Default What is the latest you eat?

I think this has a lot to do with the reason I'm not losing my weight even though I'm working my butt off.. I workout 6xs a week.. The latest I may eat dinner may be around 9ish- 10ish.. I know that this is extremely to late to eat and then go to bed.. I'm going redo my time and see if this helps. I will not eat anything heavy after 7- 7:30pm.. Only water and fruit until I get use to not eating that late...

BTW, what is the latest you ladies eat dinner?

I try not to eat anything after 7pm. I used to snack a lot at night, so I have been working on that. It has taken discipline, but I make sure I do not eat anything after 7. To help, I brush my teeth at 7pm. The taste of toothpaste in my mouth immediately takes away my urge to eat.

I don't set a certain time. I just try to eat 2-3 hours before I go to sleep. So if i'm planning on sleeping at 2am.. I'll eat at 11. If i want to go to sleep at 10pm, I'll eat at 7 or 8.

I have never worried about this at all. I have a calorie target for each day and I make sure I stay within that target. I feel that if you make too many rules for yourself, it all will seem too restrictive and something will have to give.

The main reason I don't eat a large meal before going to sleep is because it would make me uncomfortable. However, if I'm hungry right before bed, I'm not above eating a light snack. Last night I was eating an apple on may way to brush my teeth.

Exactly right, your body needs x amount of calories to function period... Personally i fought against eating late and became obese, my body would crave all night long and i would eat after eating, now i just wait till late then eat my meal and hit the sack a couple hours later, lost over 200 pounds eating late so i doubt thats holding anyone back, but we are all different so...

I don't eat after 6pm just about all of the time. I'm in too much danger of binging that late, so I just tend to not eat anything else after dinner.

I don't always follow this rule (I might have a late dinner here and there) but for the most part it's worked for me.

Good for you! Wow!! 200 lbs. That is a major, major achievement!! I lost 100 without worrying about the time of day that I ate. But, as you said, we are all different and that's why it's so important to find out what works for you, through trial and error, and don't worry too much about diet theories (especially those that are trying to sell you something).

The latest I've eaten dinner is 12am, but that usually is at least 2 hours before I go to sleep. I don't like to set time limits on when I eat because that will just make me feel deprived. I give up when I feel deprived. I've been counting calories and just make sure to stay below my upper limit.

I have been making a HUGE effort to eat dinner by or before 7. Some nights, it doesn't happen until 730 or 8. It just depends on what is going on that day/night etc. Like tonight, I didn't eat until 7:30, but started dinner at 4:30, I made lasagna and didn't anticipate it taking so long, or me moving so slow, lol. Other days are just hectic and dinner doesn't happen until 8 but that messes everything up because my child needs to go to bed by 8 or all **** breaks lose, lol. Life is hectic, do what you can but don't fuse over what wasn't done.

Usually I try to eat supper about 3 hours before I go to sleep. Don't want to eat anything too heavy right before bedtime...as someone said I'd be uncomfortable and plus if it has a lot of sodium, I know that in the morning the scales will be up due to water retention. But if I get hungry between supper time and bedtime, I'll eat a light snack.

I set a goal for myself not to eat after 8 but I have not applied any discipline to this so I slip up often!
I don't think eating late is my problem, I think that WHAT I eat late, is my problem! lol

I don't eat dinner before 7:30-8. For me, if I eat a late dinner, I have no desire to snack late at night. Eating dinner at or before 6 and then staying up until 11, of course you will be hungry and then tired so less energy to make yourself a healthy snack.

I just figure that my body doesn't need much energy at night when I'm just going to go to sleep so I tend to get most of my calories in during the day. I usually eat about 200 cals of some kind of protein/veggies between 7:30 and 8 when I get home from the gym and I guess that's my 'dinner'. This is also the only time I consciously avoid straight up carbs. I'm just cooking for me, so I can have a wacky eating schedule and nobody minds .

I try to stop eating 2 hours before bed. I don't think when you eat matters if you stay within a reasonable amount of calories, but eating too much before bed can be uncomfortable and look like a gain if you weigh in the mornings.
