Hey gang. Sorry for the short post but I'm in budget h*** right now at work.
I'm not eating very well & haven't exercised this week. I pulled something in my back this weekend & it hurts to cough sneeze or move certain ways. I'm going to try to keep plugging away & get back down to 229 this week. I'd love to have lost 20 pounds by the end of the challenge, so we'll see. Take care everyone. |
Hello Team!
Well we didn't won this week, but we did a lot better than last week :) Orthodiva -:congrat: My goal for those last four weigh ins, is to lose at least one pound every week. That will put me at 134 or lower. I think I'll lose one this week if TOM doesn't do to much damage.. My workout is going pretty well right now. I will do day 18 of 30DS tonight. Will try to complete the 30 days by the end of July.. I am also doing 4 mile WATP some days a week. Have a nice day! |
My goal for the last 4 weeks is to be at 195. That is 6 lbs. Totally do-able. I'd love to say 190 but I just don't think that is realistic for me.
Off to exercise!!! |
Hi Team!
Well, Yesterday was day 8 of doing at least 34 mins of exercise per day. Last night I accidentally wore my walking shoes home and forgot to bring them back today, so I am going to do an abbreviated walk at lunch in my work shoes. Since I have laundry and such to do after work, instead of skipping working out, once I put my laundry in, I am going to go for a swim. I looked up calorie counts for swimming and I am surprised to find that you can definitely burn a lot! I guess that is b/c you have the added water resistance and you use your whole body. So, I am going to be continuing my streak and hopefully today can be day 9! Congrats to Orthodiva on being TBL this week! Well, time to have some lunch and get moving. Have a great day teamies! As far as what I want in the next 4 weeks... I really want to get to my 10% goal of 288...That's 2 lbs each week, but I think I can get close. I also want to really stick with my new calorie ranges. If I keep up with the activity, I can eat on the higher end, which makes things easier for me. I also want to try to get back into my weight training, it's just so hard to spend that much time at the gym. I have a pair of cargo shorts that I used to wear a lot, that are still a bit snug. I can button, them am afraid if I sit in them, the button will pop. I would love to get back into them again. Have a wonderful day everyone! --Misty |
WTG Orthodiva!!! :bravo:
reda355 - I'm thinking of getting the 30 Day Shred...I love my WATP/Leslie Sansone workouts, but I think I need something new to boost my workouts. How do you like it? glitterlicious - Congrats on your 3 pound loss and your 3 mile run!! Bette k - Hope all goes well with your niece's pregnancy and ultrasound! trooworld - Hope your dentist appointment went well for you!!! I can relate to your feelings about going to the dentist. jenjen - Hope your back is feeling better soon! theresia - Good luck with your goal of losing 1 pound a week and getting to 134. I have a 4 mile Leslie Sansone workout I like, mine is from her Walk Slim series and is called "Fast & Firm! 4 Really Big Miles"...it's a great workout...and my current favorite. Manick - Good luck with your goal of getting to 195! blueyedlvrgirl - Great job with your daily exercise!! Good luck getting to your goal. My goal is to lose at least 1-2 pounds a week and I want to get to 150 by the end of this BL. :carrot: I've been kicking up my workouts a lot and drinking more water. I've cut out Diet Coke (shudder)...I know I needed to...but I'm so addicted to it (each day it's getting easier to not be drinking it). I'm eating more fresh and cooked vegetables. The fruit here in California is so incredible...I'm loving peaches, blackberries, plums, etc. The week before last I had some wonderful olalieberries (I had never even heard of them before this summer!). I've been going to the farmer's market on Thursday afternoons in Los Altos. I'm trying to get in more protein and I'm taking CLA more regularly. I need to figure out a way to include some whole grains without them sabatoging my weight loss... Does anyone else have this struggle with carbs-wheat, etc.? Best wishes everyone!!! |
Cheree, I strongly strongly suggest 30-Day Shred! I have it. I started it on June 10, did skip here and there but have completed 30 days (I think...I stopped counting...lol) I didn't follow Jillian's meal plan or anything like that so I didn't see the maximum result like the promised 20 lbs. But I lost 8 lbs since June 9, and about 7.5 inches since June 12(as of July 9). Mostly the only workout I did was the 30-Day for the month. I used to do TransFirmation 4-5 days out of week and lost anywhere from 4-8 inches in one month. 30-Day Shred is a lot shorter (28 minutes at lvl 3) but I sweat way more than doing the TransFirmation...45-55 minutes. It's a real good workout and you can def tell getting stronger! I just ordered WATP 4 Fast Mile one so that I can get some good cardio at home when I can't go outside for C25K. I'm hoping it will be a good one. Which one do you have?
