I run on the treadmill for now. Looking forward to warmer weather so that I can run outside. Supposed to be in the 60s for Sunday's race although they're calling for thunderstorms.

Running at 4.7 mph is great. I run intervals of 4.5 mph/5.0 mph (alternating every minute.) I started at 4.2/4.7 intervals and worked my way up. It's a slow process, but doable.

Default Water

I am tired of water. I am so sick and tired of drinking water. I drink an occasional glass of iced tea but mostly it is water.

That is my frustration today.

I feel waterlogged!

I so want a root beer, luckily they make a diet root beer. That may be my cheat.

I haven't cheated once since I started on Feb. 25th.

well somehow I have had the gumption to stick to induction, still no weight loss tho I have ketones every evening. I am starting to lose my appetite a bit, so maybe that will help, though I haven't been over eating. Making sure I have lots of water etc. Will keep trucking through for a bit longer, but am getting a bit frustrated none the less.

That sounds really frustrating fatmad!

chaneen - as far as the diet rootbeer goes, it's not a cheat in the version of the book I have. It is okay for induction, as long as it uses zero calorie sweeteners.

kamikazecat - How are you enjoying the diet? I am only a week in, and am liking it pretty well.

Default A spin on cheeseburger pie...

Hi all,
I made this yesterday and it is pretty tasty. (Good thing, too, because it is going to last me all week!)

Thought I'd share...

Wild Mushroom and Sausage Pie

1 lb ground pork sausage (breakfast sausage or sage sausage)
1 lb ground turkey

Saute together; when nearly cooked, add 2 cups of sliced wild mushrooms (any kind) and cook together until mushrooms are soft.

Drain if needed and press into bottom of 13x9 baking dish.

Beat 8 eggs (I used 6 whole eggs and 4 egg whites) together with ½ cup sour cream. Pour over the meat mixture.

Top with 3 ounces grated sharp cheddar cheese.

Add plenty of black pepper. Because of the sausage, no salt is needed.

Bake at 375 until the top is golden brown.

Cut into squares (I cut into 10 squares; 8 or 12 would work too).

Mondays, most people hate Mondays but I like them because I get back on track every week. Weekends kinda kill me. I don't cheat on weekends nor do I go off the plan, but I get thrown off. I never get in the water I need and I'm always eating at weird times.

At least during the week I keep a schedule, it is just so hard to do on the weekends.

Hope everyone is doing well. I've not been on plan at all, but keep reading and have my book to read more into as well. I love to see the successes and will get with it someday soon. I'm maintaining and for now, that's ok. I just can't seem to stick to anything and I always have an excuse, but by reading here I at least stay kinda close..

Talking 1/3 of the way there

Good morning all,

As of this morning, I am 40 pounds down since 1/3/11. If I can do 40, than I can do the next 40. After that, I'll do the remaining 40. For the first time in forever, my goal weight actually seems within reach.

Have a great day, all.

That is a great way to think about it dini! I never really thought about it--If I did the first 70 I can do the next 70! Then the last 11. I still have a lot to go!

T and T, I've experienced a significant reduction in appetite as well. I started Atkins about 6 weeks ago, and have to actually remind myself to eat...even if it just a little snack. You also don't tend to eat as much as you did before, so keeping your calories down to a reasonable level won't be such a challenge. Good luck with your efforts!

Hi! I just started Induction on Monday, and I'm finally getting into the swing of things. Yesterday I felt so awful...my whole body ached, even my ears were sore! But I made it through and I feel fine today. I'm trying really hard not to weigh until the end of the induction period, but I don't know if I'll make it. I plan to start exercising next week, to give myself time to adapt to the change in diet.

Hi everyone, I'm new here. Mind if I join your thread?

Getting MARRIED next weekend <3! Will be honeymooning in Vegas for the week after. Just started low-carbing again because of my PCOS and wanting to shed the extra weight. I usually have stomach issues so I can't eat that much anyway most times, so I'm hoping low-carbing is my solution since calories don't seem to be a problem.
