Blue, if you have a place to put them out, birds LOVE egg yolks. I know that it may seem a little gross--like cannibalism--but my husband is a complete bird-nut and he swears that the protein is wonderful for them.
When I have eggs (I prefer scrambled), I usually have one whole and one or two with just the whites. Much more volume, quite filling, and still taste really good mixed in!

No kidding!!! I am a bird nut too so that is a perfect solution for me (we have three feeders plus suet)! I never thought about it, but the protein would be good for them. This is a stupid question, but I assume you put them out cooked?
You believe those yolks were MEANT to be tossed, they're not really edible.
Dance around while brushing your teeth, blowing your hair, washing the dishes and the such. Why burn 5 calories doing those things, when you can burn 10?
You no longer crave Edy's ice cream and instead just can't wait to sink your teeth into some heavenly ........ vegetables.
When you go into a panic becuase you've run out of cauliflower.
When you walk over 1/2 mile (and then back) in the frigid, frigid cold and biting wind to purchase the vacant cauliflower.
Actually count the number of nuts you are eating. And don't need to count all that high.
When you know exactly what you will be eating for the next 7 days.
When you hum tunes from your fitness videos.
While doing your grocery shopping there's only 2 or 3 aisles you need to go down.
When a fairly small bottle of oil lasts for months and months and months.
(Great thread Diva. I like it a lot, I just may pass it on to the 100lb club.)
You know you're serious about losing weight when... You make mashed potatoes out of Cauliflower. You're digital kitchen scale is used more than your fry pan. You wear out the flusher handle on the bathroom toilet. You buy only Fat Free and Sugar Free items. You can't wipe the smirk off your face when watching friends eat cake and you eat lettuce. About the egg yolks, I don't eat them because I'm on high cholesterol meds. We have a two year old English setter and after I finish cooking with eggs, I always fry the yolks up for him. He actually sits next to the stove and waits for them, he looooooooooooves them. When our chickens were babies, we used to chop up the cooked egg yolks and feed it to them. They loved it too! The egg shells can be used too, we zap them in the microwave until dried, then grind them up and feed to the chickens. You can also put them out for the wild birds along with the yolks. Good idea Diva for a thread!
I use the egg shells in the compost bin (16 gardens) and I will start feeding the yolks to the birds.
And Bobbi, you are so dead on about the scale. I love my digital scale and I have become an expert on converting ounces into grams.
I accidently bought fat-free Colombo Vanilla yogurt and realized it when I got home. I was scared it would taste like yuck but it was good. Saved another sixty calories and three grams of fat per serving and you guys know how I feel about that fat.
As for the grocery store aisles, Robin, you're right on with that, too. Seems I only hit the perimeter and the spices aisle.
Anyway, I love the ideas I'm getting here. I may need to go buy a blow dryer.
Have a good day, kids! It's shoulders and abs day and I LOVE working my shoulders.
Here a serious one for you based on my past history because this is the only time in my life I have ever lost more then 10 lbs and I have been large since I can remember
You know you're serious about losing weight when...
two weeks pass and your still eating healthy.
you get past losing 10 lbs and you keep going.
when your children stop whining about not having chips as a snack or with a sandwich and actually ask for a banana, apple, grapes, or some pineapple.

lol i literally started laughing when i read that one. Last night i was watching a movie on tv and i had just watched a movie before that and so i was feeling bad about laying around and about eating more cals than i was using and so i got up and while watching my movie i walked in place and during commersials i did some jumping jacks. Sometimes i feel like a dork but hey, it was better than just sitting around and doing nothing, and i wanted to watch the movie!
In Canada, we can buy little cartons of 100% egg whites (nothing else in there) and that's all I get these days. Takes care of that 'I can't stand to waste food' problem.
You know you're serious about losing weight when your GYN says . . . "you need to have a hysterectomy" . . . and you think . . . "wonder how many pounds my uterus weighs".

Man, that was hilarious!
As for the egg yolks, I used to feel bad about wasting food when I would throw something away, but think about it: isn't it JUST as wasteful to eat something your body doesn't need?
