I tried to find most of you, but for those of you I can't find you can add me! :)

I don't even know how many pages of posts I've missed here. I'm in NJ working for the rest of the week. I'm not binge eating anymore, but I'm now doing the opposite and not eating enough. I had a few slices of Swiss cheese for breakfast at about 4:15 this morning while running out the door to go to the train station, and now it's almost 1pm and I've not had anything else to eat. I'm just so dang BUSY. I am going out with a coworker for dinner, though (she said "early" dinner around 5:30--umm, that's late for me!).

good afternoon blue team!

I have missed a few pages of posts over the last couple of days....things are still moving pretty fast around here!
Our little heat wave has ended....but now it is below the norm for June! Great weather for getting some exercise outside...but not in the evening...too cold, and wet!
I don't know if I mentioned this before, but we have a nest of birds in one of our hanging baskets! We noticed the mom building the nest, got some photos of the eggs, and also when the babies hatched. They are finally starting to look like little birds....eyes open, feathers etc....so very cute! I don't know much about birds, but I think they are finches.
Trying hard to stay on plan today...getting all of that water down!

Josephine...way to go!!
vixjean...hang in there!! Sorry to hear that you are having such a bad day! Sometimes tears are very cleansing
Chellez...I saw some congrats for you earlier. Did you complete some of your studies...or did you finish everything!?
Dora...I love your little 'happy scale' smilies! VERY CUTE!
Have a great rest of the day everyone!

Oh my gosh that is so weird because we have a bird that built a nest in my husband's old work boots sitting on our front porch and we have baby birds that just hatched too! I have tried to get pics though, but it's hard because they are in a boot. LoL

Amarie2pt0 06-18-2008 04:43 PM

Oh, and Dora - thanks for sharing the pics or your yard. WOW! that sounds like A LOT of work. :bravo:

How is your veggie garden going? I am struggling a bit with mine right now. Partly, its because the weather has been really strange, and partly its because I seem to be having territory struggles with my Aunt (whose garden it is) about the space. We never had problems before, but this year... I think she just wants to help, but so far she's walked on some of my plants and overplanted some of my squash hills. It just makes me sad, and I don't know how to talk with her about it - I'm afraid to hurt her feelings. So, I just have been avoiding it :(

mariarose 06-18-2008 05:15 PM

Hi all! My zany week continues, and today is turning out to be really off plan, but I am trying to make healthy choices, so hopefully my body won't be traumatized by the amount of food I am taking in!

mj5 06-18-2008 06:15 PM

Hi everyone. I have felt pretty blah all day today. Not sure what the problem is. I am hoping to get to bed early and get a good night's sleep--I slept terribly last night, so that is probably part of the problem.

krjpy 06-18-2008 08:25 PM

hi guys...had a good eating and exercise day today.

tawnya...i feel for you. read your posts about 2 pgs back. do what you need to do to be happy. maybe DH's just upset because he sees that you're continuing about your life in spite of his behaviour. ((hugs)) seems to me like he's trying to pick a fight.

Shay 06-18-2008 09:44 PM

Me Amarie--I wish you were taking the class instead of me. I am doing better than I thought I would.

I went to a Mexican buffet today for lunch and did okay. I also ended up going to Wendy's for dinner d/t time constraints and got a grilled chicken sandwich bare with only a tomato. Not bad.

Mrs Snark 06-18-2008 10:15 PM

A Mexican buffet is my idea of **** right now. Way to go getting out of there alive.

onthetee 06-18-2008 11:21 PM

I just got an extra 40 minutes in of exercise. meara was not asleep when I got home from rehearsal so rather than wrestle her to sleep, I plopped her in the stroller!

tkglenn 06-18-2008 11:53 PM

hi everyone-can't sleep again and leo's out cold (he's been drinking all night). in a way it's good, I don't have to hear his griping about me being online because I can't sleep. I'm gonna go plurk now I think.

Nori71 06-19-2008 12:12 AM

Sorry you're having such problems sleeping, Tawnya. Occasionally I have a hard time and after a couple nights of struggling I resort to Excedrin PM for a few nights and it seems to balance out my inner clock. God knows we need our sleep!

I received 3 complements at the gym from "strangers" saying they cannot believe how much weight I've lost. It's not that much weight actually. But whatever! It feels great and I know I'm shrinking very quickly even if the scale is moving slowly. My 16W jeans are kinda baggy on me now and I only started wearing them a few weeks ago.

Yep, anywhere with warm, salty chips and good, hot salsa means I'm toast. Props to you Shay, for doing well!

tkglenn 06-19-2008 12:23 AM

Nori-great job on the weight loss. I know my yoga instructor probably notices from the first time she saw me. When I did yoga on monday she just gave me this look like, "i see you're working hard at losing weight and I can see the difference, great job!" I didn't think of trying sleeping medicine. Maybe it's cause I'm so addicted to this computer, maybe that's why I can't sleep.

