Post Taking a break from exercise

Has anyone taken a break from their original exercise routine and then started again two weeks later, then find themselves in pain?

I am a huge animal lover! I have horses(3), dogs(2), cats, and fish. I lost two horses in four weeks. One who got sick suddenly and one who was old. The one that was hardest on me was my old one. You try to prepare yourself but you still can't.

After losing the first one I tried sticking to my routine. I did okay skipping a day here and there. Instead of working out five days a week I did three. Then when I lost my second one, which I made an appointment and a week later had him put down. I did not exercise at all that week and then for 9 days after. I was having a hard time emotionally and could not find it in me to work out.

So this week I started up again on Monday. Wednesday I had to take off cause I hurt!!!! My endurance is not the same and my muscles are weaker. I made it thru yesterday and today and I am not as sore but still hurt a little yet. I have to say I was surprised at how much I hurt.

The good news is thru all my hard times I maintained my weight. This week I lost 2 pounds! It has been some time since I lost 2 pounds in a week. I hope the trend keeps going. I think my body needed the break even though it was an unwelcomed one.

Anyone else have this happen?

sweetie, i think you and your body were grief stricken and under a lot of stress...it will pass. Just be easy on yourself. Get right back into it slowly.

I am so sorry for the loss of your horses. Hugs.
