coat of paint will make them shine. But in the past they've broken. I hope they can stay until the Fourth of July weekend. When we have a wedding to go to too. Man there sure a lot of weddings this year.
Sweet- Hi welcome to the gang!!! I always tend to estimate off of people's cooking. I look forward to getting to know you!
Still, I am going to call your doctor and tell him!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tinky, congrats on the smaller size!!!! I agree with you about the weddings! We have 3 in the next 4 weeks, and then there is another one in October. That's all that I know of, but I kind of wonder if my nephew and his girlfriend might suddenly decide to get married. They've dated forever!
Aerobics class was good today. I didn't stay for the water aerobics class because we had a woman coming to the house to give us an estimate for some things we need done. She called and said she couldn't make it today! That was after I was already home and had missed the class. Disappointed!
Tinky ~ That is fabulous news about the size 10. I am doing my best to follow in your shoes. Despite TOM I finally lost the pound I gained from starting and another. Finally down to 181 and hope to be down to 179 by Monday. Determination is finally setting in. It is amazing how deep I am having to dig to get moving again but I was sure glad to see that number for the first time in about a month. I will try to find you in Spark. I did a search with no success yesterday but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough.
Still ~ What a wonderful compliment. Keep up the good work and I am amazed your back to work already myself.
Sweet ~ Still is so right, it takes time to learn how to plan and sometimes even the best laid out plans fail. Just make the best choices that are available and be proud of yourself because you made a healthy choice.
I was telling Tinky, I am so happy that I lost the pound I gained from starting TOM and another pound to boot. I am down to 181, still hoping for 179 by Monday. Really feeling the determination coming on.
I went for a 30 minute walk so far today but need to do my sculpting and want to get at least 15 more minutes in. I love going for walks and its nice outside today. I have a beautiful campus to walk at because I work at a University. HEHEHE! They have to do all the work and I get to enjoy it.
Well I better get going and get some work done. Talk to you all later.
Tammy- We have a couple of weddings and engagements to attend to too! And our own of course. LOL! Thanks, I really didn't think it was possible to get into 10's but it is! LOL
GrammyL-You can do it. I want to see you leave the 80's. I am also determined to get to the 50's by the time we leave for California which is next Thursday. I also need to focus on staying POP, but since TOM came this past weekend, it's wreaking havoc with me. I will email you my link too. Just in case you're still searching.
Ok, gonna change my clothes and get ready for my morning hilly walk.
Tinky- 1 more size down is GREAT!!!!! Soon you will be in 8's!!! WOOOHOOO
I think I could probably pull off the 8's now, but it would really depend. I am not going to shop until I get out of the cast...so SEPTEMBER!!!!! But by then it should be a safe bet that an 8 will fit. Since my 10's and 12's are falling off..lol
Tammy- Please dont tell on me..lol I would go nutz at home all this time.....at least here there is a reason for me to NOT try to do so much...at home there is too much work to do so I wouldnt get any rest..lol So I am resting more here than there.....
I really used to like old style aerobics classes..they were FUN!
Grammy- I have that same nail problem. I should get some oil and a buffer like you....at least they would look nice.....good luck!
I love to walk too. Especially when the scenery is nice...sounds like you have a beautiful place to get lose in your thoughts while walking.....(I'm jealous!!!)
Still ~ The oil seems to be helping my nails and it is something I really struggle with and it makes me feel good when I even have any length. Odd I know. Another thing that seems to be helping is I started using Oil of Ola anti aging cream in the morning and I make sure my nails get a good coating of that. Not sure which is doing the most but if it takes both I will do it.
Yes, I do have a beautiful place to walk and I need to take more advantage of it and take different paths to see all the beautiful flowers. We have a "campus beautification" project that has been going on for a few years now. Each year they choose an area and beautiful it. I wish they would get the fountain turned on in the pond, I love walking past that but they don't have it on and the pond is getting yucky.
We also have some very interesting buildings that are fun to walk through. The newest has beautiful wood work and the one before that has all polished cement floors. Then the really old buildings have amazing wood work, ceilings etc. Then of course there are buildings like ours, BLAH! No pizzazz and either look very academic or hospital like.
I would go nuts sitting at home myself. I would see every spec of dust and have to clean it. During the summer I try to stay outside as much as possible and just do the basic cleaning. I am an outdoor person and go inside long enough to clean a little, eat, sleep and get ready. OH and go potty unless the leanto is more available. LOL! Just kidding for the most part. I have had to use it in emergency situations where the house was just to far away and I wasn't going to be able to make it.