Ortho! :congrat: I also started going back up on my workouts. Since I started 30-Day Shred, I haven't been doing other workouts that much...giving me only about 3.5 hours of workout per week...whereas I used to do 4.5 hours at least per week. I'm trying to put in at least 7 hours of workout per week including 5 days of cardio.I started my week 2 of C25K today and it wasn't that hard at all. The last time I did the wk 2, I had hard time and was even thinking about going back to the week 1..but not this time. :) I hope I will go past week 2 this time, as I stopped at 2nd one of week 2. |
:congrat:Ortho, great job this week!!
Cheree, I do also strongly recommend 30 Day Shred, this last week on L1 has been a challenge but I do believe I am ready to move on to L2. I only do no more than 30 minutes a day of exercise because I am thinking lifetime and really don't want to give up more than 30 minutes a day every day for a lifetime, somedays I do more but it just would happen that way not planned. Taragettingthin, you are very dedicated with a young daughter and also working your crazy shift and still exercising as much as you do, that is great!!! :) My goal is to be at 160 pounds August 1st and after my weigh in tonight and losing 3 pounds this week :) :) I have 3.4 pounds to go to be there before vacation. I am just going to think yes I can, I can do it. Not sure if I can attribute some of this to the 30 day shred as I started it last week but it has to be helping in some way!!\ Oh yeah I am learning to play golf and went to a Par 3 course on Sunday morning of course didn't get any under 3 strokes but first time ever playing golf. Well went to driving range tonight and at least now I can hit the ball consistently. Need to go back again sometime this week. I have always thought I hated golf but I am really liking it. Hopefully I can keep it that way. Well super tired tonight so heading off to bed, sorry I did not get all personals done will try to finish catching up tomorrow. |
taragettingthin - I have tons of WATP & Leslie Sansone workout DVD's (probably about 20 different ones). :exercise: The 4 mile one that I have that I really like is from her Walk Slim series and is called "Fast & Firm! 4 Really Big Miles." She uses a stretchie in the last mile. I go ahead and carry 3 or 5 lb weights throughout the 1st 2 miles and sometimes the 3rd mile as way to give me an extra challenge. Thanks for the info about the 30-Day Shred, I think I'm going to have to go ahead and get that one. You're doing GREAT with your weight loss and your inches lost (and with all of your workouts)!!! :cp:
reda355 - Congrats on losing 3 pounds this week!! :encore: Thanks for the info about 30-Day Shred! I hear it has push up's, and I am nervous about trying them, but I can do modified ones...hopefully it will help me build up my upper body strength (which I really need). I hear you about thinking what you are willing do for a lifetime (I've been doing more than I really think I can do for the rest of my life :()! Good luck with your goal of getting to 160 by Aug. 1st! :crossed: Have fun with the golfing! |
Cheree, Yay! The 4 Really big Miles is the one I ordered! Thanks for your information! I'm so excited about new workout! (Who sould've thought I would actually have a "library" of workout dvds...lol) Also, I'm in level 3 of 30DS but still doing the modified version. It still is a very good workout. :) I def can see the muscles on my arms since I've started working out with it.
