Default Krusteaz CarbSimple

Have you all seen these products? Generally, I've always like their foods (used to make the Krusteaz waffles, pre-SBD) and so when I saw the CarbSimple line I bought the chocolaty muffin mix and made them this weekend when the in-laws were visiting. They were DELICIOUS!!! They were SO GOOOOOOD! There are no sugars in them, and they are 160 calories, but they are not whole wheat. Now, I know they are not probably the PERFECT food, but will the occasional treat keep me from losing?

Depending on what is in them, they could keep you from losing. Take a look at my muffin recipe in the Breakfast - Phase 2 section (or maybe dessert or snack). You can add dark chocolate or semisweet chocolate chips and make them and they will be OP. They do have about 150 calories depending on what you add to them but at least all the ingredients are allowed.

Thanks Barb!! I wanna be perfect, but sometimes a girl has got to have small indulgences. Ya know?

When I am dreaming of dinner before I even leave the office I know I am not eating enough or starting to obsess - I don't want to get that way! I think I might have to treat myself to a glas of wine tonight.

Lauren, I tried looking up the ingredients but it looks like they don't post them on their website. A safe recommendation would be to stay away from "low carb" processed foods.

I've kind of given up and may just refrain from comment! (Didja notice the blood from my tongue running out of my clenched mouth?) ROFLOLPIMP!

We did notice a slight slur Ruth perhaps from all the blood loss to the tongue.

I do have to say though your FRANKENFOODS has not gone unnoticed by all. I am not even checking those products out because you are right about that.

By the way, the muffins sound good but for me the temptation to continue eating "not so good for me foods" would be too much. Glad you enjoyed them though.

Ruth, your FRANKENFOODS has reminded me that if I can't pronouce the ingredient perhaps it's not best for my body. So even if you don't say it out loud, we still think about it.

Yeah, Ruth. I think of you every time I open a box of Betty Crocker instant mashed potatoes.

You ladies are killing me! Don't bait Dogless in Delta too much...her knee is better and she just might come after you and force feed you a zucchini!

Yeah, Lauren, you are best to stay away from mixes. If you subscribe to the tenets of SBD, then you believe that the white flours really hurt your health. And stuff made with WW flour can taste really, really good! I can't wait to try Barb's recipe!

For treats, see what you can make within the foods to enjoy and foods to avoid list. And don't forget about the chocolate! You can have it once a week, I believe...dark or semi sweet chocolate, about 1 oz. You can melt chocolate in a little custard dish, then spoon it over fresh, cleaned strawberries, then put them on wax paper in the fridge for a totally decadent desert! Or toss some semi sweet chocolate in your PB cup? There are some great recipe books on ebay that have good SBD foods...try PMing AdiaFaith for the info. I ordered them and made "Sarah's Chippy Cookies"...they were very good.

Whaddaya mean "force feed" a zucchini! I'm more creative than that. Remember the lentil soup enema?

Ouch! That sounds painful. Who was the cyber receipient of that? Or was it just a threat? Not that it isn't a very good threat.
