Default How does your stomach look?

So Im kind of wondering how my stomach will look when I get to my goal weight of around 140. Has anyone been pleasantly shocked with they change in their tummy area? Im not looking to wear a bikini but id like it to look normal I guess? lol

Why aren't you looking to wear a bikini? You can do anything you set your mind too! I promise you all you have to do is believe in yourself...

Do you have children, and do you have stretch marks?

I have 2 kids and stretch marks and even at 129 I had an overhanging belly roll. I stil wore a bikini, but I had to make sure I bought one that covered up that roll of flabby skin.

I kind of thought that as soon as I hit my goal my stomach would metamorphose into a tight taut six pack, but it hasn't. It's still my tummy, but smaller.

So it depends on what you have already. If you work out your abs, and you have no kids and no stretch marks, then you could end up with a nice flat belly, but it's hard to say.

Running is surprisingly good exercise for the tummy area, as you work your core as well as your legs. My upper belly has hardened up a lot since I started running.

No kids yet and i do have a few small stretch marks but nothing too bad that would bother me. I guess Im just concerned about the rolls lol

Well, in thaqt case you might get away with it. It depends on what you are expecting. We are of a similar height, and I still had flesh on my body even at 129. I'm hesitant to post this as it's not the most flattering angle, but this was me in a bikini weighing about 133.

The belly looks OK as I'm lying down and gravity helps, but there is still plenty of (pasty white) flesh there.

I am down to 134 and have a horrible tummy! I have always carried my weight there and it's still mostly there. I have toned some but not nearly enough. Makes me sad I have had 2 babies though and am in my 40's. I am sure younger women that haven't had kids tend to bounce back quicker!

I'm at 140 right now, and only an inch or so taller than you, and I'll tell you, i'm beginning to love my abs I have to say, Pilates does AMAZING things for them. As i mentioned in another post i have a tiny bit of loose skin when i bend over, but i think the ab exercises i do have def. helped. It also depends however on the day. After a weekend where I have gone overboard, they're not looking so hot (water weight) or if I eat a lot of fiber (again, bloating and water weight), but usually towards the end of the week (after 5 days of strict diet/exercise) they're looking pretty good, not flabby at all, flat, with a little bit of muscle tone. I want to lose 10 more lbs by July 4, and by then I think i'll be confident to wear a bikini

I am, however, only 25 and have had no children.

Yucko. However I've had 5 kids all weighing between 8 and 9 something with one of them being 11lbs4oz. so I know that that's a major contributor. I will say that as I lose weight it does look better in clothes but I know that nothing short of plastic surgery will get it to where I'm happy with it.

I'm at 156, and my stomach is my favorite part of me! It could be the way I'm built (hourglass) but it has actually flattened out quite nicely and shows lots of definition, and I've never had any stretch marks on my tummy. Now my butt/thighs/ upper arms are a totally different story!

I once felt that hopelessness regarding the belly as well.. None of the women in my family have very nice bodies, we don't even have waists, and carry most our fat in our bellies. But on one of my health spurts I jogged every day for usually about 15 minutes, nonstop jogging... went from 145ish to 120ish in 4 months. It shrunk the fat right off my belly - no supermodel, but I was confident enough to wear a bikini. Jogging is the best exercise for bellies I would say.
