Congrats IGetFit! That's awesome. ;) WTG!! :)
I ate horrible yesterday (mainly lunch - which was BK - my weakness living on an army post, there are BKs everywhere)....but somehow my breakfast and dinner were better and i was moving around a bit more and up/down stairs a lot (was working on hubby's quilt and had to keep coming downstairs to fuss at kids). lol but am somehow down to 148.8 - so i'm happy ;) i was up to the 151s on Friday. i hate all the day to day fluctuations. hope everyone had a great weekend ;) DD has girl scouts this afternoon, so have lots to do before and after that. |
congrats Ms Perception for reaching your goal :) That's awesome! ;)WTG!!!

Thanks Sunni, Ms Preception, Tina & AW. I couldn't believe it when I stepped on the scale, I started to cry. They were happy tears, very happy tears. :)
Ms Preception WOW congrats! You must be over the moon. Tinabinab, I hope you have great vacation and Happy Thanksgiving. Sunni, woohoo you are less the 10 pounds from your goal! Congrats! Shan, I want to hear all about your fellow. Antonia, I glad to hear you have lost 1 pound already calorie cycling. It worked for me as well. I have missed all of you! GO RED TEAM! |
Preparing for Thanksgiving. Today I sat down and started planning out what I need to survive Thanksgiving weekend. I'll be up at my parents house wednesday-sunday, so I have a lot more to survive than just the one meal. Here's what I came up with:
- Be in the gym every day from now until I leave, b/c I won't have gym access there - Foods to make sure I have at their house: eggs, lowfat cheddar and english muffins for breakfast, fat free salad dressing, fresh veggies - Items to bring- medicine ball, resistance band, and laptop for downloading workout videos - Workouts you can do anywhere- stairs, lunges, squats, push-ups, crunches, wall-sits, suicides, plank, walk - healthy leftovers ideas- Cut up turkey on a salad, grilled turkey & cheese sandwhich (w/ lowfat cheese of course) If anyone has additional ideas for leftovers I'd appreciate it. |
Aclai-So smart to PLAN!! I know I've been doing the same thing because we have 3 days of out-of-town eating to plan for. The salads and sandwiches are smart. Does you fam make soup with the leftovers? That might not be too hard with some FF broth and veggies.

Hi everyone. I wanted to drop by and say hope everyone has a good start to the new week. I lost 2 more pounds this week for a grand total now of 71lbs.
Things are still going great with my fellow. :) Really great. He's very supportive and helps keep me motivated. |
MsPerception - woohoo!! What a great feeling to be at goal!! My mini-goal is 150 and it's so close that I'm getting excited (and more than a little impatient ;)). Go you!!
Glad to know everyone's doing ok. Aclai - have you tried turkey soup? Just substitute turkey for chicken in a low cal chicken noodle soup recipe. It has veggies, filling broth and won't require extra cooking for the turkey. :) I like your planning. I have a few advantages at my parents' place - there's a big park nearby and my parents eat foods very similar to the ones I make, so it's not a big issue. The problem is we'll be spending some time at my BIL+wife's place and I have no idea how she cooks (low-cal like my mom or full-on fat). I'm also not very familiar with their place so I will have to come up with in-room exercises. I guess I'll be taking my laptop too. Thanks for the idea! :) ---- Back in '07, I was dieting the unhealthy way (really stressed out so barely eating) and as my mom had just gifted me a brand new digital scale (I asked for one) I decided to play with the settings. One thing it could do was calculate a 10% weight loss from your current weight. At the time, I weighed 169, so a 10% loss would leave me at 152.2. I hadn't thought about that goal in a LONG time and just yesterday I hit "user1" on my scale just to see my progress in the last 2 years, haha. Turns out, I am ONE lb away from that 10% goal!! It was SO excited because at the time I remember going *huff* "I'll NEVER get there, that's SO much weight to lose!!!" and here I am - within a lb. Cool. :D |
I wish I had some tips for staying on plan over the holidays, but the only way I know how to do it involves you preparing all the food, and that just doesn't happen for most people. I've been hosting Thanksgiving for the past several years, and by the time I've got everything prepared I don't really care if I ever see food again! Actually I do plan what I'm going to eat........I use The Daily Plate to track my food, and I'll sit down at the computer sometime before the meal and plan out exactly how much of each thing I'm going to have then I don't have to make decisions with all that food staring me in the face, I just eat what I've planned out.

Good idea, Monte!
