Welcome this this month's making skinny* thread, my name is Trudi and I'll be your hostess this month. If you need anything please press the bell above your heads and I'll be happy do what I can for you, within reason, there won't be any ironing or babysitting, I have to draw the line somewhere.
I will be requiring a start weight, goal weight, a current weight and probably a little help with the arithmetic to determine exactly how much you've lost.
Best of luck to all of you
Trudi
*Someone told me recently that skinny is derived from the Swahili word for 'poor' but it might not be true, he wasn't all that reliable.
I'm so impressed with your weight loss achievement. It's good to see someone do it. I need to lose half my body weight and get easily discouraged at the task ahead of me. Congratulations.
Hi, just starting out. I would like to join this months challenge & set myself a goal to lose 5 pounds this month. My sw is 148 so would like to get down to 143 by the end of the month. Is that all the info I need to give?
I'm excited about the prospect of meeting my challenge this month ( I was so close last month) so I'm going to be extra, extra good and aim for another 8lbs in May.
I have been quite bad for a few days. So I don't know how well I'm going to do with next Wednesday's WI, but I'll go for the same goal as last month, and aim for 4lbs.
SW/CW 177
GW 173
I'm nearing the goal I set myself now, which was BMI 25. However I've realised that since I weigh-in first thing in the morning, it would be a good idea to go for at least a couple of pounds lower than that to allow for fluid gain. I'd like to be able to go back to a Weightwatchers meeting after years away and present my gold card and actually be in gold range again.
My first post! I really have to lose weight for the summer (preferably before the end of July when I'm going on hols).
SW: 160lbs
GW: 147lbs
13lbs is alot to lose in a month but this is all weight I put on since Christmas so hopefully if I work hard I can at least get back to my pre-Christmas weight this month.
Do we update weekly with our current weight or just at the end of the month?
Ok, so my official weigh in day is Tuesday, so I'm reporting here that I've evened out my weight to 184 as of today, so that's a lb down (well, .6 of a lb if truth be told, but I always round up for weigh ins) since the 1st w00!
This is going to be seriously tough. not sure if the weight will come off this month as I've just picked up strength training and have heard it can upset the number on the scale.

Yeah I hear you...that ww meeting would be sweet!
I am very much same as you re the goal...mine was 154, but have changed to 158...BUT that 158 is my max weight for wiggle rom (In my head anyway) i think you need the wiggle room otherwise you will be always trying to lose those last coupl of pounds, and it is mentally very draining.... well done to you!

Thanks. Because my weight chart looks like a stair with lots of bumps along the way, I am expecting to fluctuate a couple of lbs over the course of a month even if I am spot on with my maintenance calories. So having a bit of wiggle space then a hard line I don't want to cross seems like a good plan. It's funny how the last few lbs can seem harder to lose. Hope you get there soon!
