hi everyone!
I'm Sameen and this is my first BL challenge. I'm just about to graduate from university with a fashion marketing degree and would really like to loose some weight before i step into the real harsh fashion world. I have started with calorie counting and have continued to do that with a low carb, high protein diet till now. i exercise for 7 days a week even though i haven't exercised in two days.. but i do about an hour on the eliptical and phase one of the Jillian Micheal 30 day shred or zumba.. whatever i'm in the mood for!
anyways.. i really hope i can lose weight and have fun at the same time with this!
Welcome everyone and Goooo Blue Team.

youthquaker 05-24-2010 09:22 PM

Hi, my name's Jessica and this is my first BL as well. I'm 21 and from the Jersey shore. I dropped out of college last year, but at the end of August I will be starting at a Paul Mitchell school, so I'm hoping to lose another 10 pounds by then =]

me4life 05-24-2010 09:23 PM

hey all just wondering what everyones goals are for this challenge

Bigmid 05-24-2010 10:24 PM

mageorge - good to have you back I think it's great that you are running a 5k in August. I think that would be something I would enjoy as well. Once you start you training for that those 9lbs will leave you in a hurry.

CapeBretonChick - I am so glad that you joined us in the challange again and we are here for you in whatever way we can help. I think taking care of yourself again is #1 priority and refocusing your energy back on yourself can be very healing. Thank you for your kind words and I hope I can be of inspiration to the team. I hope I can do a good job of leading the team for the summer challange and that we all can make it to our goals no matter what they are. :hug:s to you. Thanks for making the new banner it's great now if I can only remember how to put it in my sig:)

maryshady - Welcome back to the Blue Team!!

babygrant - yeah go Blue!!!!! I am sure you will do great as you have done in the past challange. I commend you for changing to be healthier for your kids your husband and yourself. You are definitly moving in the right direction WTG for staying focused.

Mercy03 - as long as it is a good sore:carrot:

Nancy0 - glad to have you along with me this time.
I was just out with Nancy today at the movies and then for a lnice long walk to burn off the popcorn when she informed me that she is going to kick my *** this challange......I say us veterans need to show the newbies how we work this challange...lol

simcyn - Welcome to the challange, this is a great group of pepole and we are all here for each other good luck on your journey. Your exercise mix sounds good.

Narnia99 - Welcome to the team this is the right place to get back to your goal.

Sameen - Welcome to the BL Blue Team Congratulations on your upcoming graduation. Make sure that you are adding in some rest time in with your exercise routine. The body does need a little time to heal itself. At least do the elliptical one day and then a dvd the next rather than both the same day every day. This will break up the routine a bit. Good luck

youthquaker - Welcome to the challange and good luck with school in August. You have set a very reasonable goal for yourself and that's great. I wish you success in you journey

me4life - My goal this time around is for 15lbs as I think the summer challange is a little shorter than the winter and spring challanges. I also hope to be alot fitter by the end of summer. I am pretty good now but have a hill to conquer the weekend before the challange is over. What are your goals for this challange?

So here is my long winded story about vacation and the challange.....bare with me.
I have plans for a 10 day road trip from Calgary to the Grand Canyon with Nancy. We leave on June 3rd so Shan84 will be posting the new threads and doing up the Blue Team weight loss results until I am back. (Thanks Shannon) When I return from vacation I will take over all aspects of the Blue Team as Leader.

I hope that all of you are okay with this arrangement. I will be posting while I am on holidays as much as I can (might not always have internet) I will be reading all the posts but will most likley not be doing personals durning that time....again I hope you understand.

I also have a life/vacation idea that I will not fully deprive myself of anything as this means that it is not a life style change but a diet. So along the trip I will be eating some foods that I don't always have when I am at home and I am okay with it if I happen to gain a few pounds while I am away. I will be putting in my first weigh in on the Thursday morning that I leave and the next weigh in I'll be gone still so my weight will also stay the same. I may be a couple weeks before I show another loss as I lose my vacation weight. I think this is healthy for me to enjoy all aspects of life (even food in moderation) as I think this may be the key to helping me maintain this lifestyle. I have never maintained my losses before as I would diet and then not diet, diet and then not diet.....you see the pattern. I told you this was long winded.

Once again I hope you are all okay with the fact I will be somewhat MIA during the beginning of the challange but I am still there for you and the Team.
If anyone would be interested in our trip we have a blog that we can post the link to and then you can see where we are and our updates (with pictures of course) along our 10 day trip. Let me know if you would like it posted.

Thanks for reading everyone. I am very excited for this challange and I know we can beat the Red Team.......GO BLUE GO!!!!

OrganizedChaos 05-24-2010 11:09 PM

Hi Everyone! This is my first BL challenge on the boards. I am excited to participate wherever possible. I am a WOHM with 3 children. I started my weight loss journey on October 26,2009. I lost a little over 40 pounds when I hit a plateau and ordered the GoWearFit armband. I love it! So, I count calories and I walk with run intervals about 3 miles a day 5-6 days a week. A few days a week I throw in some additional strength training with some exercises I have picked up from watching Jillian Michaels. I have not followed the other challenges very closely so I may not know when/where to jump in on all the threads, but I will try my best.

Angela-> I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I hope this challenge is everything you need it to be for you during this rough time.

