Default What can I consume if I'm sick? Help!

So I'm only on day 4 and I think (hope) the major withdrawals are done. I am in the begging of a cold/flu. I have a really sore throat, and no appetite. What can I take to help relieve symptoms without jeopardizing my progress? I also have no appetite and I'm forcing myself to eat. Is it possible to cut back a little?

Thanks.

If you need to take any over-the-counter remedies, go to the pharmacist and ask for the one that are safe for diabetics - those will be sugar free and fine to use.

As far as food, stick to shakes, puddings, soups, and plain broth. steam up a bunch of veggies and puree them, then add to the soup or broth to get your veg in without having to swallow big pieces of anything. Most of all, drink lots of water and hot tea, and REST!!!

The word "candies" should be a dead giveaway that they are a no-go. Most vitamin c tabs have sugar/carbs in them - but if you can find one that is sugar free/no carbs, those would be ok

I had a hard time eating my 8oz protein (didn't feel like cooking or eating) so I substituted with 2 IP packets instead. Use non-restricted like puddings or shakes. I agree with pureeing the veggies like putting spinach into your shake. It makes it easier volume wise and when you have a sore throat.

This may sound silly, but I can have broths? The listing I was provided didn't state that and my coach never mentioned it. I'm guessing low fat, low sodium types.

Absolutely. If you don't have homemade broth, look for ones that have 0 carbs and fat free. Veggie broth is usually pretty safe, and I use a College Inn fat free, low sodium broth that has less than 1 carb per serving

These are great suggestions! I just came down with something (maybe flu, maybe just upper res) and am reading this as I drink my water. I thought of having a second IP soup instead of my daily restricted bar or munchie snack today. Right now I don't feel like eating anything. Was able to eat my chicken breast, though. I don't think it's hitting me as hard as it could, though. Must be all the garlic I eat every day at lunch in my IP soup! Or maybe the "tons" on water I drink every day! While washing away the pounds it must also be washing away the little virus and bacterias!

I made chicken soup.
It took care of a way to eat my veggies AND my protein, plus the broth makes you feel good when you have cold/flu