Can stress make you retain water or get bloated?

tkglenn 06-19-2008 12:34 AM

ok, it just hit me in the head. Leo said that he seen me looking at some bald headed dudes profile right? Well, I was here posting on threads and at the top of the page is a ad for medifast with a bald headed baby----maybe that's what he seen!!! Hahahaha!!! That's funny....what an idiot!!!

vixjean 06-19-2008 12:47 AM

Hi Bluesers,
I am here to say that I am feeling a little better now than I was last night and this morning. It is really helps to come here and have a place to be myself, and have ...FRIENDS! TRULY, you are an awesome gang! I know no one likes a mope, but I just get like this sometimes and can't pull myself out of the funk. BF & I looked at two houses online (then we went and drove past them), that we could possibly afford. That was nice and cheered me up a little bit too.

tkglenn 06-19-2008 12:56 AM

vix-I'm the same way. it's good to know that there are people out there who will listen and give the best advice even if sometimes you don't wanna hear it but it does help coming here. We are here for you and for each other.

Shay 06-19-2008 07:07 AM

Josephine & Nori--I went in with a plan. One plate and a small dessert. Funny thing is I didn't even eat everything on the one plate.

Nori--You haven't lost much weight, you're joking right? I qualify compliments too, "Thank you, but it wasn't that much or Thank you but I had a really hard time, or Thank you but I don't know why..."

Vix--I definitely feel like I'm not worth much on some days. Coming here helps. Spending time with BF helps too because regardless of it all that fool loves me unconditionally. I don't have a lot of friends either. I can count them on one hand. Quality over quantity works for me.

pintobean 06-19-2008 07:52 AM

:sunny: Morning Ladies, hope everyone is doing good. The weather here has cooled down little bit and I'm so glad. It was getting very hot and humid. I exercised yesterday despite feeling lazy and not in the mood for it. I thank DH for pushing me and telling me "just go do it" as I've asked him to push me to go exercise whevever I feel lazy or feel like skipping it. So he held his promise :D I'm still eating OP for the most part. I haven't weighed yet cuz I'm trying to get away from weighing every day! I know it's bad and it's kind of hard to stay away ;) So as of today it's been 2 days and I haven't weighed. My Official WI is not until sunday. I'm hoping for a loss.

Vix, I'm glad you're feeling better today  We all feel sad, frustrated and sorry for ourselves at some point or the other. It's allowed :D I'm thankful for the day I found 3FC cuz it's made a few changes in my attitude and life. I feel little more happier and feel I can vent and talk to all of you here. So feel free to mope or vent or share a laugh with us. We're all here supporting each other and God knows we all need the support ;)

Shay, amazing you were in control at the mexican buffet :D It's a killer for me too. Salsa and chips ummm and Jalapeno Poppers with chicken stuffed in it instead of cheese

Nori, girl...take the compliment :) You've worked hard and you deserve it. I'm happy for you.

Losses continue, so I guess freakishly low cals is the way to go for me. Lots of exercise minutes already today, so yippee!

tkglenn 06-19-2008 09:25 AM

good morning everyone-finally fell asleep last night. when i was on here I got really tired but when I went to bed, I couldn't sleep. I tossed and turned for about 20 minutes before I fell asleep. and get this one......Leo has been drinking most of the night last night and on top of it he was extremely tired, that is not a good mix with him. but anyway, he was so tired that he peed in bed while he was sleeping---WTF?! He's 30 years old and teases DS2 about peeing in bed....now I tease him. Hahaha. lmao.

Just out of curiosity, how freakishly low are you going?

Nori71 06-19-2008 10:17 AM

I'm a total b*$#% if I go anwhere around 1200. Hopefully my body will get used to that since I'm pretty sure that's what it'll take in a while.

Glad you're feeling better today, Vix! Sorry about the DH issues, Tawnya. Don't know how you do it, but you seem to be putting yourself first and doing what you need to do! WTG!

I'm really excited by that story, and it makes a ton of sense to me. It's like the car metaphor-- fuel your car before you start your trip, not when it almost over. Having a 600calorie breakfast seems kind of excessive for most days (and time consuming), but I can totally see a 300 cal. breakfast and a 300 cal midmorning snack.

mj5 06-19-2008 10:32 AM

I only have a quick minute, but wanted to pop in and say hi! I am feeling better today, which is always a good thing!

So far I am totally on plan today! YIPPEE!

GirlyGirlSebas 06-19-2008 10:39 AM

Good morning, Bluesers!

Nori - Compliments are extra nice...Congratulations!
Anna - Glad to hear that the scales are cooperating again.
Vixjean - Glad to hear that you're feeling better.
Tawnya - Kick his butt out of the bed!
Jill - Where are you?
MJ - You rock!

I had my appointment with the doctor yesterday. I have an awesome doctor! He is very knowledgeable about depression and I felt confident with his recommendations. I did start the anti-depressant medication this morning. For the first time in quite a while, I'm feeling optimistic about my life.:) I'm really hoping that this medication is the right one and the right dosage for me and that I'll find the "real" Rhonda again soon! I'm also very optimistic that I can re-gain control of my eating and actually start to lose weight again. And, another good bit of news, I've decided to go back to school. :carrot: I've wanted to go back for a long time, but was always putting myself last on a long list of responsibilities to the Hubby and DD's. Well, Hubby and I had a long discussion and he is willing to work with me so I can do this. I'm considering becoming a teacher, so I'm probably looking at about 6 years going part-time. It will be a long haul, but I'm terribly excited about it!

