  • I am finally done with chicken wings... it only took about a month...lol sheesh!

Well it has been a really busy week for me. I worked out with a new trainer and also with my old trainer.... and they both kicked my bottom!

I got a day off from work on Thursday and was really surprised that I didn't go anywhere at all.

I kept on plan all week and even today(Saturday). I got someone to cover both my shifts so that I could go to my hubby's ball game. We went out to a restaurant in Lacey called Hawks Prairie... and was able to eat on plan... they have a mexican breakfast plate that I had with cheese on top and tortillas on the side. I had one of their regular tortillas instead of the LC that I usually have. It was ok. I like just plain fried eggs with sausage but the people I was with was already making me feel self conscious. Not that it was that bothersome I just found the best way possible to go with the flow and still be on plan.

I am down one more pound this week. I know it's not much but at least it's going down.

Tomorrow morning is another workday (Sunday). I plan on having steak and eggs with broccoli again...it has become a Sunday morning ritual. I have 2 eggs, half a steak and broccoli. The other half of my steak goes to my coworker.... I never really comment on how people eat but I have to say that she could put a grown man to shame.... and she is small.... and young... she sits down to eat each time she is done working for the night... which really is nothing however, she eats an appetizer, an entree, and a triple chocolate meltdown all by herself. She always offers people part of her meal but usually we all just eat our own.

AMAZING! I am amazed... it just blows my mind. I mean I know her body type ... hers is like mine used to be... and she has not one care in the world where her body is concerned. She is INVINCIBLE, she is young, and she doesn't know. Sometimes in life you can't be other peoples' reasonable selves... it's the, they will have to learn the hard way, aspect that is the hardest for people to deal with.... I hate that. I am addicted to our bone in wings... so I am not really one to talk...

My name is Raquel, and I am addicted to wings...lol.
  • Yay, this morning I hit the 20 pound mark and am on to maintain for a month or two or three... I usually still eat the same I just add ALOT more veggies and I add back either a piece of fruit or a glass of juice. This keeps me on track. Sometimes I lose during these times but it's not my goal to. My goal is to make sure I am keeping myself healthy.

My sisters are telling me that I should just keep losing since we are going on vaca in 2 months the theory they are telling me is that if I maintain now I will be losing during vaca. They think I should lose now and maintain during vaca.

Not sure what kind of willpower I would have for that. Oh well, we'll see.

Today I am still going to have my same breakfast... I eat it most days.

3 fried eggs and 2 jalapeno sausages hot dogs whatever you want to call them.

    Lunch
Not sure where I'll be. If at home maybe a roast beef sandwich. If at work I will have a Santa Fe Salad.

    Dinner
at work .... Garlic Herb Salmon...yum
  • Well I ended up eating my regular breakfast but added 2 slices of Low Carb Bread.

Lunch I ended up skipping since I really needed a nap...lol... horrible huh?

Before work I had Planters Buffalo wing flavored peanuts ... talk about YUMMY!

So that started me off again on another wing kick. I ordered wings for my dinner....lol... I don't think it will ever end. Oh well.

For some odd reason I have the next 3 days off.... that is really unusual. I have worked every Tuesday morning for the last almost 4 years. So to have the next 3 days off is hopefully pretty cool. One thing about being a server is that if I need or want to pick up a shift I can do so alot easier than most other jobs.

Tomorrow morning I want to try and make something different for breakfast. I saw a recipe for mock french toast. It contained some crushed pork rinds... we'll see how it turns out. I think for lunch will have to be that roast beef. And for dinner maybe some tacos or chicken tortilla soup. I am just not prepared for tomorrow's meals. Maybe I'll just have a go with the flow day.

I am still considering losing a few more pounds and hit another 20 but just don't want to tempt fate. Maybe I'll just continue what I am doing and just opt for 1 pound a week. I am just not really sure.

I will just go with the flow and let things just happen.

  • Congrats on another 20lbs! We should start a support group - I too am a wing addict!! haha
  • I think I lasted, what, two days without wings... man, I am telling you wings can be dangerous...lol ... I can eat me some wings...roflmao.

My son's old little league coach would come into the restaurant at least 3 times a week.... I never asked how much she weighed but it was more than 300 pounds but she also stands about 6 feet tall.... All she would order would be 20 hot wings and a side salad. She did that for about 2 years and right now she's smokin' hot....way to go atkins. She probably weighs about 170 now.

