CruiseCAT - That Alaskan cruise sounds amazing. I know you are going to have so much fun.

Do you motivate yourself or does someone/something else do it for you?

Everyone here on 3FC is a huge motivator, especially when I see before/after pictures on the goal thread. I also try to motivate myself, but it gets hard sometimes.

I may seek encouragement and validation from others, but I'm really the only one who can motivate myself to do anything. It doesn't matter what it is, it's just not going to happen until I'm ready and willing to make a change. I'll use when I quit smoking 8 years ago as an example. I did a lot of half-hearted attempts to quit when the ex or the kids would complain about it, but the day I decided I seriously wanted to quit I set them down and didn't look back....cold turkey. As far as weight loss is concerned, I'm thinking I've used my weight the past couple of years to either not feel so small and powerless (sounds weird) or to ward off sexual attention (also very weird for me). And I think I'm ready to move past that now. Finally.

QOTD - It is all me. I started out trying to get fit for the FBI Special Agent program, but even after I decided that wasn't the career for me, I've kept going because I just love how much better I feel now.

I would say I mainly motivate myself.. but I have lots of support from my DH and my DS, plus my mother and brother said that they have seen such a change in me that they have also started a lifestyle change, and that motivates me to keep going for them.

well first of all I find motivation/inspiration here on 3FC. I love hearing how well everyone is doing and reading the post especially the goal/mini-goal threads. Somedays when I feel discouraged I log on read a few post and instantly remember why I am doing this. I am doing this for me. I have been overweight most of my adult life and have always wanted to loose. I have tried a number of "quick fixes" and had some gains/loss. I decided this was it I either shut up and loose or shut up and stay the same. I obviously chose the first and am in it for the long run. Just like everyone else I wish The weight would come off quicker, and exercising was easier and that oreos could be counted as a vegetable but sadly loosing weight is just like motherhood- the hardest thing you will ever do, but the rewards are more than worth it and again like motherhood this healthy lifestyle is something I will try to do well everyday for the rest of my life.

Sorry for the book

Bummer. I was hoping since I had my weight and everything you needed for 05/25 that I could still join.

Hola Red Rockets!!
So good to see an active thread.

Favorite Workout: I love my BL dvds, especially the yoga. I also like walking and now that it's nice out I can go to the park and walk along the river or go out to our property and hike it, it was some really decent hills.

Motivation: I do motivate myself but it doesn't last long. So being in a challenge and reading how everyone is doing motivates me.

Cakes~ good to see you, hope life gets more simple for you!

Lucky~ hope you get to feeling better soon!!

I too thought the challenge officially started on 1 June so I've not been going full force on the working out, been out of that routine for the last 8wks and easing myself back in. I will take the idea of planning out workouts for the month of June though. I have a mini calendar that I put stickers on the days I complete my workouts, that's a moviator too. I do plan to walk 100 miles for June, averages 3.3 miles a day.
Well gotta go do some domestic goddess stuff and errands. Have a beautiful Friday and I'll talk to ya'll later on.

It's all me. I do use cardio coach for workouts though, he does help motivate me to work harder.

It comes from within, although it is no strong suit for me.

Hi All,
QOTD3: Do you motivate yourself or does someone/something else do it for you?
I guess I have to join all the self motivaters, I love my family, and my DH is somewhat helpful, but he has never had to lose much weight and doesn't understand the addictions involved. I love coming here and getting the support also.

I spent over 2hours hoeing and weeding in the garden this afternoon, I'm dirty, sweaty and sore from it. This was on top of over an hour yesterday. I'm counting it as exercise because there is a lot of bending and pulling involved, but my garden is looking real good, and I'm going to have lots of fresh healthy veges this summer.
YTomorrow I'm going to start making shorts and a summer dress for DD, I got the cutest fabric on sale, enough to make 2 or 3 outfits for her.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

I would have to say I motivate myself most days. I'm finally to point where I realize no one is going to lose the weight for me, I am the one that has to do the work. However, if i hadn't found 3fc I don't know if I would be as successful as I have been. This board keeps me charging ahead. Thanks everyone!!

QOTD

Why did you join this challenge and what is your goal.
I joined this challenge because I like challenges, they help keep me accountable, & I figure all of you can too! Right?? And I like to help other people get to their goals! My ultimate goal is to lose 15 more pounds!

What is your favorite workout?
Right now it's Gold's Gym on the Wii. It's boxing!

Do you motivate yourself or does someone/something else do it for you?
Sometimes I can motivate myself, but other times I need people to help me. My husband does a pretty good job when I tell him I need help! And just being on this site again has motivated me A LOT!

QOTD

I need motivation. I want to lose weight. I want to be healthier. I want to shop in regular stores. I get inspired from many of you on this site. But, it's like I'm missing something, something to get me going full force. I do pretty good for a time then I just quit. What's wrong with me?
