Default Starbucks!!!!!

I went to Starbucks for the first time in YEARS yesterday.. honestly I don't think I had a coffee from there in 6 or 7 years. I was waiting for my OB/GYN appt. I ordered a caramel frapucino LIGHT in the smallest size. I was figuring it would be about 400 calories, so I made sure I planned for it the rest of the day. It was SO good.
So, I actually forgot to look it up but put down 400 just to be safe. Well today I finally looked it up and not only is it made with sucralose but it's only 130 calories!
It was a super nice treat for me and I can't believe it was only 130 cals! Of course it came with no whip cream, but that's ok!

Just wanted to share.

Yeah I LOVE starbucks. I use to get all the full fat versions with whipped cream.....mmmmmm....and now I get these. I get one of the skinny versions like hazelnut or caramel or cinnimon. They are sooo yummy and are fat free (made with skim milk) and sugar free. Fat free, sugar free and yummy.

Oh no...I sound like a starbucks commercial

You should try it. The "tall" light caramel cappuccino is 130 and the next size up is still only 160! Tasted amazing to me.

I should start ordering the light drinks! I *love* starbucks but since Ive started losing I have limited myself to plain black coffee, skim milk, and splenda because I was scared of the calories in everything else.
I obviously didnt do my homework and have been missing out!!!! lol

What's the difference between a skinny and a light?

A skinny latte is made with nonfat milk and sugarfree syrup, whereas a regular flavoured latte is made with 2% and regular syrup.

Another really fantastic "skinny" drink is an iced tall sugar free vanilla nonfat caramel macchiato, it's only 140 calories too and it is sooooo good!

I work at Starbucks and although it's a constant temptation to indulge in delicious beverages, I've learned to cut back and order more wisely.

I can not have any of the skinny versions because there is splenda in all of the sugar free syrups they carry (splend is a seizure trigger for me).

However, I love their iced coffee unflavored or with a squirt of regular mocha syrup . I can usually get out of Starbucks under 250 calories even getting the drink I love. However that also means when I go to coffee with the girls I really have to save my calories so I can have something I love and I have to get a tall or short to help with calories. Oh well there are some splurges I just can not give up yet.

I had no idea splenda could be a seizure trigger, that's very interesting! It's always helpful to me to know the reasons why some people can't have other things. For example I never understood why decaf/caf was so important til I found out it could cause people serious issues with heart palpitations or nausea.

Another great trick is to get a drink half sweet with nonfat milk, it cuts the calories by a great deal. Honestly, we put too much syrup in almost everything in anyway, lol.
