Good on ya, Mercy!!!
My back is no better today. I iced it for just over an hour before lunch and that helped for a little while. Must go fill up the bag with snow again and have another session. Snow is great for an ice bag. It conforms perfectly to the body. I use a clean plastic bag without any holes and wrap it in a towel. If things don't get any better by tomorrow I'll seek medical care. Hope everyone will have a good weekend. |

I have looked up some class schedules for the gym I belong to and it's supposed to be nice so no snow on the roads so I think I will take a drive out there and shake things up a bit. retiredone - I hope you back feels better soon. Bigmid, I don't think I will be out of this funk until spring. School is not going well, I'm in a funk with my husband, it's baaad. But I haven't cheated on my diet. whoopie. Exercising never makes me feel great anyway, guess I'm not wired that way.

Does anyone have any fun Valentine's Day plans? I'm single again this year, so I'll be spending it with the dog and cat! I had a nice walk today with the dog (inspired by retiredone to brave the cold, snow, and wind...though the sun shining through the clouds on and off helped). Walking in the cold is a nice calorie burn! I think I'm going to have a hot bath now, I'm still a bit chilled through from the wind. I should have worn a hat...it wasn't windy in the city at all, but down by the lake the wind was gusting pretty good. Live and learn! |

Fun things to do on Valentine's Day??? Ars, you could take another walk with the dog and tie a red bandanna around his neck and you could wear a red hat or scarf. (Always have a hat close by when walking in the winter and layer your inner clothing.) You don't have to have a SO to celebrate love. I'll bet the dog and cat (as much as a cat can) love you. Then come home and have another warm bubble bath and then watch a sappy movie on tv. Any nursing homes close by? The residents might like a visit, especially if you brought them all a kid's valentine with a cookie. DH and I haven't made any plans. He usually brings me a flower but didn't this year as we had such a bad storm today and he didn't get to the stores or maybe he just plain forgot. Hahaha. I have a gift certificate for a local restaurant that we may use but we'll wait til next week when it won't be so crowded. I was going to make chocolate molten lava cakes but I think my back has stopped that plan from happening. Anyhoo, I'm gone to rest up a bit more. Take care. |

Sorry I've not been here all week. Had an impromptu trip away from the gym and with far too much food and drink... It was the 2nd anniversary of a rather important and unexpected death in my family so it threw me for a loop. I don't want to go into it. I prefer not to indulge myself as I will end up being miserable for weeks.
However, I have been trying to keep everything in moderation and I am down ONE POUND. Wow.... Anyway, I have signed up for two fun runs - a 5km in March and a 10km in May. I am also joining a new fitness group on Monday. So, I will get my focussed head on. Promise. Sigh. Hope everyone else is doing well - I will catch up with the chat as soon as I get a chance! |

I might use today's weight for weigh in...it depends on how I feel tomorrow morning. I think I had an awful lot of sodium today and not an awful lot of water. I may skip the scale tomorrow for my sanity! |

Hey Blue! Haven't been around much but I'm still plugging along. I'm hoping to be the 170's next week! Not much going on this weekend. Tomorrow I'm finally going to try spaghetti squash. I found a recipe spaghetti squash veggie gratin so I hope it turns out good. My hubby turned up his nose, so I figure I'll have my lunch for the next week (if i like it that is).

Hi everyone just a quick check in tonight. I didn't get in as much of a walk as I was hoping to as the sun did not shine like it was promised to. The ice fog hung around all day and it was a bit windy so chilly. We did take some pictures to try out the camera but that only lasted about 10min. I weighed myself this morning because I knew I was going to eat popcorn at the theater (and I did) so tomorrow may be worse. I will post tomorrow though. I have to say I have been great at maintaining this time round. Too bad that's not what I was going for.:) I just bought a new thing for the Wii so maybe that will kick start something in me. Well that's about it for now have a great night and a great weigh in tomorrow.