Thank you... I am still considering owl instead of maintenance... but I'll go with the flow until I decide... hopefully my body will decide for me.

Yesterday I had my regular breakfast.... it was quick and easy...

Lunch I ended up cleaning house all day and forgot all about lunch... so I just snacked on some roast beef throughout the day.

For dinner hubby and I went to wallyworld and picked up some staples... I passed the rice aisle and decided to try some brown rice. Heard many good things about it but never really tried it...so last night I made a rather large portion of pork fried brown rice. I cheated and used brown minute rice... never used minute rice before so thought it would be easy... and it was... I didn't compare nutritional value however to the other brown rice boxes there. But I did compare it to white rice and it is better.

So with brown rice (2 servings), 2 green onions, 4 ounces pork, and 2 eggs scrambled...... 1T black pepper and 2T Soy Sauce.

That was my dinner of course all my carbs came from the rice.... it was soooo yummy I ate the WHOLE thing. Carb Count on the rice was almost 100 carbs...lol... talk about carb overload. I will finish the box but not as fried rice... this is definitely alright to use as a side however not as the main part of any meal....lol. I didn't have a gain though so my body can definitely handle it... my ccll used to be around 150 when I was at 204 I am sure it's not that high anymore... time to do some experimenting. I liked the flavor of the brown rice and will keep it in my woe.

The Brown rice I used contained 32 Net carbs per 1/2 cup raw (2/3 Cup cooked). Not a low carb item but if you are in owl or main. then it can be doable if you have enough room and is not a trigger. I would consider this for a planned carb meal. There are many things that are better to eat for low carb. I am just saying that this can be an option. I have not tried cauliflower "rice" but I plan to try that too...lol... I am a rice lover.

Today I plan on having something different for breakfast.... really....lol... I will still have eggs but would like to try some french toast or one of the muffin recipes in the LC threads.

Lunch will be tilapia and broccoli maybe a small portion of that rice.

Dinner is TACOS...lol... my hubby can eat mexican food 7 nights a week.... He married an islander but he should have married a spanish girl...lol. I think I will make it interesting and have him ask for tacos in spanish before I make it..lol.

Well that will be my day.

  • Today ended up being a lazy day for me... it's not often I get to indulge my lazy bone.

Breakfast didn't turn out as good as I hoped it would. I made the cheesecake pancakes from here and I just didn't care for them. I ended up using them for something else. I lined a muffin tin with ham slices and filled them with the "pancake" mix and tossed them in the oven.

I ended up eating them for lunch.

Dinner was tacos... no spanish lesson involved.

I was a bit excited today, though. My personal fitness training book arrived today. I plan on taking my personal trainer certification test in September. I got it early so that I can hopefully be a bit ahead... the class is 3 days long and $500... so I definitely want to make sure I pass. I am taking it because not only am I and have been extremely interested but, my hubby keeps telling me about his friends and their workout/diet regimen and I can't get him to understand that they are wrong. So not only will I become a more informed healthier person. I will also be certified as a more informed healthier person. One thing I have to get around though is that the first chapter is on diseases... and the number one on the list heart disease... and you all know what they say to cut out of our diet to prevent clogged arteries... yeah this will def. be a challenge... I will have to suck it up and answer the test per "popular" media instead of what I truly believe.

Oh well, it will get me to my goal. "Whatever it takes" isn't that most peoples mantra. I do hate going against my beliefs but it will get me my certification.

  • Today was a strange day.... I didn't do much of anything and yet I feel like I did everything.

I had to work this evening. I started at 5:30pm and didn't get done working until 12:15am. It ended up being pretty steady all night. I didn't think it would end... and of course it didn't lol... oh well.

This morning I had 3 eggs and 2 sausages... unusual about my breakfast... I got full after 1 sausage... I ate it anyway.... only because I didn't want to waste it and left over sausages are not that tasty.

For Lunch I had some hard boiled eggs and some celery and laughing cow cheese.

Dinner I had another hard boiled egg and maybe if I am still hungry I'll make more.....

I know my menu seems like I am still on induction ... I really am not... This is just what I felt like eating today... Also what I had available... I was at a restaurant all night long and had barely enough time to eat half of one hard boiled egg... that is why I am sitting here trying to decide on dinner.

Atkins is the best diet for me... no matter what I eat I am always eating something that is Atkins friendly... without even meaning to... so I guess that is a good thing.

