Maria - I adore stuffed olives! Especially jalapeņo stuffed ones!
In college I would occasionally splurge on $14 dirty martinis at this one bar b/c they had feta stuffed olives as a garnish. Luckily for my finances, I realized that I can get a whole jar of them at Trader Joe's for $3.

And another milestone: Today is Day 90 binge-free for me. I doubt I've gone 90 days without binging since before high school, so this is amazing to me. But for the last 90 days I have been 100% on plan. If you had a video of my Tasmanian devil-like binge sessions in the past, you'd be as shocked as I am that I've made it this far!
That is so awesome! Three months without a single slipup-- wow!!
  • None of my promises for today really involve food:
    1) Sign up the offspring for summer reading
    2) Do my Pilates DVD
    3) Not strangle DH
    4) Be a freaking ray of sunshine to all who see me
  • Quote: 4) Be a freaking ray of sunshine to all who see me
Can you come do that at my house too? I'm already pissy with my family today but I think it has something to do with the kid who kept jabbing his cold toes into my ribs at 6 am and the toddler who bit me when I told her I was done nursing.

    YAY
  • Quote: Grats Tawnya for being our Biggest Loser this week!
I am SO proud of you, congrats on the great loss and the wonderful job you have done representing Blue this week!

    Promises to myself:
    1. I will NOT eat anything off plan today
    2. I will walk during my son's Soccer Tryouts and not sit on my butt
    3. I will finish my Damian Book so that I can begin reading the Dave Ramsey Book Anna suggested
    4. I will lock up the credit cards in the safe after I pay for the huge repair on our car ($920)
    5. I will make a Dr Appointment for my eczma on my hands that makes me feel like a lepper

I am back on track today and plan to stay that way. Books are my killer, when I have them to read, I just want to curl up and read, not workout, so I have had about 5 days of bad inconsistent workout. I feel like I have hit a place where I am too content. I need a swift kick to get me fully engaged again. I know that part of it is change and I am moving jobs around again, but I am closer to home (8 minutes away), so I have no excuse, I can workout in the morning and in the evening now, so I should be getting plenty in.

Help me ladies to stay strong and make it.
  • Good morning, Bluesers!

I overslept today, so I'm behind the ball on my work. Nothing like a little stress to get the adrenaline pumping the first thing in the morning!

First things first....a few shout outs:
Tawnya - Congratulations for being our Biggest Loser!
Josephine - 90 days! You rock!
Vixjean - My promises..1) Job stress will not make me turn to food for comfort. 2)I will stay on-plan 3)I will workout.

Zinke - How is your Hubby handling everything? They are really putting my Hubby through the ringer. I'm also not feeling very secure in my position with the company. For those of you who don't know, Hubby and I both telecommute from home for the same employer, but different divisions. We are thinking that downsizing might be coming along soon. I'm not sure if they will consider my job to be vital. If Hubby and I both lose our jobs, I don't know what will happen. Needless to say, I'm feeling some stress. But, like I promised, I won't turn to the food. Maybe I can learn to use exercise to release these emotions? Wouldn't that be somethin'!

I'll check back with everyone later.

    GO BLUE!

    WooHoo!!!

Quote: I need to lose just a teeny weeny .2 pounds to be down 40 pounds overall. Yippee!

And another milestone: Today is Day 90 binge-free for me.
Way to go on both!! You know non-binging is something that I need to really start doing. I've had a pretty rough couple of days. Go you for going 90 days!

Quote: WHAT ARE YOUR PROMISES TO YOURSELF TODAY!?!?!?!
    1. To cook dinner tonight
    2. To go home and exercise
    3. Decide if I need to talk to a doc about my depression
    4. Stay OP all day and continue to stay op for the rest of the week!
  • Debi--Sounds like your friend is a hater. How can she not notice you've lost nearly 50lbs??!!

Congrats Tawyna on being the Biggest Loser this week!

Jill--Huge, Huge Dawson's Creek fan here. Yeah, I know I'm too old for it. Oh well! I love myself some Pacey (Joshua Jackson).

Rhonda--I am using exercise to help with my stress. I do think that's why in the past two weeks I've exercised more. Getting my heart rate monitor helped too.

    Promises to self:
    1. I will exercise a second time today (Day 2 of new running program)
    2. I will not let the scale derail me
  • Promises for Today:
    1. I will stay OP today and rest of the week
    2. I will exercise today and entire week (not let TOM get the better of me)
    Congratulations Tawnya!!!

Oh, I love that little toddler chat...."If you can't respect my body, I can't share it with you."

Quote: 3. I will finish my Damian Book so that I can begin reading the Dave Ramsey Book Anna suggested
    5. I will make a Dr Appointment for my eczma on my hands that makes me feel like a lepper.
Yay on the book! Boooo on the repairs.

Can I make suggestion about the eczema? It is a symptom of something else, not a cause in and of itself. If it is driving you crazy, then obviously you need to treat it. Many docs will stop there and not look for a cause because you are 'better'. Most of the time the cause is an allergy, often milk or wheat. You might try a rotation diet to see what helps.

Much better to treat the cause and be done with it!

I did a Pilates DVD. I forgot how freaking hard it was. I looked at my arms the other day, and now that I don't carry Meara everywhere, it shows. I put on a good podcast and got through most of the segments (there are 5). I have some time ALONE tonight. If I get my writing done, I plan to finish my rain-interrupted run. I think if I do the first three segments of the DVD (butts, guts, arms) every few days, it will make a huge difference. It is the 10-Minute Solutions Pilates, if anyone is interested.

I am getting Tracey Mallet's Six-Minute Body Blast from the 'brary today. If I can get some ideas of a quick, six-minute toning thing to do after my run/walk every morning, I can manage that. I'll let you know what I think.

    Off to make yummy salad.

Whoo hoo!!! Congratulations, all the hard work is paying off!
  • Quote: If I get my writing done, I plan to finish my rain-interrupted run.
I may have missed this, but what kind of writing do you do?
  • Quote: It's weird--I feel like I'm so young (I'm 25), and yet, I feel like kids today are doing so many things I wasn't doing when I was their age, and that was just 10 years ago!
Yep! I'm right there beside you, Jill. I remember internet safety wasn't really taught outright, but was just followed 10 years ago (albeit not by everybody)... and it all seemed like common sense. But, maybe that's only because less people were using the internet then.
