  • Ice cream would be a big one for me except I've gotten into the habit of having one spoonful at a time if I get a craving. It's the one thing I actually have a little willpower with. I could never have just one spoonful of cereal or half a taquito, but one spoonful of ice cream seems to satisfy me.

    I love frozen pizza. Especially those little Totinos party pizzas, or whatever they're called.

    Shhhhhh, don't tell anyone, but I snuck a few Lay's potato chips today.

  • Well, most of the time, I am ok with husband's occasional junk food - chips, ice cream. He eats quite healthy but likes his occasional 'treat'. I can usually resist those things just fine or have a little and stop (ex. 1/2 c. of ice cream).

    But a killer for me is when he brings home a box of Krispey Creme creme filled chocolate covered glazed donuts. He has only done this maybe 3x (claims his sugar was low in the store and his resolve melted - he is a type 1 diabetic, but geesh... this is why I do most of the grocery shopping!!!!), but it's deadly every time. I LOVE them. They are probably the one thing that I cannot resist if they are in front of me (at work too). It's hard to even THINK about them.
  • LOL - my problem with broccolis is that I CRAVE it and it smells so damn bad when I steam it that my son makes gagging noises and it lingers all day.
  • Peanut butter and nuts of all kinds, I always end up binging on these until i'm queasy. I've found sunflower seeds to be a safer alternative, at least it will take me hours to eat a 500calorie bag.

    Starchy foods (rice, pasta, crackers...) used to be a problem for me but I've learned to stay away from those. The thing is when I'm in a certain mood, I can binge on almost anything.

    • Chocolate (Although we always have some chocolate covered espresso beans and some chocolate chips because my SO insists upon it. Every day that I don't eat either of them I feel I have climbed a mountain. Right now we also have half a bar of high quality bittersweet chocolate because I needed a small amount for a recipe. I will be so glad when it finally disappears; everytime I open the fridge it jumps up and says "eat me, eat me" and I swear it is over 200 calories for just a tiny bite. It is truly Satan in a foil wrapper. )

    My husband has to keep all sugary cereal and peanut butter in the trunk of his car!!
  • I'm adding to my response MACADEMIA NUTS!!!! I ate 1/2 cup last night (could easily have munched through a cup). A cup is 980 calories!!!!!! So my 1/2 cup 'treat' added almost 500 calories to my daily calorie total.

    These are just ruinous, and I will stop buying them except when I plan to make my recipe right away. I must say, they would be a wonderul snack for some skinny minny who can't gain weight!
  • I now have to add cheese. It's not very good for you but I love it! Not American, but just about every other kind. I had one piece of swiss on my sandwich this evening and it added 70 calories and 5 grams of fat to the meal!
  • I have a few trigger foods that I have to be careful having in the house:

    ~Most sweet, refined carby things like donuts, cake, cookies, Little Debbie snacks, etc. are BAD. If I have a box in the house, then I have trouble having one and not stopping, so I have gotten into the habit of buying single serve packages for my children when they want something-that way they have theirs, and then its gone-and I don't get any.

    ~Cool Ranch Doritos. I LOVE them, but I will eat an entire bag-so I don't buy them.

    ~Premium ice cream-the GOOD stuff like Ben & Jerrys, Hagan Daaz, etc. I'll eat an entire pint, so I don't buy it!!!
  • The biggest thing I have problems with is raisins. I have absolutely no control with them... peanut butter and mixed nuts are also tough opponents. I used to have an issue w/ southbeach diet meal replacement bars because they're so much like candy bars, but they really upset my stomach...

    But nothing tempts me like raisins.

  • Oh, craisins!! Those scrumptious little nuggets of goodness, dried cranberries! *drool* I have absolutely no control whatsoever around them.
  • I have trouble keeping nuts, peanut butter, cookies, sliced bread, and pizza at home. It can get pretty bad.. :S