Hope everyone is having a great on-plan day.

:cheer3::cheer3::cheer3: GO BLUE! :cheer3::cheer3::cheer3:

Rhonda - I'm glad you went to the docs! I hope you feel better quickly! And HUGE props to you for deciding to go back to school!!!

I would have a hard time bringing myself to eat 1/2 of my daily calories at bfast time. Usually it's hard to me to make it to 300 calories. If someone could convince me that it'd work and I wouldn't be starving in the late afternoon & late evening - that's historically my hungry time - then I'd try it. Are you doing to try it Anjuli?

Nori71 06-19-2008 10:59 AM

Is Faerie on her big trip now? Miss her!

Hey, does anyone here drive a small suv (cross-over) and really like it? We are in the market, but have only made it as far as reading reviews on edmonds.com. Three are so many... We will buy used since we only have 20K for it. Any input appreciated.

Well, I just read about the article today. I don't know if I can do 600 cals in the morning. I enjoy my dinner, always have. I did however do 300 cal breakfast and 100 cal snacks. Don't know if it was working or not but I do know I didn't feel too hungry often. I have now decided to go down to 250 cals for Breakfast and Lunch to reduce my total calorie intake. I want to see how this works. If it doesn't work then maybe I'll up my breakfast and lower dinner. I think it's what works for you individually. I was like you wondering too if someone was already trying it here and seeing definite improvements. :)

Yes, Fae is on her India trip right now. I believe she's going to be there for a month or so.

Nori71 06-19-2008 12:20 PM

I feel good eating approx B-300, S-150, L-300/400, S-150, D-400, S-200 for approx 1600. That is a perfectly OP day with no extra bites or nibbles. When I add those it's usually more around 1800-2000 calories.

I have a weigh in/measurements/body fat appt with trainer on Tuesday and I feel I'm on the cusp of getting serious with calorie counting again. If I'm right about my numbers I don't think I've even lost 10 pounds in the past 2 months. I've been on a very slow losing streak and while I know "they" say 1-2 pounds a week is great, I feel that at this weight -- with 80 more pounds to go -- I can do it much quicker by buckling down on my diet. Cardio and weight training is not an issue. Food quality isn't the problem. It's all about quantity.

GirlyGirlSebas 06-19-2008 12:31 PM

Nori, I always hear the 1-2 pound is safe/healthy thing, too. But, I've seen many others lose 3-4 pounds a week and manage to do very well with maintaining, too. Considering how inadequate medical research has been for weight loss, I think the 1-2 pound theory is just one more thing they've gotten wrong. Right now, I'd be happy with 1-2 pounds. Of course, I'd actually have to be on-plan, huh? :D If you can find a way to lose more each week, go for it! I'm sure you'll do it in a healthy manner.

Amarie2pt0 06-19-2008 01:06 PM

Rhonda and Nori - yeah, I think it may be best to take the 1-2 # rule with a grain of salt. I read once that that was to prevent losing muscle. Well, when I started this process I had a higher lean body mass than my goal weight, so obviously losing some muscle was not gonna be an issue. Now that my lbm is getting closer to the range it should be in, my wl has slowed into the 1-2# range.

Doragone 06-19-2008 03:41 PM

Good afternoon ladies!

Rhonda - big congrats on going back to school. Your excitement will carry you through. I didn't becoma a nurse until I was 34. Your DH is a dear to get behind you , too. Glad you're feeling less blue too. The only blue you can be is pirate blue!!!

Thanks Anjuli for the article about big breakfasts. And Maria and Nori, I can tell you, it is working for me. But what I am doing is what I explained before - 5 small meals - 300 calories each - 3 hours apart - part high protein, part complex carb with each meal. I'm eating a lot!!! and I'm losing - 2 lbs last week, 2 lbs this. The biggest meal is my lunch - but you could make it your dinner - I have a large mixed green salad with a full can of chicken breast meat and some lightly cooked broccoli. I have the steel cut oats and egg-beaters (Southwestern style) for breakfast, or sometimes I have the egg-beaters between 2 slices of dense whole wheat bread (Oroweat Winter Wheat) I also drink soy shakes accompanied by a fiber bar. I'm very content and also drinking a lot of water, Oolong tea for breakfast.

Amarie - thanks for compliments on the yard and for recognizing what I was trying to relate - the vast amount of work it takes to bring that many rocks out of the ground, up to the site, lay them neat - besides digging the trench, putting in drainage pipe, blah, blah blah. Sorry you're having such a time with auntie tromping on your garden. I have to get out there today and set a timer 'cause we're leaving for a 5 day beach trip.

So, gals - I'll be MIA for a few, but I've packed all my healthy eats already, so I'll be good. I'll post my weight early so we won't miss out on my 2 lb. loss.

Like Vix and Tawny - I so appreciate having this wonderful group of ladies to talk to. You are all - THE BEST!!!

Dora
