No, it isn't nutritious, but fruit juice, honey and other natural sweeteners are better than high HFCS.

I'm confused--are you saying that enriched white flour is good? Because from my understanding, the only reason they have to "enrich" it is that they've stripped away all of the natural nutrition by processing it so much.

I feel your pain! We have to go to the next town over to go to Trader Joe's which is where I do most of our shopping (except produce which I get at farmer's markets.) For some things I've even thought about buying on the internet because it is so much easier, but I haven't done it because I really like to see the label on stuff first.

Hmmm, I have drive an hour to the airport, fly for 3.5 hours, then drive another 1-1.5 hours to get to a Trader Joe's! Not picking on you, just wishing I could just drive to the next town.

We too have local produce only in the summer. But I eat as much unprocessed food as possible even if it comes from miles away. I avoid trans-fats and HFCS as much as possible. We eat brown rice, real oatmeal, whole grain bread and pasta, etc. But I don't get militant about it. I'll gladly eat a meal someone else has prepared - though not if that someone is a fast food restaurant.
