Hello Ladies! What a difference a day makes! I am feeling much better today. I have been able to get quite a bit accomplished since I didn't do anything yesterday.
Tinky, I'm not sure about buying the whole system. That's alot of money to spend. I did take the little quiz, and I am a B, whatever that is. lol
Valley, I can relate to the back problems. I have arthritis in my lower spine. Some days are worse than others with it.
Shy, no gain is great!! And about 60 pounds gone is wonderful!!!
Still, be careful on your 5 hour drive. Keeping you in our prayers!! We'll look forward to hearing from you.

Well... I've been counting for about 2 weeks now and have lost around 7 lbs. So I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. This thread seems like a great place to get support and tips.

Welcome April!! You have done great with the 7 pounds!!
-
Hey guys! Since calorie counting is my main method of weight loss, I'm joining you guys. My plan is to stick to 1,200 - 1,400 (the absolute max) cals. a day. In 4 days now, combined with 45 min. daily cardio, I've lost 1.5 lbs. Here's to hoping!

Hey all! The weekend seemed to be about right for me, I am ready to go back to work. I find it that at work I have more control over my plan. LOL At home I have too much freedom.
Still- I know you probably won't be reading this for while, but I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Speedy recovery, and good luck with everything.
Tammy- It was a pretty pricey program, that's why I opted for the payment plan on HSN. I needed it because I need a lot of discipline. It has payed off so far.
April- Congrats on your 7 lbs!!! That is great motivation to keep at it!!!
Rachel- Good luck with you journey. It's nice to meet you.
I had a NSV, I got into pants a smaller size. I was as JC Penny yesterday after lunch. I told DF that I wanted to go put some new pants on and see where I am at since my current pants are loose. He cautioned me since we just had lunch, to maybe not do it. Well ha, he was wrong I was able to get into 12's, with room to wiggle. I bought a pair, and now that I broke them in, they're getting loose. So I am not going to buy too many new pants, and just take my friend's hand me downs. LOL! People have been giving me clothes that are too small for them.
Ok, have a great day everyone!!!

Valley, I hope that you are right about feeling better with the loss. I was weird. When I was at my heaviest, I had less back pain. Go figure! Even the doctor told me I was "different". lol
Rachellia, good luck on this journey! Make sure you don't go below 1200 calories though. Ok??
Tinky, have to agree with you about the freedom at home. I'm retired now, so I have lots of freedom. I had a friend who used to give me clothes too! It was wonderful. I felt like I was always wearing something new.
For now, I think I'll just keep doing what I've been doing, trying to keep between 1700-2000 calories a day. For my size and age, I've been told 1800-2000, so if I get to 1700 I feel I'm ok. I'm still doing the aerobics class in the mornings 3 days a week. It is an hour class. We do alot of weights in the class, so my arms are definitely getting stronger. Today I started a water aerobics class that starts 40 minutes after the other class. It was interesting. I have been doing water aerobics for a couple years at the Y where I live. The other one I drive about 10 miles. Anyway, I am probably the youngest in the class at 53! Compared to the class that I take during the rest of the year here, this one is pretty mild, so I'm going to be stepping it up some. It's funny because in the 8:00 class, I'm one of the oldest, and I have to tone it down for me. Oh well! As long as I'm working out.
The sun is shining today, and so far no rain! We had nasty storms last night. I know of areas that lost power, but we were fortunate. Take care everyone!!

That is so great. We both feel better today. Today is a brand new day for us to do what we can to become the healthy people we want to be. You are doing terrific. All the exercise you are doing is so good for you. I bet you are toning up great.
april
Your doing great. It is amazing how well the body responds to eating the required amounts of those four basic food groups and exercise.
I say: This isn't about weight loss. This journey we are all taking is about eating in a healthy manner and exercising. The side effects of those two things is weight loss.
Rach
You are doing terrific. Make sure those calories count for you and you are getting all the required amounts of the four basic food groups in. I know I find there are days I have tons of calories and fats and carbs left over from what I allow myself and I have to find things to eat lol.
Tinky
That is terrific about the smaller pants size. The very reason I love good will lol. I am not going to spend big money on a pair of pants that isn't going to fit very long. I stood in the dressing room and cried when I decided I wanted a new pair of pants and every 12 I tryed on had wiggle room lol. Ok, so todays 12 is yesterdays 14 but I still had wiggle room lol.