Let's go BLUE!

maryshady 05-25-2010 06:26 AM

Hi everyone!! My name is Mary. I am a 44 yo married mom of three (1 ds & 2 dd) I also have a granddaughter who is about to turn 3! Been overweight most of my adult life.
I just read Dr. Hunzanga's "Where Did All the Fat Go". He is the doc from Biggest Loser. Really like the premise of the book so I will be starting the program on Sat. Need to go shopping, get the couple of workout equipment he suggests, and figure out my calorie breakdown and I will be ready to go.

The plan calls for 2 hours of exercise a day. So I will be doing an interval walk/run or turbo jam in the morning. A 30 min aerobic workout & 30 min bootcamp weight set in the evening. The workout plan will be a bit hard for the month of June as I work up until June 25th this year. But once summer hits it should be ok.

My son is getting married on Aug. 28th and I would like to lose 25 lbs. of fat by then. The book says its possible so I am going for it.

Can't wait to get to know everyone. Blue Team Rocks!!!

Cape Breton Chick 05-25-2010 06:58 AM

Hi Mary! I am curious about Dr. Hunzanga's "Where Did All the Fat Go" ... can you give me an overview of the plan? .. I live like 2 hours away from the closest bookstore .. so can not go out and get it today like I would like to.. lol Curious about what he suggests for food and exercise? :)

Enjoy your vacation. Girl you have done awesome the past two challenges. I know you will reach the goal you set this time too. I like your philosophy about living life and making this a lifestyle change instead of a diet. I need to adapt that thinking.

I guess I'll start things off. I'm Kirsten, 34, from Cleveland, Ohio. I am using a Go Wear Fit along with calorie counting on the Lose It! app on my ipod. I am down 31# so far since starting January 1st. I have hit a plateau for the past 5 weeks so I have upped my exercise to get things moving.

Hi!! I also have a Go Wear fit. I haven't really used it often. I used it for the first month then got bored with it. But on Saturday when I start my new program I plan on dusting it off and using it again.

Never been a small gal, but I am just plain tired of being tired. Looking forward to losing with all of you! Go BLUE.:goodluck:

Felt the same way when I started. Exercise is the key for me to helping with the tired feeling. Once I get back on a routine I am exhausted for the first week or so but then the energy comes back. Good Luck.

Hope to start exercising regularly this week. I am using Weight Watchers, counting points, and a combination of Chalean Extreme and P90X for exercise. I plan to run a 5K in August! (I am not a runner!) Looking forward to using this challenge to lose this last 15 pounds, goal weight of 110. GO BLUE!

Are you liking P90X? I tried P90 but he was soooo boring! I used it 3x and gave it back to my niece.
Is Chalean extreme the chalean from Turbo Jam?

Congrats on your upcoming graduation. It takes such purpose and determination to do. Kudos to you.

Well I'd really like to be successfull every single week. Last challenge I did great for the first 6 weeks, then I gained. Grr. I also aim to be consistint with exercise because for me...I cannot lose without a rigid exercise routine. I would also like to lose 25 pounds but if I lose inches and not that much weight, I'm happy.

gardenerjoy 05-25-2010 11:13 AM

Hi everyone! My name is Joy and I'm a newbie to the BL Challenge. I use the Beck Diet Solution and my food plan based on the DASH diet.

I've been doing 45 minutes of exercise a day, but I may sneak the exercise minutes up for the Challenge. I got a Wii Fit for my birthday this month and have been using it a lot, but I also like to walk and use fitness videos.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

ars 05-25-2010 10:13 PM

Hi everyone! Welcome to all the new blue team members and hello to the veterans!

I go by ars or Cricket, and I'm 29 years old and have been obese for most of my childhood and all of my adult life. After the last holiday season, I decided I must change my relationship with food and get rid of my extra weight for good. I'm calorie counting (loose zig zag), moving more, and using a GoWear Fit to help me set and meet goals and monitor progress. So far I have lost 48 pounds since the end of December, and much of that during the last TBL challenge (thank you blue team!). My weight loss has slowed, but I am content to take the slow road to my goal.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone better during this challenge!

Bigmid 05-26-2010 12:55 AM

Hi just wanted to pop in and say hello to everyone and hope you all had a great OP day.

OrganizedChaos-Welcome to the challange and congratulations on you weight loss so far. I think I would like a go wear fit too I should really look into how much they cost. Good luck with the challange

maryshady - thanks I really want to make it to my goal for this challange as well Im glad that you were able to come back to the challange this time around. I should look up that book wow 25lbs in 3 months would be great. When I was younger I could lose 10lbs a month but now I'm lucky if I can hit 5 in a month. Good luck you can do it.

CapeBretonChick - wow 2 hours from a bookstore that's pretty far.

abreezies-WTG on your 5k and having 2 more planned in June that's great. That is the best type of goal I think is to beat your own records. It makes it more fun if you can push yourself that way. Welcome to the challange

babygrant - sounds like a great goal...you can do this.

gardenerjoy - Welcome to the challange it is a great place to be for motivation. The Wii is super fun isn't it....it is a workout and yet you are having a lot of fun doing it.

ars - glad to have you back. Remember it is slow and steady that wins the race.....at least that's what I keep telling myself.....lol

Sameen 05-26-2010 05:48 AM
