Happy Friday Everyone! I took a much needed "mental" day from work today!
Now to get motivation to do some spring cleaning! LOL! I've been pretty good, I even had a Tbs. of blueberry pie yesterday. It was so good too! LOL! I upped my Calories to 1550, and I admit, I did alot better. I had alot of energy too. I did about 40 mins of Turbo Jam, then another 15 on the Elliptical. Petra & Luc's Mom- I like that crew too! They're pretty funny. But what about that guy who needs to go back to shore to go to court, or he'll be arrested? Yikes! I also like the Corneila Marie crew too. That's the guy who has both of his sons working for him. Though their boat is always breaking down! My Bro watches it and claims he can handle that job! Ha! Yeah right! Beans: (canned)- I usually give them a good rinsing if I'm going to use canned ones. That way I'm eliminating some of the sodium. Hmm that just gave me an idea to have some beans with my grilled chicken salad today! LOL GrammyL- Oooh a pony, that's one of my dreams!! One of my resident's daughter has a miniature pony. It's as big as a dog! I haven't seen it, except in pictures! But it looks so cute! :) Natalia- Congrats on your 2lb loss!!! Way to go! :D Zenor- Oooh a Mac, my DF is a Mac Addict! He's a bit of a tech geek, which is fine, because I don't have to mess with that stuff at home. He handles all that business. They are nice and pricey, but in the long run, they will last! Calories for yesterday~ 1444
Fiber~ 42g Sodium~ 1243 I'm down two more lbs! :yay: I've also reevaluated and set a new birthday goal for myself. I want to be down to my High School weight by my birthday (155lbs.) Grammy & Coolmom~ I use "refried" FF black beans from the can (how can they be FF & fried?!?!?!) My brand (Walnut Acres Organic) has 390mg for 1/2c of beans. I have made refried beans before from scratch, but that is a lot of work. I like my crockpot method better than messing with all the watching and stirring. Natalia~ :congrat: on the loss! Luc's Mom~ They knocked me out when I had my wisdom teeth removed and I don't remember anything. In fact, I was quite happy when I woke up. I was told that you are in the same mood on waking as when they put you under. They had given me vallium which turned me into a giddy 12 year old.I was giggling and even asked the nurse to keep my teeth. :rofl: It took me awhile to figure out how to dispose of them. Ew! For the record they were impacted and I had to have stitches as well. My DH just had a tooth yanked, but in his case it was easy because there were no roots left on the tooth. |
something is messed up with Fitday! I tried to enter the black beans as a custom food and its not accepting the calorie total because its doing some weird math.
cals= fat x 9 + (carb-fiber) x 4 + protein x 4 + alcohol x 7 what is up with the (carb-fiber)?? Because of that it says my 110 cals should be 72, and I can't override it. Zenor, that's just what I bought, the "refried" black beans and they taste great! not much different imo, and I think more fiber. |

Soluble fiber= things like grains Unsoluble fiber= things like carrots Am I right so far? I enter things like carrots daily. and Get Caloric values on Fitday. This is what I meant. I hope it makes sense, I'm not the best at describing things. :)
When you are entering a custom food there are sometimes 2 lines on the nutrition label for fiber (dietary and insoluble.) But fitday only lets you put in dietary (there is no input line for insoluble in custom foods.) So, I don't input it. I just put in the dietary fiber. I don't add them together either, because I figure fitday only wants to know the dietary fiber. I don't understand why that is, but I noticed it the other day while entering something. That's why I thought maybe that was the problem. |
I have a big weigh in monday a.m.
We had a challenge at Curves. I had to loose 10 pounds in 8 weeks. I have not had the official weigh, so of course it could go up over Mother's day. But I think I will have about 12 pounds since I started the challenge. I buy the canned beans too. No one else will touch any of the beans. So its just easier for me. I do rinse them very well. I like the black beans on a salad. Even better, on a taco salad. mmm. Men and Grocerys. Not here. The last time I sent hubby for lettuce... I got cabbage. He means well. Really. Or he might think that I just won't ask him to do it again, If he makes a mistake. :chin: |

Hi everyone! I try to stop in daily, but I dont get to post much, due to being in school full time. But classes just ended and I have 3 weeks until they start back up.
Okay I know this is kinda a dumb question, but how do you know what calories are good and what everything is worth? I have a nice size salad, all veggies and about 2tbsp pf french dressing. I sadly eat the same things everyday only because I know exactly what the cals are in it. I am losing the weight, but honestly I am getting bored with what I eat. I do walk 3-5 miles a day, so I am sre that has much to do with the weight loss. Hope someone can give me ideas. Thanks |

If You are wondering how we keep count of calories? A lot of us use Fitday.com some use Calorie King.com or Caloriecount.com Others right everything in note books or use Excel to track it. Do a search for Calorie counting. there is many to choose from. There are many choices. |

Tinky Yah I like that crew with the 2 sons also. And the guy that is thisclose to going to jail? How crazy is that. That would be quite the job, work 4 days and make 35,000. Sounds nice, but way too hard of work
Well today was ok calories wise, but I ate bad food. TOM started today and well the cravings hit me, so I had Mickey D's for lunch w/ a pop(soda). I shouldn't have done it. I haven't had pop in 5 months, but I have it out of my system now. I even went on a short bike ride, against the wind half way. Living out in the country I don't think the wind ever goes away, lol. Well the Busch Race is starting I will chat with you all tomorrow, inbetween the laundry baskets that have been screaming my name since last weekend. LOL Mary |
I don't know what the problem was with Fitday. There was only one space for Fiber and one listing for fiber on the can label. I figured the cals were more important, so I marked a zero for fiber and called it good.
