Well the rules are the rules for a reason. Deadlines are set for a reason. I think thats what she is eluding to. And like it was said there are so many other groups and challenges on this site is it really that big of a deal to join another one?

Last time I said something along those lines within this challenge I practically got HATE mail!

Moving on, I think it would be great if people were really committed.

I know everyone is different and has different reasons for being where they are at, but it sucks to love 2 or even 4 pounds and see the numbers for the week show a NEGATIVE balance, (or is it POSITIVE? ) meaning, the group as a whole GAINED weight. It's discouraging to be one of the only ones staying on plan.

I think it would be really cool to add in an "inches lost" component. Measuring is a great way to see success when the scale doesn't show our efforts.

I also think having a nutrition component (fruits and veggies challenge) would be helpful. Health is about more than showing big loss numbers on the scale!

I am SO glad that someone mentioned this.... I couldn't agree more!!!!! We have over 20 women who weigh-in each week, but I see roughly 8 or 9 of those who actually participate actively in the chat and challenges. That does really bother me too. I wish there were some way to put that in the rules that you have to be an ACTIVE participant to stay in the challenge - but I'm sure people would have a problem with that. Thank you again Hun.e.b for bringing this up!!!

I think that even though it doesn't effect someone as a individual per say it bothers some that are very constant on meeting deadlines. I equate this to something like when you were a child and you turned in your work on time but bobby turned in his work late and it was ok. But the one time you turn your work in late its not ok. Or some people just like to be punctual.

The one reason why I'm thinking about a flexing deadline for signup is that New Years is really the biggest time for the "dieting industry" aside from pre summer months. Everyone is making resolutions and trying to find somewhere to belong. I'm sure this forum's population rises tremendously in that one month, so with new members joining everyday, its hard to nail down and say ok we will start on X date and turn down tons of people.

I understand I can't have everyone in my challenge, but I like to plant the seed and watch it grow if you get what I'm saying. I think that's why I'm still 191 and everyone has lost weight. I like to watch others improve, even if it side tracks me from my own goal.

But to answer why it gets under my skin when others try to copy me... I pretty much have run the challenge for over a year now so its like my baby. I like input, but I hate a thief.... especially when its my ideas.

If it was possible... I would do it. But I can understand where some people just don't have the time to chat all the time *COUGH COUGH Points at self* but only because of severe time constraints.

I give Kudos to Selina.... she's got a house full of kids and she still manages to dish out long loving posts all the time. I don't know how she does it.

Ok. I'm not sure I like one chat thread but I'm open to try it. I do think I agree with practice that some ppl will feel left out and it was hard enough keeping up with our own ppl. But like I said, I'm up for anything. As for lurking, u stalker u, Rhonda... hmm.. I never did that much. Hardly had time for our thread!!!

Hey, what day does our challenge end? Glad Chellez said we can keep our boards open til the next one starts.

LOL, didn't read but the first page of posts on this b4 I posted just now, Chellez. So just saw ur comment. Thanks! I'm Superwoman this year!! It's all a matter of timing. Two just left for school, 3 still not awake, run to the puter! Then two at school, 3 down for nap, run to puter!! Then a couple of days where even that isn't possible. Ah well, as long as I can do it several times a week I'm happy. I love chatting with you all.

Just made up my mind that I WILL find some time for myself if it kills me. And I'm not dead yet! The kids aren't either! Nor Dh! And I'm sooooooo much more better off than I was this summer, not to mention nearly 30 lbs. lighter. Feeling good. So grateful for the challenge to keep me focused. Next challenge I'll be even stronger (and lighter which means I have to work harder to lose more each week) so you guys better watch out!! I'll be a major team player next challenge too. I'm extremely serious about all this. And I have to say I will miss my teammates something fierce if we really do have to change teams, as well as Chelle.

Well, off to do more laundry and feed the babies, then start my Christmas cards so I can mail them soon,

Big hugs, Selina

Well as Red team knows nothing ticks me off more than people who dont participate LOL! And I've been pretty vocal about it. We tried to have it a Red team rule where you had to check in with your team once a week, and it worked to an extent, but then I was just like the post police and got myself even more upset about it. I just dont get signing up for a team challenge and not participating, it makes NO sense to me at all. I refuse to believe that a person cant find 5 minutes once a week to check in with their team. We all go through a week or so where time is a huge issue but for the entire 12 weeks? I dont think so, and if thats really the case then dont sign up for the challenge to begin with. Why should I be keeping track of your stats when i dont even know you? and then to never post to your team and then come post a big gain! Its just a lack of commitment if you ask me. You gotta come here to post your weight why not check in? Oh...tangent! LOL!! Sorry, its a touchy point with me.

