Default So how did everyone do on Halloween, the candy holiday????

I did great I gotta say

Today when I was leaving the store they had a big basket of free candy! AND I'm talking the good candy like Snickers, Reeces and Tootsie Pops!! I was tempted to take a piece but I didn't & I didn't have one piece at all this whole Halloween weekend and today!

So how did everyone do? What are your holiday strategies not to over indulge & splurge on sweets?

I decided to have one fun size butterfinger bar at work and was fine with that. And even with the candy I was under 1350 calories for the day, so I consider the holiday a success.

I have 3 little boys and they have brought home a ton of temptation! I have stopped myself from having any. I know if I have one, I will have another and another and ... I can't risk it. I'm pretty proud of how well I've behaved myself actually.

There are four kit kats left in a bowl on the table. I am going to give two of them to each of my kids. NONE for me. Period.

Horrible! We've been celebrating Halloween for the past week at work. Over that period I had at least ten laffy taffys, a kit kat bar and a cupcake. :-/

I had six Whoppers malted milk balls = 48 cals. I almost never eat sweets. Now I'm wondering why! Uh oh!

Well we always get maaaaybe 10 trick or treaters at our door so we still have a HUGE bowl of candy left. Im going to grab a snickers and a peanut butter cup and a small glass of milk for my dessert and that will be it. Ill still be under calories for the day so Im happy.

I had too much candy today Luckily I did well over the weekend so I will get back on track tomorrow to minimize the excess calories. We had way to much candy sitting around and I do not have enough will power to not over eat. I hope most of you did better than I!

I had one fun size kit kat and 400 calories worth of good dark chocolate, but I didn't go over my calorie goal for the day (1600), so I'm happy!

I didn't buy any (we went to a party so no trick or treaters to worry about). I had one pack of m&ms from my sons bucket for dessert tonight, planned in my calories. Amazingly we haven't had junk at work other than pumpkin seeds, which I don't really like!

I didn't have any! I'm so proud of myself!

I did have one Godiva truffle though, but my mother and I always go to Godiva to get our free pieces of chocolate and we realized we never went for October!

After I ate that piece of chocolate, I realized all of the halloween candy was never going to taste as good as a piece of Godiva Dark Chocolate Carmel Embrace, so why bother?

I handed out money instead of candy, so I ate no candy this Halloween.

YAY!

BUT THE MONEY THING BACK-FIRED! I gave out the money so the little kids could pool their Halloween money and buy something for themselves or put it into their piggy bank.
Turns out the local school was induced by UNICEF to fleece the kids of their Halloween money. So there goes my Halloween money. Funneled through the hands of babes into the coffers of a huge charity.

I know the economy is bad and charities are hurting, but so are the children in my area. Most of the parents are out of work now. I doubt my little community will ever see any help from UNICEF.

It gripes me that my Halloween treats were absconded by big business with the help of the school board.

Next year I will hand out candy so the disadvantaged children in my area can enjoy all their treats.... and I will just have to call my willpower into play.

Sooo true. I'm not much of a candy person, but I'm like this with ice cream. About once a month I go to an amazing local place for a big cone and it kills my desire for the store bought ice creams I used to eat all the time, which could never measure up.