This is the start of my work week... I picked up the shift tonight and worked almost 7 hours. I work again tomorrow night, more than likely another 7 hours. Saturday I'm pulling an on call double... if no one calls out Saturday night maybe I'll get a chance to enjoy the rest of the day. Sunday is another 7 hour shift and so is Monday. So, this is the hard part... such a huge contrasting schedule it gets really hard for me to figure out what time is breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Oh well, I will at least try to eat when I am hungry.

OH, I always forget to write down what I drink... I drink 4 cups of coffee in the morning... I flavor it with DaVinci SF Syrup and heavy cream. Sometimes I drink Decaf and sometimes I drink Regular. I am not picky and my body has never stalled drinking it, at least I don't think it has... I guess my body isn't picky either...lol. I also drink water constantly throughout the day. I have never really measured how much water I drink. When I had my son, my hubby would place a gallon of water next to me before he left for work. (Cesarean had me laid up for about 3 weeks) By the time he came home I would have it finished and be drinking iced water.... so I can down at least 128 ounces in a 10 hour day. I think I am still hitting that mark. I drink at least 3 20 ounce glasses while I'm working.

Not sure why I am writing all this, It's late. My mind is mush. I better go to bed.

  • So today ended pretty early for me as far as Applebee's goes. I didn't get called in to work the evening shift. YAY ME!

I walked my usual 3 miles to work and got there in the middle of a private party. Saturday morning pancake breakfast fundraiser. I totally forgot I was going to donate $10 to that. Well Wendy was there and I gave her the money. The fundraiser was for her dad and his medical bills. She raised over $700. It went from 8am-10am.... the restaurant opens at 10 to the public. But for $10 you get scrambled eggs, pancakes, 2 slices bacon, 2 sausage links and a beverage of your choice.... in return $5 is donated to the charity and $5 goes to Applebee's. Not too bad.

I had about 5 tables total for my morning shift. Whoever said servers make alot of money don't see days like these. I'll admit to earning a decent wage, however, we do have to deal with quite a bit. I am not talking about the customers... I am talking about scheduling in general. An average regular server only works around 20 hours a week. It's not about how many hours it's about the quality of the hours... prime nights Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. So if your hours fall on any other day your income is almost non-existant. I like Saturdays off.... heck I would love all of my nights off.. but so would the rest of the world that hold jobs like mine... oh well, I can deal with it. ::::POWERBALL:::: ::::POWERBALL:::: ::::POWERBALL::::

    LOL

This morning I had 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon.

Snack I had half an 8" regular tortilla filled with pineapple, jalapenos, and chicken... actually I only ate a 1/4th of it because it was soooo spicy.

I have made my decision.... I will continue with another 20 pound loss... ONLY because a coworker just confided in me that she would like to do atkins but only if I would help her. She just needs some guidance and she knows I don't do sugar... she doesn't do sugar now either...lol.

    Well wish us luck!

Dinner might be out tonight since I am home and hubby is home...lol... not sure how that works out.... I just got done serving all day and the last thing I want to do is serve hubby and son... lol.... at least they are not that big a fan of ranch.... now ketchup on the other hand....lol.

Hope everyone's day looks as beautiful as ours is.

  • Hey sail - I know what you mean. My daughter has always worked in the restaurnant business and some nights made a total of $20. I too have a friend who is interested in Atkins. It is always nice to share with someone you spend a lot of time with. Often times you hear people who talk about being on Atkinds years ago. I don't think they realize how many foods are now "low carb" and how many recipes are now available.
  • Yes, I was really surprised when my coworker was interested in atkins. The girls always defend the WW way of eating and yet they are always starving. Me, I had half a grilled breast for my snack and was content for a few hours. And it was properly portioned like WW. Yet all their 1pt snack food leaves them wanting more or something heavier.

She started out the year eating WW at work and bringing a low fat/low cal snack for later and she didn't lose much weight. I showed her low carb living and has lost what she lost on WW and 2 pounds just this last week. YAY her!

She is so excited... and she did it eating salad and veggies and protein.

Why do people think we only eat fat and meat when they hear us say the word atkins? I just don't understand it.... when people hear that word it's like their brain shuts down. No matter if you say you only eat veggies and meat they still only hear FAT CHOLESTEROL HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. I just don't get it.