I could go on and on about this subject but I'll save ya the drama LOL!

Ya know Selina that is a GREAT point (and yes I'm one of your stalkers, I love your posts) you HAVE to make time for you! You deserve that couple of minutes and its going to bring you oodles of success in your efforts to improve yourself if you actually put some time into yourself! Dr Phil always says...you cant give what you dont have!

I agree. I joined this challenge because I need the accountability and support of a team. Its not like we have the benefit of Bob or Jillian as our trainer or the benefit of being sequestered with nothing to think about except working out and our individual diet plans. No, we joined this team for one reason only...because we need and want a team!!! Please....if you're not a team player, don't re-join for the next challenge. There are many others who would like to fill your slot and are willing to be team players.

Okay...I'm going to go out on a limb here and be 100% frank and honest....so, please, no poisoned darts sent my way! As one of us who's been here for a while, I've seen many people come to the threads, post for a week or two, then disappear forever. New Year's resolutions are plenty, but, unfortunately, not many endure for a long time span. I wonder...how many "newbies" will join our next challenge...only to disappear shortly afterwards. Several of the people that initially joined all three teams were relatively new posters from the 100lb club.(where I've been posting for a while) Where are they now?

I'm not sure if its even feasible, but I'd love to restrict the challenge to only those who've proven that they are dedicated to the 3FC threads....to those who have been posting consistently for two or more months. It might not be fair to all, but I think it will make for stronger, supportive and committed teams.

Okay, I'm ducking behind my barriers now.....let er fly!

I do NOT think it should be for those who sign up late. I want for the Black Team to be able to participate in the same weigh-in "competition" with the Red and Blue teams
I think having a 3rd team would help keep individual team numbers to a manageable size though since the challenge is growing, yes?
I agree with Julz on this one. I joined the black team because I totally missed that there was a BL challenge. I was new and just finding my way around the forums, and stumbled on the thread the day after the cut-off.
I wish we could have been part of the competition, but our team was pretty chaotic in the beginning. I completely understand why our results were not counted. We also had lots more members so the "flight" challenge wasn't really fair either (though we didn't even win most of them - even with our extra members - LOL)
I think there will always be people that come "just a little" late, new chicks are joining every day. I am glad I was able to be part of the challenge, but I certainly would have understood having to wait until the next round.

I agree with you Rhonda, actually!! Esp. with the new year's resolutions coming our way!! It's almost like you should start the sign-ups on December 15 (that ensures somewhat regulars and not the new, here a day, gone tomorrow posters) and have the teams formed by what, the 24th or 26th? I'm not great on posting to my color thread, but I ALWAYS check in on the show's thread and post there several times a week. I post on the Lifters thread, but since I know it bugs people, I will make a commitment to post my updates on the colors thread too.

LOL Rhonda! You crack me up! I'm picturing you all suited up in gear peeking out from behind some kinda brick wall just waiting for those evil darts to start flying!!! You are entitled to your opinion, silly girl! Anyone immature enough to send 'hate mail' to anyone on here should rethink their tactics for wanting to be heard.

I sorta doubt ppl would want the joining restriction of how long someone has been posting to be a rule but you never know. (Probably really would make for stronger teams, that's for sure.) :::thinking I'm glad I've been here a while just in case they do choose that rule:::

It'll be interesting to see what all the new rules will be tho, right? Just like on the real Biggest Loser, each new season brings new rules, new challenges, new awards, etc. It's fun!!

OOOOhhh now there's an idea!! I agree with that one for sure. Try to sign everyone up b4 New Year's. Bet that would really help. If people show up after New Year's and like what we are doing and stay on the site for a while then they could sign up for the next challenge. If they leave, well then they wouldn't be signing up for the next one, would they?? Hmmmm....

Oh, and thanks Hun e b, that was sweet. Glad u like the posts. Spending time chatting back and forth with you all is some of the only adult conversation I get these days!! Gotta keep it interesting!

X-actly!! Plus, really, how else are we going to start on Jan. 1 without getting everything lined up early? Heck, make it Dec. 10, fine with me. Keep the ball rolling and not let us get too out of the habit with things. I think Chell mentioned the next show premieres on Dec. 31, so this would synch with that timing. I can't remember how Chell made it work last time between people's sign-up weights (when she assigned them) and their starting weights (when the challenge kicks off). There's always some small shifting that goes on that has to be accounted for........not sure if it's a big issue or what her solution was to that.
