Hey everyone, hope the first week is going great for all of you! I just made the most amazing turkey chili for dinner, it's exciting to realize healthy food doesn't have to taste bad. :carrot: I'm starting a new fitness DVD tonight, and I'm actually really excited to step on the scale this Sunday. Never thought I'd say that! haha

Today is going to be hard! It is a co-workers birthday and there is going to be cupcakes and peach pie floating around the office. I am mentally preparing myself to say "no" to these things now...

Morning all

Im just getting over some bug that had me lose my voice totally for a few days two weeks ago and am still sounding a little funny now. It went to the chest and the cough is still there...rather frustrating actually! Im trying to not let it make me lose my mojo, but i must admit that while im eating 3 meals (im a serial meal skipper who survives on 1 to 2 small meals a day), im skipping the exercise which is not so good :o. Of course TOM chose ths week to visit, but will be gne by weigh in...phew! Still hoping for a loss.

Healthyme you are amazing still working out at work while your ill :)

If i cant get back on before weigh in, best of luck everyone! :)

Happy Friday everyone, hope you all have a plan for the long weekend. I'm supposed to go away with 3 girlfriends but were having a heck of a time finding a p,ace to go in pur budget at this late sage of the game. Oh well it will all work out. If not then at least my eating will all work out:)

I did have a gain on Monday that put me back to my SW but I have lost that and a little more again. Not sure what to put down if we go away as I won't have a scale. I guess I'll WI tomorrow morning and add a pound or two:(. But you get together and eat out the whole time it's bound to happen. My worst when travelling is not getting in my water or else I have to stop every 20min or so. Crazy old bladder...LOL

Well off to make some more phone calls to see if I can find us a mini vacation.

Hi everyone,
I'm going away for the long weekend and I won't have Internet access so I am setting up all of the week 2 threads right now. Please do not start using them until Monday though.
I would lock them but I'm not sure if I can open them again so just wait til Monday.
If I have phone service I can still check in but if not then I'm totally off radar until late Monday.
Everyone please rembember that you need to WI by 6pm on Sunday.

getmydivaback3- Hello! I'm having the same issue with finding the motivation to workout. Good luck! I think just pushing yourself to work hard is a good idea. I've found that giving myself goal weights (with a time frame) can make it a bit challenging.

missjean - I've only made turkey chili once, but I loved it! I think I'm going to have to make some soon.

angie7896 - I've never had peach pie, but it does sound pretty tasty. I hope you were able to avoid the snacks.

tkkoz- Sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well, but happy to know you're getting better.

bigmid - Glad you were able to go away for the weekend! Have fun!!

retiredone- Why have freebies if you're not going to make use of them, right? :) It's the end of summer, things happen. Monday will be a great day to start up again!


I do not have any plans for the weekend, but my semester starts Wednesday. I'm a little sad that I didn't make my goal (under 300 by start of school), but I'm still closer to it than I was at the beginning of summer. While my first goal is still to be under 300, I'm going to try to not stick a time frame on it. I'll just keep trying to lose weight and get there when I get there.

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

I am mentally preparing for all the food challenges I will encounter. I started reading Eat What you Love, Love What you Eat. It is behavior mod for over eaters/constant dieters....me. I have read every book out there and this one had so many positive reviews from medical peers that I figured why not read one more.

Labor Day I am going to the gym at 9am. I bit the bullet and hired a trainer for 2 times a month for 6 months. Our first meeting is Labor Day...seemed appropriate.

Weigh In Question
 
My weigh in is up from my starting weight...I had meant to update my starting weight by the deadline but confused the date so I missed the deadline so I am stuck with the higher weight :dizzy: and I didn't lose this week. I am not sure the pros and cons of using the freebie.

For this first week would you
a) use a Freebie
b) post the higher weight

Hi everyone I'm just heading out soon so thought I would pop in once more before.
Well I lost 4lbs this week:). However I'm only post 1 as I may be gaining that much over the weekend. This way I won't have to play catch up if I don't go right back down next week. I hope I don't gain any but I know me and that's not going to happen.
Once I'm back and drinking water again I should lose that plus a bit more.

Don't forget to post your weight by tomorrow at 6pm central

After last night, I don't expect great things this week. We were given a gift card to this fabulous restaurant in Atlanta called Fogo De Chao. I've been wanting to go there for 12 years but it's so expensive that I could never afford it. But with a gift card, we were finally able to go. The sad thing is that the gift card expired on 8/31 so we had no choice but to go that night. I tell you, the food was so wonderful! I know I ate more than I should have, and the scale is probably not going to be kind this week because of that one night. But I'll get past it. I ended up making a blog post about last night's dining experience. It was incredible! Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime thing and I'm glad I was able to go. Now....damage control today! :running:

I am a bit nervous about weighing in tomorrow. I have not been horrible, just have not been tracking as much as I should. I feel like I have lost something, so let's hope the scale agrees...

Good morning Blue Team!!!!!

You know what today is? Time to face the scale!

I've faced mine. I wasn't expecting much of a loss this week because of Friday night's dinner and a cookout at my mom's yesterday. But I still lost 1.4 pounds. I weighed in at 255.6 today. And, I am knocking on the door of that 25 lbs. lost mark! I'll definitely get that next week!

Congrats on the 1.4 lost! Every little bit counts!

I weighed in at 295 this morning, that means I've lost 5lbs! I know it's been more than a week since the last official weigh in but I'm still very excited. This also means I've lost my first 10lbs since starting, which is great! I'm sure next week's number will be smaller but I'm going to work just as hard as I did this week. :)
