Hi all, I'm Dora from Oregon and I am so ready for this challenge!!! And so ready for it to quit raining!!!! Sheesh, I know this is Oregon, but 8 months in a row is enough . . . sigh.
My goal is to lose consistently whether a pound or 2 or even a half. I'll be doing 1500 calories, high fiber, low fat and lots of water. Plan to walk with LS an hour most days. I got off track with the death of my son Seth Christmas eve, but I'm quite a bit stronger now. to Angela and Liz and strength to you from the Father who knows all our sorrows. Now . . . ready Blue Team? Let's kick some Red Team butt!!! Oh - and so great to meet the newbies and see so many of the old gang too . . . Welcome and Welcome Back:wel3fc: Dora |
Dora! Good to see you! I think about you often.

Hi! I'm Selina. This is a great challenge. I lost 32 lbs the first time I think. Dropped out of another challenge due to stress of a new baby and can't remember if I did another one but anyhoo, I love it!! :cheer3:
I have 3 really great kids, 8 yr old ds, 5 yr old dd, and 20 mnth old dd. We currently have a 6 month old baby boy who we hope to adopt. Pray for us! My highest weight was 277 so my goal is 177. If I want to lose more after that, I may. But would love to get to that and see! Today I'm 194 so 3 lbs less than starting weight so far. I can't wait to get into the 180s!! Can't think of anymore to say! So hugs, have a great day!! Selina :df: |
Hey guys - can't wait to get this started!! I really want to lose 25 pounds during this challenge if possible! I know it's ambitious, but I am starting a new job in September and really want to feel great!
I haven't done very well this year really - as I keep losing and gaining the same ten pounds. I hope the summer challenge will give me the extra push to stay committed! Feels good to be Blue :whoo::whoo::whoo: |

