Jill -- you can get back on plan, I know it! Good job knowing what you had to do and DOING it! Traveling is hard, hang in there!
|
Good morning, Bluesers!
I am so sorry to report a gain for this week...and, I've already used my 2 freebies. Like Jill, I'm also officially a mess diet-wise. My men...Hubby and Dad...have been giving me issues lately and I've turned to the food. I wish I could find my "switch" that would enable me to get control over my emotions and stressors and not let them control me. A friend has recommended I delve into Bob's book, so I'm pulling it out again today and will work my way through it. I set-up my crockpot last night with my steelcut oats, so I'm starting off on the right foot today. Hubby has agreed to start walking with me again this evening. We may have our issues sometimes, but he's so great about exercising with me. I'm struggling, but I've not given up. |
Hi everyone. I'm swamped at work today, but wanted to pop in quick. I must be feeling a bit better...I am actually looking forward to going to the gym tonight. YIPPPEEEEE! It is MY time to focus on ME!
I'll try to catch up later. |
Jill, just remember the blood sugar issues. It's not an option for you anymore, this is scary diabetic stuff. You've got to get back on your path to good health.
Good news I've discovered is that when I have been eating well for 2-3 weeks, that any variance makes me totally ill. I got some icecream with the dd's once and paid for it later that nite. Last nite I had some cheesecake from our after movie excursion, and that killed me overnite. I'm getting the message finally! It's like the book I'm reading right now, "Secrets of a Former Fat Girl" who had her turnaround when she caught herself in the mirror while puking up into the toilet her half gallon of mint chocolate chip. Good book, btw. |

I'm thinking maybe Chipotle for a burrito bol (no tortilla) of chicken, salsa, lettuce, beans, and cheese, maybe some guacamole for good fats. Maybe I can even get away with just eating half of it and saving the other half for tomorrow's lunch. It's much easier to stay on plan when I actually HAVE a plan! Not that I feel like eating lunch at all--my stomach hurts. I blame the sugar alcohols from yesterday's Atkins bars. |
Popcorn must have been in the air this weekend. I have had the munchies for days now and on Saturday night we took DS to the movies to see Kung Fu Panda and I had some popcorn. I haven't had popcorn since August of 2007. Luckily, They didn't put much butter on it, and My DH had eaten about 4 inches down in the bag so I got very little butter, my only saving grace.
I did though get back on the elliptical last night and start Week 6 (again) of the C25K. I really thought I was going to struggle since I hadn't run in about a week or so, but it went well. I really felt good doing it ... That should tell me something Huh! I have the munchies again today, I recognize that some of it is bordom, but can't seem to stop myself. Luckily, I don't have any cash on me (other than 6 pennies), and only have my food I planned for the day here, so when I run out, I run out and have to deal with it. I plan on working out when I get home, so hopefully that will help keep me from the pantry. I have discovered a weakness. I love the Fat Free Fig Newton Snack Packs. I just can't stop eating them if I have them. Well, I finished off what I had yesterday and I will NOT buy them again. I have no will-power against them. Congrats to those of you that have been struggling for the last few days/weeks;) for taking control back. I am slowly getting mine back. |

I'm not much of a popcorn fan :( In fact we rarely get it at the theater (poor DH). He loves it. We have those microvable ones at home low cal version so if he gets the urge for pop corn he just pops those.

When I look at all I require of myself each day and I look at how much I have left to lose, I get overwhelmed and do nothing. Every day, I just can't seem to drag up the energy to tackle the mountain. So, why must I tackle the whole mountain at once? Why not just tackle one thing at a time?
For today, I'll focus on eating Southbeach foods only. I'll require nothing else of myself today. If I work out...good. If I don't....that's okay. I'm not tracking calories and I hate water! I'll just try a little bit harder to make changes each day. |
Rhonda, in the book I'm reading that I referenced earlier, she only started with exercise. Went to the track and walked one lap. Then a few weeks later, ran it. Then added on up to 4 laps, etc. Only after that seemed really easy and doable did she tackle her food. She lost 4 sizes just from exercising every day and keeping her food the same as it had been. Not saying that's the way YOU have to do it, but to say, you are right on. There's no rule saying you must make a clean break. In fact, I think even Bob Greene, and Bob Blue say the same thing. Congrats for figuring out what was overwhelming you!

Hi everyone.
Not much to report. I had a very active weekend, played tennis and rode my bike. I did eat some very rich food though, but not enough to go over my calorie allowance. There is a leaving party for a friend tonight, which will mean I will probably go over my calories; tomorrow is poker night so it will probably be bad tomorrow also! Wednesday I will have to work my arse off at the gym! |
I need TOM to be here already. Such a backache and cramps. Not normal for me. At all.
|
Anna - I hope you feel better soon and I'm sorry you're feeling so crappy on the day you were going to get so much done.
Nori - I hope you feel better soon too! Tkglenn - You sound so happy about the weight loss and how good you're looking! You deserve these results from all your hard work. Rhonda - WTG on your "Aha!" moment. I'm a fellow perfectionist and I often get caught up in the same mentality as you. It's a struggle to keep taking one step at a time without worrying about doing every single thing perfectly at once. As for me, I'm feeling quiet and kind of bleh today. I indulged in wheat twice yesterday (a hamburger bun and an english muffin) and I'm suffering for it today. Stupid bread and stupid wheat sensitivity. I did go for a walk to the park with the kiddos today and I'm planning on running to DS's soccer game tonight which should make for a nice 4K run. I had a smoothie for a nice big afternoon snack so it should hold me over until after the game. |
Yes, Pinto, that's the book! I'm on the last chapter. Which county library did you end up going to? I know the libraries carry it.
|
tkglenn--Good for you!
Rhonda--Good for you too!!! I did get to the gym (yea!) and it was great! My knee is sore and I am hoping it will go away, I really don't want to deal w/ going to see the ortho too! It's about that time for another injection, but I would like to wait a little while longer!!!! K, I need to make dinner...have a great night! |
guess wrong place
guess it was the wrong place to post it

Sorry no personals. I did read and catch up but after four days away I'm not even going to try.
I just got home this afternoon from my mom's. She picked up the kids on Thursday and I went down Friday. We ended up staying an extra day and I can't wait to crawl into MY bed tonight. Diet wise I was doing well. Friday and Saturday were both on plan. Breakfast Sunday was good. Then I had a baby shower to go to where there was only a small veggie tray so I decided to give in and eat. I was really hoping for a meat and cheese tray. I had fruit pizza, some yummy grape salad, a piece of cake that really wasn't that great and some fresh fruit. I planned on a low carb dinner but then everyone else decided they just wanted grilled cheese and ramen noodles so I ate that. :( Back on plan this morning and I am not going to beat myself up over it. I did drink a TON of water though. :) Exercise was chasing the kids at the playground in between rain showers and a two mile walk. More than I expected to be honest. I'm going to rest for the remainder of the evening and get back on board the exercise wagon in the morning. |
linda - it just wasn't prefaced by anything/explanation so i assumed you were thinking you were posting a reply over on the game threads! and i couldn't invest the time on it! i'm so lazy! (actually i'm at work!)