I would love to have time to read but I don't. Work has been hectic for some reason, I think they forgot its summer break. Then we had a funeral to attend on Friday. DH is going in to have his thyroid killed tomorrow so I will be gone tomorrow, which means tomorrows work had to be done today. What a rat race. I will be glad when DH's problems are all taken care of and he goes back to work so I can have my old life back. LOL!
Eating wise I am still struggling and I know its because my life is turned upside down right now. My girlfriend (SIS) took a turn for the worse yesterday and I am eating my emotions instead of facing this thing. Today I am back on track and hopefully stay that way. At least I am losing what I gain each week so I am staying steady but that isn't good enough, I want a loss.
Well I have to go pick DH up from work so I will talk to you all later.
-
well I've actually been doing pretty good lately with both exercise and counting. It's been way too humid though to exercise outside. I tend to mix weight training and walking/jogging together to get where I want to be... I will try to check back soon to see how everyone is doing!

Shy, hooray for feeling better, right?? I was just at Goodwill the other day looking at stuff for my son's apt. this fall. I didn't even look at clothes because I knew I would be there forever!!!
Grammy, I'm with you on wanting a loss. I hope things will be back to normal for you soon.
I can relate to the stress eating. My hubby had bloodwork done last week, and the liver enzymes are more elevated than they were in March. We see the liver specialist on Friday. did I already tell you all that? I am trying to stay positive.
April, did you have a cooler day today? It was so nice here. Cooler, no humidity. Love it!

We have three good wills or thrift stores here. There are three more at the place I go down south. I spend hours at those places. Sometimes I find a ton of stuff. Sometimes I can spend 3 hours trying on stuff and find one shirt lol.
Grammy
Sorry things are so hard for you right now. Will keep you in my prayers.

Hi Friends! Boy are we sure having some ugly weather today. It was so beautiful and sunny out, but not anymore. LOL!
GrammyL- I am sorry you're going through a rough patch, but you will soon be back on track again. I hope all goes well with DH today! Miss you around here!
Tammy- Yeah weekends are hard, because the fiance is usually home with me, so there is that temptation. I went through my closet, and while I do have clothes, I can use a few more. LOL!
Shy- I got misty eyed when I was in the dressing room. I cannot honestly remember the last time I wore a 12. So it was pretty monumental for me. though I had a funny experience when my friend and I were doing our usual morning walk, they were falling off of my hips. So hmmm who knows I maybe one size smaller than I thought.
April- I do the same too, I start some cardio to get my joints all warmed up and then do my toning. It feels pretty good.
Well gonna get ready for my morning workout. Talk to you all later.

Shy, I know what you mean about spending so much time and only finding one thing. There is a consignment shop near here for larger sized women. I have been one of their customers for a few years now. I have taken quite a bit of clothing out there, but I have also bought several items for good prices.
Tinky, sorry your day isn't beautiful. This is an almost perfect day here. A bit cool, but I can handle that. Windows are open. Laughed about the pants falling off of you. That's what was happening in the aerobics class when I decided to splurge and buy smaller ones. Much easier to do the exercises!!
We have a landscaper coming this afternoon about pulling out some bushes at the back of our house. They are going to take over the enclosed porch if we don't get something done with them. After they are gone, we will be putting in smaller ones for sure.

OK, I am back. Surgery went well.....I am recovering at home today and probably the rest of the week I am pretty looped up so I will be on later when I am not so groggy......but I wanted to let you all know I made it.
Thanks for thinking of me....
