Default Blender recommendations?

I'm using an old blender for my drinks and it's on its last legs. Would love to get some recommendations on a good blender (that isn't outrageous in price) that would be able to blend in spinach like some of you add to your drinks.

Can you tell me about your blender?

Thanks!

Hgamroth - what type of Ninja do you have? I've been looking at them but there seem to be some variation in the type - like the smaller 'bullet' style or the bigger more traditional looking blender.

I second the Ninja. I was originally using the Ninja Food Prep and have since upgraded to the Ninja Kitchen System.

The Food Prep is similar to the Magic Bullet, the Kitchen System is similar to the Vitamix (but much cheaper).

Can you mix in spinach in your shake with the Food Prep? I look at the Kitchen System and it seems way over my league! (Scares me!)

Vitamix is like the Cadillac of blenders. If its out if your price range, the Ninja (Nissan) will get you where you need to go just fine.

I also love the Ninja. Just throwing in my 2 cents. I have the Ninja Professional. It came with a full size blender pitcher and also 2 single serving blenders pitchers with to-go lids. They come in very handy!

If you can afford it, the Vitamix. Can be used to make soups, drinks, etc.

Blendtec is it's competitor, on sale at Costco now.

Either way, you can purchase both from Costco. Costco has a great return policy.

If you are only using a blender for just spinach and veggies, then go with an appliance less inexpensive .

Also, if you are on a budget, then the Ninja is the next best for the cost. I have read good reviews about the Ninja, inside and outside of this group.

Costco might have the Ninja as well as the others.

Good luck.

This thread got me thinking... So it turns out Macy's has Ninja blenders 40% off today, plus free shipping if you spend over $100. Seems like the kitchen system for under $140 is a very good deal - their regular price is $229. Think I'll order one for DH to give me for Xmas, along with the Omron scale he's also giving me!
