Elimination (with pictures)
Well ... the things you learn while surfing the net!
As a nurse and here at 3FC, I'm surprised how much people don't know about healthy bowel habits.

Funny, because I was sort of wondering about digestive health this morning!

Consider me one who has never used it! I have heard of Bristol-Myers...I have heard of Bristol, VT...I have heard of The Bristol Stomp...but I had never heard of The Bristol Stool Scale before this moment

OMG...that is too funny! I'm in my last year of nursing school and have yet to see this chart. I do believe my classmates would get a kick out of this! I also work at the largest hospital in Lexington and no one has ever mentioned it, thankfully.

i think this chart would really be useful in the U.s. It seems like the word "diarrhea" is often overused for any soft stool.

No, we've never used that! We have 8 or 10 descriptive terms we use but no official chart. We might use it now. The gals at work quite liked it too.

Oh! now I realize that Primm must be in the medical field also. I thought she was commenting on a cultural diff between where she lives and the States
Somewhere, on my road travels, I was at a State rest stop, and in the ladies' rest room there was a large framed picture/shadowbox thing on the wall. It contained dried ( I hope!!) different animal eliminations and labels on who they were from. Like fox, squirrel, relatively small forest folks
no bear samples
but back to the OP, I guess it is valuable to have a standard to compare to!
