Well I had an OK weigh-in! I lost 2 lbs this week, my sister-in-law who I am going with, and I , both have one more lb to lose to get to our 10! yay It was cute at the meeting... our lady passed out these little straws, and we all had to say what was our "last straw" to join, it got me motivated again. I taped the straw to my fridge
b: malt o meal & banana

d: mixed beans and turkey ham
s: fruit of some kind
Angela, I love malt o meal -- but is it okay with Splenda? I should get some and start eating it for breakfast. Talk about sticking with you til lunch! That'll do it!
Yep. Almost every morning I cook up a bowl of Malt o Meal (which is like farina with a little malted barley). I add a splash of skim milk to the cooked cereal (I like it sloppy), around 1 1/2 tsp. Splenda, and half a cut up banana. Yum!
Of course I've never seen or heard of this stuff - malted milk cereal yum yum - only kidding!
Hey Frannie - seen any of these stuff round your neck of the woods? I have seen red river cereal? (anyone tried that?) and of course oatmeal and cream of wheat!
Will take a closer look next time - just in case! - wouldn't want to be missing out on something really yummy?
I was raised on Malt o Meal and when my sister moved to North Carolina from Texas, she couldn't find any so I would send her boxes and boxes of it. In fact, I think I'll stop at the store on the way home from work!!
I just got some of that Red River cereal, and it's nothing like Malt o Meal. It's OK, but I don't think I cooked it long enough. Malt o Meal is very similar to Cream of Wheat (which is farina). I just ran out of my box of Malt o Meal though, so it's on to the plain farina box. I guess I'll survive!
Okay - I like cream of wheat - did not know that was the same as farina - altho the malt-o-meal with the barley sounds pretty yummy! Might try the red river one day when I'm feeling adventurous...is it Core?
I don't know about the Red River cereal for sure, but the only ingredients are cracked wheat, cracked rye and whole flax. Sounds pretty CORE-like to me!
