  • Anna- Borax is supposed to be great for treating hard water, so the dish detergent might work well for you.

I was raised on Tide too. The as an adult I developed sensitive skin, and Tide turned my legs into a red itchy bumpy mess. My former roommate got me hooked on All Free & Clear, the no dye formula works well for my skin. I think the homemafe stuff will wotk as well as the All because it doesn't have a harsh smell and no dyes. Also I had my hand in the 2 gallon bucket yesterday and didn't have a reaction, so I think it will work for me. Turns out theres a lot you can do with Borax. I'm going to try it as a carpet cleaner tomorrow. It's also supposed to kill fire ants.

BTW - I have the teeniest of squash and eggplants on my plants. I'm so excited! Soon I won't have to pay retail for veggies! I plan to can and freeze enough for fall and winter too, if my plants produce enough.
  • Gosh, I feel horrible for spending 185$ at Costco tonight. All "healthy" stuff...but still...

Rhonda - I don't use fabric softener. I guess since my Mom never did! She always told us if was "bad" for fabrics? Anyways, I use Nellie's Dryer Balls.

Shay - thanks for clarifying! I knew you and DBF were "tight", so I wondered if something had happened. Mariah Carey look fabulous - I noticed her on AI this week. DH has a "thing" for her, so I'll probably get him the CD as well.

Tina- sorry about the sickness. Congrats on being OP.

I binged (250-ish calories worth) on peanut M&M's this afternoon at work. I dont' have this stuff in my house. I threw out the last few I had taken out of the bag, so that's good, but had to cut my dinner short in order to stay under my calories...
  • Girly - I've tried converting DH to using vinegar but he is having none of that. I usually end up buying the biggest box I can find of Bounce and it lasts for like 6 months. I think though since he is gone all week that I am going to switch to cold water and vinegar. I just gotta remember to turn the knob back.
  • I've also heard of people who tear each fabric dryer sheet in half.

Zinke - That's so funny that your DH "cares" how the laundry gets washed!! It shouldn't be funny though since my DH is a king of ironing. He irons EVERYTHING. All the girls clothes and his own, and mine if I ask. He went and bought such a heavy duty iron that it actually hurts my tendinitis.
  • Am I the only one w/out a life on a Friday night anymore?!
  • no...i'm here LOL hubby is out camping/fishing with our other neighbors at the lake here on post...and me and the kids stayed behind (not much fun camping during that TOM) LOL.....but i got the kids in bed now so i can try to catch up on the Tudors season 2 on Showtime
  • I'm here. BF is asleep in the bedroom and I'm here on the computer. Me having a laptop and wifi drives him crazy because I can go all over this apt with the computer. Sometimes I fall asleep in the living room. That's okay I'm one of those as long as we are in the same space that's great.

Nori--LOL! As my mom says I can't get rid of him even if I tried. I am so fortunate that his love for me is so unconditional. He loves me warts and all.

Tina--So happy to "see" you. I was about to do a shout out. I know that works because I did that with Diva once and she magically appeared! Day 19 is fantastic. I am on Day 25--well I guess technically Day 26--so I am researching those HRM because I know I will make it to Day 30.
  • Morning everyone! I skipped my AM exercise because I helped hubby move a bunch of 80 lb. bagged shingles and my front thighs are so sore I almost cried just thinking of Jillian...but I did still get up at 5:30 to keep in the habit. I did a bunch of work in the flowerbed and walking around garden centers as well, so I'm taking my day off today.

I have to run my 4 year old around for most of today. We have to buy a birthday present, then he has 2 Tball games, and a birthday party that starts right when the last game ends. that will eat up 3-4 hours of my day, so I won't be around much. When I come home, if the rain hasn't hit, I'll be watching hubby level the backyard with the tractor...he spent all last night helping the neighbor move trees and plow up another big section for their garden, which annoyed me because we have work of our own to do and I'm antisocial I guess

Nope, I went to bed at 8:30 One benefit of not having kids, I guess, my schedule is my own, mostly.

I'm off to do a million and one things today. First up, hit the local Farmers Market. I promised DH to can some strawberry jam and I want local berries. You know that's not all I'll come back with either.
  • Okay I did it again--Jillian's Cardio Kickboxing. It was better this time. I didn't feel like I was about to die until halfway through. And what's up with that itch in the video asking "Is that it?" Issues!

Purple--LOL! I am a bit antisocial myself especially if someone is getting in the way of what I want to do.

Purple talking about her children reminds (not really proper english but oh well) me to say I have so much respect for you mothers. I always complain about being so busy and not wanting to exercise but you all manage to fit it all in.

Okay off to take a shower, eat breakfast, and head to the nail salon to get pampered. I will check in later.
  • Just a flyby to check in and say hi. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. The weather here is glorious, so I am spending the day in the gardens trying to get them cleaned out.
We put the patio "together" yesterday and enjoyed the evening around the firepit

Spring has finally sprung in Northern MI
  • Yes spring has sprung here finally. There is only one patch of snow left in our yard but that part gets no good sunlight. I did see some pig ear mushrooms sprouting so that is a good sign.

I have a kink in my back I am trying to work out and I need to update the mp3 player and then I am going for my wog. Not much else on the agenda for today except maybe helping DH get the a/c's put in.

Irons are for quilting. DH stays right on top of the laundry. I have a tendency to let stuff sit in the dryer until I really need something in there before I put it away. Drives him crazy. I wish he would do a better job folding but beggars can't be choosers and and at least I don't have to do it.

I seriously think the reason I never wanted a 'grown up' job was the fact I would probably have to dry clean and iron those clothes. I am such a bum.