Oh well last night we did end up going out to eat. We went to Red Robin. I ended up eating a cobb salad without dressing, tomatoes, or olives. For my drink I did end up ordering a nuclear tea... no sweet and sour mix no cola sub diet cola and 3 lime wedges... yum.

This morning I woke up another pound down... yay yippee.

This mornings breakfast was at work and ended up being 2 eggs, 2 slices bacon, and 2 small sausage links and a side of broccoli.

Snack was Celery sticks and a 5 ounce chicken breast sliced up with a bit of dressing to dip it in.

Lunch was Chicken wings and celery sticks at mazatlan... not as good as applebee's and they definitely weren't on a happy hour menu... oh well they were good.

Dinner will be something ....lol... not sure yet. I am thinking of having tilapia and cauliflower/broccoli mix and maybe some of that brown rice... that sounds pretty good.

  • Oh man, what a day! I have been go go go... I started out by cleaning this morning and that was at 830 I didn't finish cleaning until 3pm. At that point I had to shower and change for work.

I ended up walking to work at 330 and ordered my first meal of the day. I couldn't believe I went all morning and forgot to eat. Gotta love Atkins. Well I get my food .... grilled chicken breast and 2 sides of broccoli... I take 2 bites and I am done... couldn't eat a bite after that... I think I might be coming down with something.

Now I am sitting here and still can't think to put anything in my tummy.... it's still feeling icky. I did drink about 200 gallons of water...lol. All that water and my lips are still dry and my body still feels dehydrated.

I promise to treat my body better tomorrow.

I work at 11:45 tomorrow. So breakfast will be at home and lunch may be at applebee's .... I am thinking eggs for breakfast and for lunch maybe those all you can eat ribs without bbq sauce. ...lol... not really sure ... I like the santa fe salad but, I am not wanting chicken at the moment. Just doesn't sound that great.

Dinner Sunday night ended up being Mazatlan Mexican Restaurant... I had water and chicken wings.... with a bit of ranch... Seriously the only dressing I ever find at mexican restaurants is Ranch and Thousand Island. I wish they would get Bleu Cheese... yum!

OK tomorrow is a new day.

  • Well yesterday work was pretty slow... I woke up at 1000am and went for my walk to work at 1030..... I ended up having a chicken breast for lunch since my tummy was still hurting.... hubby ended up staying home sick from work... his other job is driving truck. So I am thinking that we might have caught a flu bug.

After I got done with my shift (130pm) I called hubby and he was in the middle of going for a walk. He even had enough energy for us to catch a movie. Although when we got home from the movies he planted his bottom on the couch.... and then again went on a walk later in the evening. While he was walking outside.... I hopped on my treadmill and walked for an hour.

So we both got some miles in... lol.. I got at least 10 miles in. Hubby not so sure. It is one mile around lake bonney.

I made ham and cheese omelets for dinner... honestly I don't eat this little... I just can't keep much more down.

Of course, today is a different day.

This morning I will do much better ... I am thinking a quiche ... I have some leftover ham, bacon, broccoli, and green onions.

Lunch chicken wings sound really good. yeah I know I'm addicted.

Dinner... not sure... I think a naked taco salad sounds yummy.

Snacks I will have some hard boiled eggs or a jalapeno sausage.

I am down another 2 pounds this morning. I was down one yesterday and one today....so 2 total... I just wasn't up to posting it yesterday. Crazy huh? A person not wanting to post any kind of loss seems crazy....lol... but I was just not up to it.

ok now thinking about it wings are sounding delish... I will have that for breakfast...

    AppleBuddy
  • Ok.... so this morning was spent working on our embroidery business... was trying to set up accounts with three different companies this morning and it literally took up all of my morning. I ended up having wings for my breakfast/lunch.

For dinner I am going to make a huge cobb salad.... bacon lettuce chicken eggs bleu cheese and avocado.... yum. I may even put a bit of dressing on it....or not...lol.

Since I had today off I ended up walking on my treadmill. I did 3 miles. After that I dusted off my old copy of the firm that I saw sitting in the corner.... I am talking about the workout dvds. I don't have a dvd player.... however, I took it upstairs and put it on my laptop. I actually made it through 7 of the 11 segments before I was feeling the need to throw my dumbells at it.

If you haven't done it or are planning on doing it prepare for a lot of lunges. I don't have the workout calender anymore so I will have to look it up online.... I do have the mealplan, of course, I prefer atkins.... so basically only the videos are useful to me.

