Default 100's day at school.....need ideas....

My son's grade one classs is having a one hundreds day party and I'm not quite sure what to pack for him.

So he has to choose one hundred items to put in the class "trail mix". The suggestions the teacher gave were mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, smarties, skittles, M&M's..... I'd like to do a healthy snack that the kids will eat so I'm thinking pretzel sticks?

Also they have to bring a round item because they are celebrating "round day" as well. So teachers suggestions were: slices of pepperoni, timbits (doughnut holes), cookies, ritz crackers...... I thought about cucumber slices but obviously most kids wouldn't choose cucumber over a cookie, so I don't want to buy food and have it thrown away.

Any ideas that would be well received by most 6/7 year olds?

I thought about those but they have to get cut up at 7:30 and then ate at noon. They'll go all brown.

I would slice them with the peel still on and brush the exposed bananas with a little lemon juice. The kids can take the peel off when they eat them.

You could also slice oranges into circles.

how about the regular plain cheerios? they're less healthy than fruit or veggies, but kids like them or at least like them ok and they're round.

kiwi slices, lemon/lime slices, grapes, cherry tomatoes. That's all I can think of.

Whole grain mini-bagels maybe? I like the Cherrios idea from above too.

I did the rainbow goldfish for the trailmix @ my son's school. I like the Cheerio's idea, or even fruit loops

I ended up getting called into work so I left it in my hubby's hands.

For the trailmix he did 100 pretzel sticks. And for the round day he cut oranges into slices. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