Hi-
I'm Weeb, a seminarian (working on a M.Div. degree) a pastor's wife, and *news since last BL* a pastor myself (that means my husband is also a pastor's husband, lol). I'm really excited to have my very own church, even if it is a small church. :) I do calorie counting via South Beach but I've been cheating a lot in the last month. I need BL to start bad! I live in Southeastern Indiana, I am doing most of my exercise working in the garden or on the house (rather than standing in one place and moving a weight I need to strip wallpaper or swing a hammer instead--I have an old house!)...I would like to do Couch to 5K but I hate the summer heat...we'll see what I can do... I've been working my tail off so far this break! P.S. Floor Sanding machines are excellent for arm definition! |
Hi everyone it is a rainy/snowy mix here today and it's the end of May I should not have to turn up the furnace:( Other than that it has been a good day I went and donated blood (good deed done) and met a couple friends for supper. My workouts have been okay and so has my eating I've just been feeling kind of bloated the last couple days so not quite sure whats going on.
sameen -that's good that you are listening to your body it really does know what's best for us. Thanks I hope to have a great time on holidays only 1 week away now. I hope being back home and in a routine again helps you out. Doragone - I am so glad to have you back with us again and to hear that you are felling stronger now. I hear you with the rain and it hasn't even been raining all that long here.....I'm ready for full on summer. Soon2BeFitChick -:goodvibes are being sent your way that you get to adopt that little baby boy of yours. I know how you feel about reaching a goal and then deciding from there if you want more or not. I know you will be in the 180's this time. I have enjoyed them but now I am looking for the 170's to come. dayoneagain - congrats on the new job and good luck on your 25lb goal. I think this summer challange will be great for everybody. Summer just seems to be a better time with more fruit and veggies as well. We don't seem to rely on comfort food as much in the summer either. maryshady - good luck with leaving the 170's in the dust this challange babygrant - My hopes are that we all rock this challange and that all we leave behind us is a trail of red....lol weebleswobble - Welcome back to the blue team... congratulations on now being a pastor and having your own church. That's wonderful. Do you think a floor sander will work on carpet....lol I really need something that will give my arms definition. Hello to everyone else and if some of you are still just lurking please feel free to jump right in. The more you post the more you will benefit. You don't have to say much just let us know how you are doing. The challange will offically start on Sunday so make sure you drop in and let us know a little about you. Have a great night everyone |
Hi, My name is Jessica and I live in BC in Canada.
I'm 21, and I've always felt overweight, but I didn't really pack on the pounds until I was 16. Between 16 and 21 I packed on over a hundred pounds, and now I'm slowly but surely working them off. I was always told I was fat, so I always FELT fat, and really didn't even notice that I was getting more and more obese. A lot of the reason that I was allowing myself to be/get overweight is psychological, so I'm trying to work through that and allow myself to get healthy. I deserve this, no matter what has been said in the past. It's hard some days but I know I can do it! I'm calorie counting and going to the gym 5 days a week. I was hit by a car walking my dog last week so I've taken some time off but I'm looking forward to getting back on the gym-wagon next week! My goal for this challenge is to continue losing weight in a consistent manner, and hopefully to do it the healthy way..lately I've been not eating enough, and while I AM losing weight, I'm frustrated with myself because I'm not doing it the right way. I do a body mass evaluation thing every 6 weeks with my gym, last time I was down 10lbs and down 2% body fat. I'd like to have the same results next time. (about 3-4 weeks from now) Angela, so sorry to hear about your boyfriend, but I'm glad you're here and able to participate! ANYWAYS, I'm super long winded, so I'll stop now, but go team blue! My best friend is on the red team, and I'd like nothing more than to kick her butt at this challenge! :D |
Good morning!
Thought I'd stop and say hi to my team, now that we've been assigned... hi! I'm 26 and live in SE virginia. Following WW points counting for food control, occasional 30DS for exercise. Boyfriend and I are supposed to start running together but that hasn't happened yet. Just moved in together to a new place we're still scurrying to get set up. I'm already working on a good loss for our first week :D I have a bridesmaid's dress to fit into in just under two months so I'm pretty dedicated to the cause right now. I don't have set goals for the challenge - just to lose. Loss every week would be amazing. Exercising consistently would be magic. Good luck everyone! |
I'm officially overweight instead of obese today! So, I'm already happy with my progress for this challenge and we haven't even really started!
I'm glad to see there are other newbies, like me. And, that there are plenty of veterans to show us how it's done. |
Hi Blue Team it's almost challange time I hope you are all ready.
JessicaDawn - Welcome to the challange and I am all for showing the red team how it's done. It should be fun for you two competing against each other. Your plan sounds good just make sure you are getting enough to eat as that is very important. abluvion - WTG on already having a loss for us. Getting into that bridesmaid dress is good motivation. The unpacking of your new place is giving you some exercise so don't worry that you haven't started running yet. gardenerjoy - Big CONGRATULATIONS on hitting the overweight mark. This is a great day for you. |
Thanks Angela (babygrant) for keeping me in mind - it helps to know that. And you too Jacky (bigmud) - for welcoming me back. Here's to a warmer, slimmer summer.

I'm doing a 24 hour relay today. Had to take a couple hours off to take my mom to the doctor, but I'm heading back soon. I've walked 9km so far, and plan on hitting at least 15 by morning!...if I can make it. Calves are BURNING already lol

Hi all, I'm Sunni. I'm originally from NJ, now in NC and in another 3 weeks will be in MA. :D I've been a member of 3FC since 2006. I lost 15 lbs then and gained it all back since my plan was not-eating-because-I-am-stressed. That didn't work when things started looking up, hehe. ;)
Now I'm back and I've been trying to get down to 145, for a start. I hover around 152 - 154 and I can't slip up at ALL in both diet and exercise if I need to see 151. I'm getting incredibly frustrated with the constant upswings, but it's what I need to do, I guess. My goals for this challenge are to be consistent with my diet and exercise. I get started on both for a few weeks, and then the cravings for chips and lazing come in, usually when I hit 152. Weird, huh? :dizzy: Anyway, I'm back up to 153.7 and I'm hoping this challenge will force me to be on the ball all week for 14 weeks. I'm especially motivated for this challenge because I am meeting friends I haven't seen in a year in another 2 -3 weeks and I want to look my best (toned) when I meet them. Also, I'm moving to Boston and starting a new job (woohoo!) so I need to get my diet and exercise routine under control so I can set up a schedule for both when I get there. I'm really worried about gaining weight after I start working. For the past year, I've been unemployed and had all the time and resources available to help my weightloss. My main issue will be time now. :) Angela - again, sorry for your loss. I am so glad to see you here!! Glad you'll be joining us, missed you girlie! |
