Morning Team!

Its going to be a busy one. Market, bike ride to the out door pool with the kiddies and maybe catch a movie. DS wants to see Journey to the middle of the earth (titile?)

Goal this weekend is to be OP ALL weekend since the last 4 days were horrible for food choices. I hate waking up in the morning after bad food choices. Even tho I have brushed morning breath is always worse. I noticed that when I eat clean and healthy there is almonst no morning breath!

Wishing you all a great day! Check in later after the kids are in bed!

Hey, teamies  today is supposed to be my day off exercise, but I'll be doing the crunches anyway. I forget...we get a point per crunch or just the person who does the most gets something? Sorry, I have memory issues these days.

I messed up yesterday and didn't get my exercise in due to pure laziness. I did keep on track with food, even though I had strong cravings in the late evening and just made myself take a hot bath and go to bed without eating...at least I did something right.

theresia 07-12-2008 11:35 AM

Hello,
Purple - we all get one point for each crunch we make, we all deserve it :)
I am babysitting a little boy for some days, but hopefully he will fall asleep early tonight, then I'll do it.. If not I'll have to make a game of it :)

JuliaDH 07-12-2008 05:16 PM

Bought 30 day shred! Who is all doing it? Will do my first one tomorrow AM. Already did enough today!

Oooh I got my eyebrows shaped today! Love the little face lift it gives!~ My new schedule now includes workout and pampering time. Both are sorely neglected areas!

Manick 07-12-2008 06:01 PM

Hey Team, happy Saturday! We walked for over 2 hours last night all around downtown and the parks along the waterfront. It was great fun and great exercise!

I was down to 201.5 today!!! That is the lowest number I've seen since beginning this journey in January...going to see if it sticks or gets lower before Monday's weigh in. Even if I bounce up and down the same 1-2 lbs from here for awhile I am happy with it and I'm going to try my hardest to not do that and to keep losing! I am eating very, very healthy this week and I've gotten all my water in every single day for the last 10 days straight, and I think it's made a difference!

I notice that too, Julia H, you really can feel it in your body when you are eating clean.

I am a Day 2-- 30 day Shred survivor...did level one for a second time today. Take it easy on the deep, deep squats unless you are used to it. I am feelin' it in the left knee again...:p Enjoy! Its a workout allright!

Going out to dinner with friends tonight...I will try to make very good choices!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

theresia 07-12-2008 07:26 PM

Hello Team, I just had a great workout,, first 30 Day Shred Level 2, then I was jumping rope for 10 minutes,, and then 500 crunches! :),, My abs are the strongest part of my body..
Have a nice evening everyone!

taragettingthin 07-13-2008 01:52 AM

Theresia, 500 crunches? Wow.. I've never done crunches on my own... don't know why. I'm going to try it tomorrow and see how many I can do without passing out. lol How did you like Level 2? :)

Julia, I'm almost done with the first 30 days of the 30-Day Shred and you will get to love it too. You can tell you get so much workout in not even 30 minutes.

Reda, I put my grapes just in a ziplock bag and then put them in the freezer, just like I do with bananas and strawberries. ( I use frozen strawberries for breakfast smoothie )

Manick, 30-Day Shred sure isn't low impact workout, huh? If your knee is bad, you may have hard time with Lvl 3. Lots of jumping, even in strength..but when I'm having hard time with my knee, I still move around and try to do something similar so that I am still burning in that area, even if not as much as it's supposed to..

For some reason, I keep forgetting about the workout challenges...sigh. Hopefully I will remember the next week one!! =)

staja 07-13-2008 09:57 AM

Hey ladies,

I know I've been scarce this week, but things have been super hectic and stressful. I think the scale even shows it - I look to be about 2 pounds up and I'm hoping it's just water weight. I've been drinking tons, cutting the sodium, and working out like crazy, so I think it's real weight.

That's all I have time for now - gotta get ready for work!

theresia 07-13-2008 09:58 AM

Good Morning Team!

taragettingthin - Yes, crunches is what I've done for the most time,, guess I have a lot of strength there,, the ab-part is also the easiest one in 30DayShred. I like Level 2 a lot. In the beginning my shoulders hurt to much in all those "plank position" exercises.. But now at day 7 they get easier for every day. I'm not doing the 30 days in 30 days,, If it work out as planned I'll do them in 45 days, I have to rest some days in between.

While doing 30 Day Shred, I haven't lost a lot of weigh, but I've gained a lot of muscles, and my body has been more firmer.. So it's helping a lot.

Everyone else doing 30 Day Shred - Keep in there,, it gets easier!

Today I will take an easy workout, think I'll do WATP..
Now I'll go and cook, some meat, and a lot of vegetables!

Manick 07-13-2008 06:22 PM

Hey Team,

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

DON'T forget to LOG YOUR WEIGHT by Monday Night!!!!