It says it will change my body in six weeks.... well I have had the videos for over a year now. I suppose it's finally time to start the six weeks.

    AppleBuddy
  • Ok so dinner ended up being a quiche with bacon, broccoli, ham, and green onions.... it was delish.... I had a huge serving..

Breakfast this morning never happened... was not only full still, but, my tummy was still having problems.

Lunch I had a small salad with chicken bacon and eggs.

Dinner ended up being Tacos al Carbon from Los Palomas. Made with steak they really filled me up. I had two of them and they were stuffed with lots of steak. I gave the 3rd one to hubby and he mixed the steak up in his rice. I don't understand how restaurants can serve so much food. I know we all want the most for our money, but really, it was enough for 2 meals... three if I would have ate the beans and rice.

    Oh well.

I woke up this morning and hit the treadmill for an hour and then took a break for about an hour... after that I did day 2 of "The Firm" it kicked my butt. No more frickin lunges...lol. I went online when it was done to find out about the jillian michaels video "30 Day Shred" I never really thought I would like videos but I found I absolutely LOVE these DVDs. I remember when I was 18 and didn't need them my friend had bought a VHS of Richard Simmons "Sweatin' to the Oldies" and I remembered how much fun we had doing that....of course we both smoked at the time, and even though I was maybe a hundred pounds I still couldn't keep up with the people on the video that were 3 times my size.

My MIL bought me a Billy Blanks Tae Bo DVD for Christmas one year and I never played it. It's still sitting with all my other DVDs. Not sure why I didn't use it. My Hubby bought P90X and he absofrickinlovedit. He now has loaned it out to one of his buddies. And it is now sitting on his shelf... Actually his friend is in the middle of a move so it's understandable that it's not being used yet.

So I couldn't wait... even though I have "The Firm" I really wanted to pick up that Jillian Michaels DVD... Hubby and I went to the mall for a frustration walk...lol.. unrelated to any type of fitness regimen.... more for settling his mind... well anyhoo.... Sports Authority had it for $14 BUT Walmart has it for $9. Thank You to whomever it was that posted that it was sold at walmart... because I would have definitely spent the money for it at the mall.

So tomorrow I am going to do "The Firm" and also "30 Day Shred" I will only do a light workout for the shred though, just to get an idea of what I will be dealing with when I am ready for it.

Guess what? I still have my copy of Richard Simmons...roflmao... and I probably still can't keep up.

Today of course was Tax Day. The only thing I procrastinate with is the taxes....Really, it only takes me half an hour to do, but I just hate taking the time out to do them. This afternoon it took me 20 minutes.... Crazy! Not sure why I do it this way but at least it gets done.

    That was my crazy day.

  • I didn't post yesterday because of having to work. When I got home from work at around 11:30pm I was absolutely exhausted. I fell asleep around 3 this morning and was in and out of sleep until 800am until I had to hop in the shower for work. I ended up working from 930 until 300. Pretty Long day.

Breakfast yesterday I had my usual... only because I love it...
3 Eggs and 2 Jalapeno Sausages.

Lunch... I snacked on a couple of hard boiled eggs.... ran out of veggies and salad mix.

Dinner was a grilled chicken breast on the run between tables.... So it was an all protein day. That doesn't happen too often, however, it does happen.

I wanted to wake up early this morning and get a couple of workouts in, but, I couldn't wake up... and was so sleepy at work today. Not really sure what I would have done if one more person had called in sick.

This morning my boss bought me breakfast. I had Scrambled eggs with salsa, 2 sausage links, and 2 slices bacon.... it took me an hour to eat it since I had to eat it in between serving tables. It was really nice of him to do that.

I really wanted to get some sort of workout in. I will have to have a rest day. Today might as well be that day.

Lunch was a big ole fatty Cobb Salad. YUM!!! No dressing.

Dinner is who knows. It's still too early for me to be thinking about food.

I was down another 2 pounds this morning. I was pretty excited. I haven't seen the 170's since 2003. So, this is pretty cool. 26 pounds down since January 1st. And I'll keep on keepin' on.

I suppose I should eventually set myself some sort of mini goal for along the way, but, I usually have a hard time when I don't meet them. This WOE is a constant battle... some days even some meals are easier than others. Maybe I'll save my goals for my last 5 pounds...lol. Never been too good with goals.