I found the key to my treadmill, I knew I'd put it in a safe spot. Finally did find it with my hair things, lol. That's my drawer where no one ever finds toys or anything fun so I was smart to put it there thru the holidays. The kids love my treadmill but I have to watch them or they want to use it when I'm not in there which is not good and I won't allow. it's been folded up in the spot where it goes since the xmas tree took it's spot in Dec. hey girls!! wow we're in week 6. how time flies by. i'm happy to report i've had a 0.4lbs loss. not much, but better than gaining! slow and steady. its been 2 days since i started my carb experiment, so looks like its working :) to make it easier for myself, i only let myself have one carb containing meal once a day, usually either breakfast or lunch and the rest of the meals is protein and complex carbs like veg and salad. Mercy - thanks for the message about jillian saying 2 days rest is good! CONGRATULATIONS MERCY on getting down to 139, that is FANTASTIC!!!!! WOOHOO :celebrate: Angela, glad to hear that 6 meals are working for you :) Bigmid you're welcome!! hope you get your heart rate monitor. and thanks for the information about how when you workout on an empty stomach t works fine for you. i'm gonna try it myself next week. that's so cool how you got into the training. and you're welcome regarding the podcasts. and i hear ya on not losing anything on this challenge. same here. but i was listening to this one podcast about how its a good idea to lose 10% of your overall body weight and then take a "break" from losing weight and just maintain that weight loss for 3 months. i suppose i've been doing that unintentionally. so its been 3 months now, so now time to get serious and kick butt on losing weight. its all about setting a new "set point" for your body. its about recalibrating. Thinner- that's cool that the stuff about carbs i pasted is the plan you're following. and thank you :) this morning i had a protein breakfast (2 chinese lettuce leaves, tuna, and mustard with melted cheese ontop - it wasnt all that bad, abit dry, would have liked it on bread and DOLLOPS of mayo hehehe, but sacrifices have to be made for the greater good in the future. babygrant, same here, my TOM hunger has calmed down. good job on the walking :) ISabella sorry to hear about your back, hope you feel better soon :hug: Ars - good job on walking in the cold! i dont have any valentines day plans (single and happy :)), just going to have a nice lunch with my parents and grandma :) and Babygrant that is sooo sweet you making heart shaped pancakes for your kids, bless :) Babygrant i can totally understand what you meant about the money that could be better spent. sorry to hear about your job. dream710 - good luck on getting into the 170s next week! woohoo :celebrate: and thats awesome about the spagetic squash, let us know how you like it :) Selina thats awesome about getting the treadmill up and running! :) i'd love to have a treadmill to walk infront of when i watch tv hehe |
Well here it is another weigh in morning and I have a .6 loss to show for it. What ever happened t 1-2lb losses. I miss them so. Oh well here is to a new week and another new start. Hope everyone has a Happy Valentines Day.

I used yesterdays weigh in and skippd my weigh in today. I am SOOO bloated from that stupid chinese food last night. I had the shakes and headache from the msg too. Good thing I only eat chinese food once a year. ;) But down 1.4 lbs. Hoping to kick up the exercise again this week.

Hey girls!! Sorry I haven't been around much lately. Just have been a little depressed and checked out for awhile. Tired of dieting to no avail. It's my own fault. I do great all week and the mess it all up on the weekends. Been snowed in for what seems like ever. Got two major snowstorms last week. 1st one was 23 inches & the second was around 18 inches. Now it is suppose to snow again Monday night! ugh!!! I am ready for spring. We have already missed 5 days of school and may be missing on Tues. Looks like I will be working until June 30th this year. Anyway going to start again tomorrow. Going shopping today, made plans to start working out again tomorrow. Took a freebie this week cause I pretty much ate all week while I was snowed in. Don't want to get on the scale until next week after a full week of eating well, drinking tons of water and working out.

I drug my stability ball out the closet yesterday. I decided I really need to focus on my core (very weak and flabby) :( but have no idea what to do with it. Do any of you have any exercises that you would recommend? I'm also thinking about purchasing a medicine ball or kettleball (or is it bell?) Anybody use either of these? Any comments are welcome. Well I'm off to start my sp squash, followed by playinig wii with dd and then onto my workout....hope I can get this all done before ds wakes from his nap Mary-its good to hear from you! |

Selina-Glad that you found your key for the tm. I have the same problem with my dd. She always wants to be on there, but I'm afraid if she will hit the level 10 and fly off the thing if I'm not around.

:yay::yay: Today I am offically 20 pounds down from the begining of my journey in August!!! :yay::yay: I am so excited!! ahah and am happy to report a 2.4 pound loss this week.. this new nutritional format I am following works for me.. I finally found "my" perfect equation!! and tomorrow morning I start Insanity.. lol wish me luck, I am 80% pumped and 20% nervous as it is intense and I am scared I will regress and quit... I will be looking to you girls for supprt as I want to do this so badly!!! :)

Happy Valentine's Night! Haha. The day is almost over. I woke up this morning was able to get out of bed without pain although if I'm up on my feet for a while I can feel my back getting tight but I've been able to get around much better today. I made heart-shaped banana blueberry pancakes for breakfast this morning without too much problem and was able to make dinner also. Thank you for your kind wishes towards my back. I really appreciate them.
Can't wait for the new week to start. I have only 1 more pound to go to goal and maybe this will be the week. Then I'm lowering the goal down to 125 pounds. People call me skinny!!! Hahahaha, that I'm not. It's all relative and I'm being compared to what I used to look like. Looking forward to seeing you all next week. Take care and keep up the good work. Don't become discouraged by a little setback. Just pick yourself up and keep going. xoxoxoxo |
Isabella, people call me skinny too-4 people at church today asked me how much I've lost (and I was 3 pounds high when I told them b/c I hadn't wi'd!) and I told them and they were WOOOO. :)
of course I was standing IN FRONT OF the bake sale table. They said, "how did you do it?" I said, "I haven't eaten ANY of that since MAY!" and they all looked very sad. |
I'm off to my new fitness group this morning! I feel a bit nervous actually, but I'm just being a silly girl. :D