Off to garden and plant things this afternoon on our eroding hill of mud in the back yard under the deck :p

My weight is still down!!! whooooo hooooo!! I also got a good 4.5 mph walk in yesterday to help offset dinner out.

taragettingthin 07-14-2008 12:05 AM

Theresia, My ab, I think, is the weakest muscle..along with my arms, I think. I have difficult time with push-ups..I still have to do modified version. Sooner or later, I'm going to get that actual good form of push-up under my belt. :D I can't do sit-ups which is part of the lvl 3...but I still keep doing ab workout so that I'm not resting. You said you have WATP series. Which one do you have? I just ordered 4 Fast Mile one or something like that... Although I try to do C25K when I can, it can be hard with my DD so I thought WATP would be nice to get a good cardio at home. How do you like it?

My daughter decided to wake up at 3 in the morning and didn't want to go back to her room. I was going to let her fall back asleep but decided to go peek in. She was actually standing up calling me...so I picked her up and she wanted to go to my bed so bad, which is not usual. I walked out with her to the living room to rock her but she just didn't want to have it. When I tried to walk into her room, she was freaking out so bad, jerking her body and everything. I think she had a bad nightmare or something. Since I HAVE to get some sleep (I drive about 40-45 minutes one way to work...so no sleep is very bad), my bf took her to her bedroom...She fought for about 1.5 hours to fall back asleep. She then woke up at 730 in the morning... happy and all. Sigh... So after her friend's party, I dropped her off at the grandparents' house and got about 2 hours of sleep. And I still managed to get some exercise in with C25K and some crunches.

Tomorrow is my weigh-in, will post as soon as I get some time tomorrow. My co-worker's hubby may work on my car little bit more. He did the break last week but the tie-rods are really bad, I guess. The tire place's estimate was $195 including alignment... If I do with him, I will get to save about $40-50, so I will have him do it. I think he's available tomorrow or end of the week. Since it's in a real bad shape, I really don't want to wait any longer than I have to...(I drive about 350-400 miles per week...) Sigh... I see $ falling out of my pocket right and left. It would be nice if it was LBS dropping right and left. :D

Tara - You are such an inspiration to me! You have a crazy schedule, AND a child, and... I need to get off my butt and exercise!

Theresia - 500 crunches! Wow! I forgot about the crunches challenge, which is too bad, because I actually like doing them. Not 500 though...

OK, I've gotta take it up a notch for the last few weeks of this challenge. I had a goal to lose 15 lbs by the end, and I am 1 lb away, but wouldn't it be fun to lose a little more? :) If I could lose just 2 more pounds by the end of this challenge, I would be happy, as it would put me 25 pounds down and halfway to goal! :D

Purplefirefly 07-14-2008 11:38 AM

swimming, that is a new haircut, isn't it? Looks really cute :) sorry if you posted about it, I have not been able to read all the posts and catch up...and honestly I might not be able to until school starts again.

I stayed the same this week even though my pants are getting looser and I feel smaller. It's the dreaded week before TOM so it will be better next week. My ankles were so swollen this morning they were stiff to walk :(

Tara, I know the feeling of money falling out everywhere. Walmart had a big sale on school stuff so we fought a big crowd to get some, and even with the sales I could not believe how much $$ we shelled out for supplies, and we didn't even get it all, just sale priced stuff and a backpack for my daughter. I wanted the 5 cent notebooks to record my weight loss in and I got the last of the college ruled, but the wide ruled like my daughter needs were wiped completely out. She was happy about that because she doesn't want the cheap ones, she wants hannah montana

AH MAN I hate not getting here everyday-so much to catch up on.

I really have been too lax with my workouts and I need a swift kick to step it up! In our first exercise challenge I was logging over 100 points/day and now it is closer to 50...someone kick me in the butt and get me going again. I have increased the intensity of my workouts instead of walking for 60+ min. I have added running in the mix, but on my non running days I need to be doing more than just yoga and weights I think.

I am so excited to report that our garden is doing so well. Still haven't eaten anything out of it, but we are getting close-yay! Last weeks grocery trip consisted of most of my money spent in the produce (too hot to cook so we have LOTS of sandwiches and salads) and I will be glad when I can save that money because we are getting produce out of our own garden.

I am having HUGE sleeping issues-I am having the hardest time falling asleep at night. I go to bed when I am tired, but for some reason as soon as my head hits the pillow my mind turns on in over drive and I lay there for HOURS. It is really starting to wear on me, and make me MAD, not too mention it is killing goal of getting 8 hours of sleep a night. Does anyone have any suggestions? I thought that the more healthy I got the better my sleep patterns would get, not WORSE.

I have HORRIBLE sleep issues and I finally found something that really helps. It is by Solaray and it is called EuroCalm. It is all herbs and it is amazing! If I am lying in bed and can't fall asleep, I take 2 and close my eyes, I am out within 15 mins. The key is to make sure you take it when you are actually ready to sleep, b/c it doesn't take long to work. There is NO morning grogginess either. I get it from my local health food store and it isn't very expensive. It has saved my life. I was having such horrible sleep problems that I could barely function. I hope it helps!
