Pizza toppings!! Omnomnom If you want real pizza you can make a cauliflower crust- I am sure there are other options in the link Jersey provided, but honestly, I just like the toppings anyways so its no big deal to toss the crust out when we order pizza.

From everything I have read- yes it is "strict" BUT its like gourmet strict. You are exchanging eating tacos to being able to have steak with mushrooms cooked in butter, or salmon with cream cheese.
I am just on like day 1 of atkins and havent read the whole book yet but the idea is to put your body into the fat burning mode instead of glucose mode (ie controlled carb diet) and once you are in this mode your cravings deminish, as does your appetites, but you are still eating rich, yummy foods that keep your body fueled and your weight loss going as you learn your carb level tolerance, and what foods trigger binges/cravings

I highly recommend reading the book completely before trying Atkins. It really explains how things work and why you eat the way you do and also how to climb the carb ladder. You don't stay on 20 carbs per day or less forever...and you do add higher carb veggies as well as fruits and berries as you hit the higher rungs.

I don't see it as what I *can't* eat, but rather what I *can* eat, which are wonderful whole foods with good fats which keep me really satisfied and I am not hungry between meals. Focusing on what I can have is so much easier!

Also, I have found that when I am in a period of no weight loss, that my body shrinks inch wise, so I highly recommend tracking your inches lost as well. The scale does not tell the whole story!
