Of my weight loss journey. I wish i could just be under a personal trainer's rule for 6 months and put it all out of my hands. But no dice. (or money for a trainer).
I've lost weight before on my own, but after my wonderful wedding, i've gained half of it back. (20 out of 40 lb loss.)
I have no excuses anymore. I really don't. I'm (unfortunatley) unemployed (again), so i have all the time in the world. (for now). My sister's wedding is coming up in august, so i have a goal i'd like to achieve. Also for my first halloween married, i'd like to actually surprise my new husband with those skanky outfits other girls wear, and i always walk away from.
I feel just lazy. If i did get skinny somehow, if i woke up and was skinny, i would not have felt like i earned it.
I just like junk food waaayyyyy too much.
My clothes are really too tight. But i just dont care enough?
I don't want to let myself go anymore than i have.
I wish on a shooting star, for a text/email buddy, someone who has the time to have a modern-day pen pal. A little angel on my shoulder. Or maybe a little Jillian Michaels on my shoulder to kick my *** into gear. O.x
Well I'm nowhere near Tennessee, but I can be a text/email/whatever buddy! Probably more "angel on shoulder" than Jillian Michaels, though. Feel free to PM me
Diet plans often cover what to eat and what not to eat, and what exercise to do. But very seldom do they cover the mental aspects of dieting: how to plan for food outside of regular meals, how to deal with temptations from trigger foods, how to keep going when you don't feel like it, and ultimately how to maintain without regaining.
You might want to look at a book or two that deal with behavior change, to add to your toolbox for weight loss. The three that are my go-to books are: Four Day Win, The Thin Commandments, and Beck Diet Solution. They really help me deal with issues like responsibility, and temptation, and structuring the day. Check out your library!
Meanwhile, know that you CAN do this. It is hard. But so is being overweight. So is maintaining a loss. Pick your hard.
You'll have a lot of encouragement and support here. Just take it a day (or an hour!) at a time, and before you know it you'll be down where you want to be.
I think it would be wonderful to have a personal trainer, and as @Rana mentioned above, a chef as well. I'd be in heaven! It'd be great having someone to tell you exactly what exercise to do, and if you're doing it right or doing it wrong.
I would also love an exercise buddy/workout buddy.. through text/email buddy, to make sure to keep eachother going. The biggest thing for me is.. If I tell myself to wake up early every morning to get on my treadmill or walk my dogs, I need to actually DO it.. would be nice to have someone that'll make me be accountable for it, you know?
If you're interested, I'd love to be your buddy. [: PM me.
Me? I want to be on Dr. Phil --- have him get me a life coach, a personal trainer, a nutritionalist and a chef - and a one year supply of food!!
But for real, I really do wish I could have a nutritionist/chef come to my house, and get me "set-up". I mean we all know a lot about different diets and foods...what's healthy, etc. -- but sometimes it seems overwhelming!
But guess I'll just keep plugging away - I'm doing ok - but want to "shake things up" a bit.
I am on a medically supervised diet so technically someone else is in charge of telling me what to eat and that I have to exercise so much per day to get my requirements in.
What I would like much better.......put me to sleep until I get to my goal weight and then wake me up from my hibernation. Of course, I would like some physical therapy in my coma-state so I don't wake up too much more flabby.
I agree with you Rooka. I'm the type of person that needs to be told what to do..and I'll do it. I wish I had someone to just give me a list of what to eat and what exercises to do each day. I'm sticking to the one I made myself but ehh..it just doesn't seem to work. And we have the same end goal which is August..
So I wouldn't mind chatting with you to help us both keep going. :'D
I'm cool with working out. I love my gym's classes and I go very regularly. However, I never feel like cooking...OK, rarely do I feel like cooking. I'd love to have a chef come to my home and make all of my healthy and filling meals and snacks...for like 3 months. I'd be set!

Me and you should make up a diet and/or exercise routine, realistic for one another, and swap.
I do the plan you made, you do my plan. That'd be interesting. lol
Within reason, of course. I wouldn't make you do a diet that you don't want to.
But that'd be interesting. Having a long-distance penpal/personal trainer.
It would require a little menu making in the beginning for eachother but then after we swap, its easier to switch.lol
We could eat eachother's favorite foods, etc. Like living in someone else's shoes.
I think this whenever I fill my cats' food bowl, how nice it would be to have someone tell me "This is what you'll eat and you don't get anything else. Unless you gain weight, in which case you'll get a lower calorie kibble." Of course, I would also need to be more like the cats in that I don't mind the same kibble day after day, week after week. That need for variety is, unfortunately, my downfall.
I want a personal trainer. Big, tan, and muscular with dark eyes, dark hair, tattoos all over his arms...and a penis the size of a Taco Bell grande burrito.