Reda, I hear ya about life time commitment. I think once I hit my ultimate goal and go into maintenance mode, I may bring down how much I work out... down to 30 minutes. As I still have almost 60 lbs to go, I try to keep my workout minutes up. :) My goal for the next 4 weeks..would be.. Well. My goal was to lose 2 lb per week and end with 30 lbs loss. However, that gives me 14 more pounds to go for the next 4 weeks. That's quite a lot and I don't want to disappoint myself. So far, I have lost 16.4 pounds. So I want to lose 9 more pounds in next 4 weeks, giving me 25 lb loss in total. I have up'ed my cardio so hopefully it will help. |
Cheree- Push ups I hate them but I do the modified version as well, but I started only being able to do like 5-7 but now I do 15-17 modified. They are just so hard and making sure you keep your form good as well.
taragettingthin-I have thought about uping my exercise these next 2 weeks to hopefully get to my goal by the 1st. 16 pound loss is great I am not sure what I have loss total this time I believe something around 10-13 pounds now I am going to have to go look. :) Misty- That is a great job on your exercise habit. Keep up with it and every little bit does count and help. Manick- I know you will be able to reach your goal you have been and are working so hard. Good Luck!! Theresia- Good Luck on your goal as well doing the 30 Day Shred should help you lose that 1 pound goal each week. I will be starting Level 2 today for first day so I will have to let everyone know how it goes. Jenjen- It is weird how you get hurt and that throws you way off track even with eating of course with your exercise routine but it some how always sabotages the eating as well. I hope you get to feeling better soon which will help you get back on track. To everyone else have a great day! |
Hmm... goal setting time, huh?
I would LOVE to be in the 140's by the time the challenge ends. I weighed in (unofficially - official day is Saturday) at 152.8 this morning, so I think it is definitely doable if I work hard. Best of luck to all of you in reaching your goals as well! Have a great day, team! |
Hmmm my original goal was to lose 30lbs. I had sort of a stand still for several weeks. I will re- asses and set a new goal to lose 20 lbs by the end of the challenge. I am at 16.5 now. So 4.5 lbs is doable. I would like to have another few weeks of 4.5 losses like at the beginning. Just got to focus more!

Hey Team!
Good morning! Well, I made it out to walk (in my dress shoes) and to the pool yesterday! 9 days of exercise in a row! I guess it is paying off...I am wearing a pair of work pants that I haven't been able to wear for about 9 months! YAY! I gave myself a DILG day for that! ;) I struggle with not comparing my weight loss to my sister's, but I have to stop and think that I am me and that is her. We are different people and lose differently. It is hard sometimes, but I can do it! Julia--Let me know what you think about the 30DS when you try it. I am curious to see how someone our size gets through it. Most of the people that have tried it weigh significantly less and struggle, so I was curious as to whether I could make it through it. I am trying to re-incorporate weight training into my workout, little by little. Tonight is abs, tomorrow legs, Sat is upper body. We'll see how it goes. Does anyone here have a bodybugg? I am thinking about getting one. I have so many problems deciding on a calorie count, I thought it would be an invaluable tool. Wouldn't it be nice to not have to guess, but know, how many calories you burn, so you know how many calories you can eat? I would like to know if anyone thinks they are worth the money (reg. 299, right now they are only 199 at 24 Hr Fitness). Any info you have would be great. Well, I better get back to work. Good luck reaching your goals everyone! --Misty |
Misty - I woke up thinking this morning thinkng that I could play the dvd on my computer. I am having problems with my dvd player. I have been fearful of trying for the same reasons you stated. But I can't live afraid to try things. Endurance wise I can do Richard Simmons for 60 mins so I figure I can at least try to do 20 min of higher intensity. I might not be able to do some with the tummy hanging in the way. But It will just be one more thing to strive and acheive. The catch is to do it with no kids watching the first few times untill I get the hang of it. I have a hard time focusing to learn something new with thier distractions. I will wear them out today and get them into bed early! Hopefully have a report for you in the morning!

JuliaH--what a cutie! I was just reading your post and the avatar changed! Good luck on the 30DS--good attitude, and I bet you can do it! It is not too challenging in the the dance move dept. Jillian is no dancer ;) Just good ol' fashioned cardio and weight moves. As for the push ups keep on trying! I was doing The Firm Upper Body back in Jan and Feb and I would fall on the floor in exhaustion during the pushup part and now I can do all the ones Jillian does on Level 1 of the 30ds:carrot:
Morning team! I love that everyone is putting your last 4 week goals out there :D We have a GREAT team! I'll try to check in later, morning appointments today! |
