Yay blue team!
I almost had a shake today and decided against because of this challegnge so it's helping me stay on track! |
Mamamia, I was going to skip my lunchtime workout and because of this challenge said no way :carrot:
|
Ditto! Really really didn't want to work out today, but I didn't want to say "Eh, didn't feel like it" on my exercise log. I've got a great feeling about these next few weeks :)

Good Wednesday morning Blue Team!
You know what Wednesday is. Hump Day! (Although that would be a good way to burn some extra calories, that's not what I'm talking about this time. ;) ) We're halfway through the week! Come on Friday and long Labor Day weekend! I feel like I am finally on the way to recovery from this stupid cold. I've spent the past two days either at work or in the bed sleeping. But in spite of the cold, on both Monday and Tuesday I drug my sick self up to the office gym for a half hour workout both days. For me, that's a bit of an NSV in itself. Feeling icky and still working out? Sweet. :cheer: Today I feel much better though. I still am sniffling and sound bad but I definitely sound worse than I feel. I can finally face the world and not just muddle through it! Yippee! And, TOM went away, which makes things even better! :carrot: Mamamia - Great job resisting the shake! I wanted a shake too and even gave myself the excuse of "a shake will cool your sore throat" but I didn't give in either. Well done! tmil206 - Fabulous job of not skipping the lunchtime workout! :cheer: You rock!!!! I'll be hitting the office gym again on my lunch break. I'm still working my way toward running a mile. Yesterday I was able to do 0.71 miles, which is huge for me. I am nearly 3/4 of a way to a mile! :running: I hope you all have a wonderful, on plan, healthy day! |
Evening BLUE TEAM!
I'm Tania, i am a 41y/o single mother. My son is 21 and is going to university, studying Accounting (very proud mumma here :o). I live in beautiful Melbourne so it is weird to be doing a 'fall' challenge when it is about to be spring here :). This is my 2nd challenge, the first i didn't complete. The second i completed but only lost 2 pounds! I'm working on the theory that i can only get better with every challenge ;) Healthyme I'm envious that you not only have a gym at work, but a workout buddy too boot...very pleased for you though  Bigmid you rocked the end of the last challenge, im positive you can beat the 7 pounds you need :) Im really looking forward to another challenge and chatting with you all. Welcome to all new team mates. Here's to an amazing 13 weeks of weight loss for us all  |
Hello, Blue Team!!!! I am so happy to be on this team, and it is interesting reading everyone's introduction. Seeing so many people fired up to make this work inspires me to keep going. Let's keep it up team!
I am a work at home mom with 2 kids. My son is in 3rd grade and is playing football. My daughter is in 5th grade and is a gymnast. Between the two of them and a nonstop work load, I have a packed schedule every day. My biggest challenge is not allowing the needs of my family to push my own needs to the side. I tend to care for them all day and work, and then I am too exhausted at night to exercise. This week I am experimenting with blending exercise and work. I set a schedule so I do a bit of work and then get up to walk fast laps around the house for 15 minutes. It is long enough to work up a sweat and get my heart going...theory is I can keep my metabolism going while I am working during the day and that will help me somehow? I also walk laps around the track while my son is practicing football, so I don't have to sit on the bleachers and waste 2 hours. I walk laps while they are warming up and running their laps, and then I watch the rest of the practice, and walk more laps while they are doing their final races and laps at the end of practice. |
Hi everyone it's nice to see everyone coming on and telling us a bit of history. I really like the getting to know you part.
I have read everything but just getting ready to head out so no time for personals. I'm donating blood this morning so I won't be able to exercise today either. I'm hoping to at least go for a walk. When I go for a normal walk....not my exercise on it is not strenuous at all:) so I should be good. Well everyone have a great day as I know you will. We already have so many resisting temptation and resisting the non workout. We've got this...GO BLUE!! |
Happy Wednesday Blue Team !
Hope everyone is having a great week so far. It's very motivating to see all the positive posts and all of your personal stories. Today is looking like a beautiful day. I plan on getting outside and doing the lawnwork around the house. We do have dinner with a few friends tonight which should be fun. Have a great Wednesday ! |
Hello!
I am thrilled to be part of the Blue Team! This is my first challenge. I am a 47 year old mom of 3 boys (in 5th and 2nd grades). I did work from home but recently quit I realized I was becoming a hermit and anti-social. The boys started school yesterday and I toured a few gyms. As I was touring each facility I kept telling myself every reason why I shouldn't join and not why I should. I worked through that and ended up joining one. It was very overwhelming for me. I am with Angie, food is my problem. There are times I have no control over food. I don't have any goals for this challenge other than to complete the challenge. |
Looks like everyone has a plan! I like the idea about walking the track while the kids practice. I got in a 45 minute workout during lunch today and took my daughter for a 45 minute walk last night. She is one and its good for both of us to take evening walks before her bedtime.
I do good when I'm on a schedule during the week its the weekends that kill me which usually involve friends, BBQs and some drinks. What is everyone doing for the Labor Day weekend? |
Hello Blue Team. I had a bad night last night. Food of course. I don't have any routine to my life this summer and I don't think I've spend more than 2 weeks at a time at home since the end of June. I'm not even at home now. We're at our DS#1's place until Sunday as DH is trying to get in the last dregs of summer vacation. He starts work on Tuesday for the school year (school bus driver) and I'll finally have a routine. It's the same every summer but this year it seems we didn't stay put at all.
If I didn't have to eat I'd be thin and rich! |
Sorry to be introducing myself so late! Life is crazy lol. I am 25, single mom to two boys (almost 5 and 2), full time college student (should be graduating this semester), and a full time legal assistant (paralegal) at a law firm. I have done a couple challenges but only have completed one. I hope to lose around 20 lbs this challenge for graduation. Today I had extensive dental work done. I had half of my mouth root cleaning and scaled, 4 fillings, and the first part of a root canal. I go back in 2 weeks for the other side cleaning, finish the root canal and 2 more fillings. This pain is worse than childbirth lol. Other at least with childbirth I got a beautiful baby for the pain LOL.
Here's two all of us GOOD LUCK! |
Good morning!
PageLynn- You get a beautiful, healthy smile with dental work :) It doesn't compare to the joy of motherhood, but it's something! lol. Congrats on your last semester! retiredone - It's OK to have a bad night. At least the school year is starting back up, right? :) I'm glad you were able to enjoy your summer, though! bigmid - I think it's awesome that you donate blood! :carrot: I didn't stick completely on plan yesterday, but hoping today is a better day. It really is a fight to stay away from the foods that you want to eat, but know you shouldn't eat. I do think this challenge is going to help me get completely back on track, though. :) I've been struggling to get out of the 300s. |
I am trying to use myfitnesspal.com to log my food. I say trying because I am just lazy about logging. It syncs with my fitbit (which I am also not great about using). If you happen to use myfitnesspal.com, I'd love to be added as a friend...my user name is HSB2001

My name is Kim, I'm very excited about the challenge. I have been on this journey since 12/2011. I am a mother of 3 beautiful kids and I'm doing this mostly for them. I just want to live a long and healthy life so I can see them all grown up. I'm not going to set a goal for this challenge I'm just going to push myself really hard to stay on track and lose as much as possible. My main problems are "late night snacks", and "lack of motivation to actually workout." I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you.
