100 calorie packs

Do any of you eat those 100 calorie packs? I like them because they're super easy to throw into lunches and it's a great way to know that I am limiting myself to 100 calories at a time.

Has anyone tried the new Hostess ones??? Apparently they're selling like hotcakes (like cupcakes?!?! LOL!!). I have tried all three flavors, but I have to say the chocolate ones are DELISH!!!

I love them! I haven't tried the hostess, but I'll be sure to look out for them! I tried the Nabisco Chips Ahoy pack, it is really a good snack!

The hostess are AMAZING. Sometimes you just need a junky cupcake food craving to be resolved...my store keeps selling out.

I don't eat them often, but its great portion control if I need a less-than-healthy snack for my mental health. And MAN, the hostess cupcakes REALLY hit the spot - and hey, they have 5 g of fiber in them, not bad for 100 calories of chocolate cakey goodness!

I just had my first 100 calorie pack last week and now i'm in love! I have a pack of 100 calorie oreos every night for dessert. They taste so good and they make me stay away from other sweets during the day because i know i'll be able to have them.

I would totally choose the oreo crisps over real oreos any day!

-also, i have a coupon for the hostess ones but i was afraid they wouldnt taste that good but thanks to you guys i'll buy them once i eat my oreos!

athenac 03-21-2007 04:24 PM

5g of fiber?? Wow! I'm trying to avoid them because I figured I'd end up paying $4-5 for like 6 packages. How much are they costing for you guys?

poppins3 03-21-2007 05:38 PM

I was eating several different kinds -- Oreo, Chips Ahoy, Honey Grams, Wheat Thins -- but I found that they kind of made me feel sick.

There's also a chance it was just something else in my diet, so I'll have to try out the Hostess ones! They are a perfect-sized snack for only 100 calories!

mandalinn82 03-21-2007 05:43 PM

The hostess ones cost me 2.99 for a 6 pack today. 50 cents is an acceptable cost for a snack for me personally, and my oh my are they tasty. Yes, its pretty nutritionally void (though I feel better if my fiber is low for the day...100 cals to get to my fiber goal is ok with me), but it helps me manage chocolate cravings sooo well!

I don't know. I just don't trust myself with that stuff. 100 calories can easily turn into 200 calories. Although at this point of my journey I am fairly in control. But still. Besides when I start eating foods that are sugary it just makes me want more and more of it. And also if I am using up 100 calories on that stuff, then what should I give up of my other stuff? But I can definitely see where it could work for some people. Definitely. Those cupcakes DO sound good, and it's been so darn long. Hmmmm.

They are great. I haven't tried the hostess, I haven't seen them. But I will be on the look out. At Target, I paid 2.79. They are very good for a snack. I did get cheez-its, doritos, teddy grams and fudge swirls. They were all good.

I keep the 100 calorie packs in the back storage closet for when I feel like having a naughty snack but without the guilt...LOVE THEM!!

My new love is the Quacker mini Delights...90 calorie bags and the drizzeled chocolate are SOOO YUMMY!! I could give up all sweets forever and just have these...

mamabanana 03-21-2007 08:43 PM

The Hostess ones are very good...best of all, I make them REALLY last by using them for dessert for my older kids..they get one tiny little one so theres only one for me, LOL! 33 calories, when I am not on my normal eating plan (I do LA Weight Loss AND count calories, LOL!!!)

Oh Yes the chocolate drizzles! They are delicious!!! :D I got a box of these a couple days ago. I got 2 packages. The kids ate the other ones.

I have tried a bunch of different kinds of the 100 Calorie Packs, but I think the Hostess are my favorite so far - They taste exactly like the real thing, and they're so easy to use as a sweet treat without going crazy! Perfect for me...

Hope those of you that can't find them are able to soon - and go to their site and get a $1.00 off coupon (fewer calories AND dollars?!?!?) ;) They also have a really cute thing where you can customize your own cupcake song. I'm so easily distracted ;)

I picked up some Hostess packs today -- golden cake with a creamy center and chocolate frosting. (I wanted the chocolate-on-chocolate, but they were nowhere to be found. There were tons of carrot cake -- I'll give these a try one day!)

I LOVE them! A perfect sweet treat that doesn't make me feel weighed down. :)
