Default Milk of Magnesia...

How much is too much? I have the bottle, which says 2 - 4 tbsp / day. Day 1 - ineffective. Day 2 (today) - slightly helpful, but I still need more help. Does anyone know if I can take more than the recommended dose within a 24hour period?

I thought i recall a post about someone taking substantially more to reap the benefits . . .

Sorry, may I ask if you're using these to help clear your system? I ask because I'm finding my BM to be sporadic and if this is helping you then I'd like to try too.

Ummmm, yep. I have had the worst case of slow digestion/constipation this week. Ever. I feel miserable. I look pregnant. It is disgusting. The scale is also up and I am guessing this is a cause. Anyway, MOM was recommended so I tried it before and it worked. This time, not so much or not as well. Today will be my third dose and I am keeping my fingers crossed...

Milk of Mag works best with lots of water. Seriously down 30-50 onces of water with it and trust me things will move. With out the water it is not as effective. This is due to how it works. It basically draws the water out of your body and you excrete it in your bowl.

This is a "negative" about this diet. Shows you how we need our fruits...
Have you tried the Tea with senna, I brew my own, but you can buy one that is labeled "Smooth Move". I personally don't think it is healthy to take so much laxative. I am 53 yrs old and never had to use a laxative. Try the tea and hopefully you will be 'moving' soon.

Hmmm...I am a bit afraid of taking too much right now. I take the psyllium husk with acidopholous regularly. I took a third dose of MOM today and just downed 1.5 liters of water. I have a feeling I might be ok . . . at least for today.

I was just thinking about the fruit thing this morning. Tomorrow will be 6 weeks without a piece of fruit. That just seems wrong. Especially wrong since I am not losing weight :/

*sigh* I miss fruit. When I asked my coach about constipation because I read some information here first before going to see her, she said that if you're drinking enough water, bowels should actually be softer....
I have not been experiencing that at all. Finally today I was able to go but I'm back to feeling bloated for some reason (not even TOM yet!).
Hope it works well for you coliep!
