Unhappy Slim Jim's are going to be the death of me!!!

I restarted my diet for the about 100th time, and I am about to go freaking crazy. I am addicted to Slim Jim's. Now, I know most of you guys are like "Yuck", but they are so amazing. One day, I bought a container of them, and ate them all in one sitting. Now I have vowed not to touch them again. And they are calling my name. Every time I go to the store, they are at the check out, pleading for me to buy one. And I can't ruin my diet this time! I joined a gym, and I have been walking and eating better. Help me please! What do you do when your cravings are so bad you could murder someone!?!?!?!

HAVE ONE. if you don't have one you're likely to totally overdo it later on. Don't buy a whole container, buy just one and savor it. You have to give in every now and then otherwise one day you'll completely overdo it.

At least thats the way I see it.

I have one every once in a while... I save some calories for when I want one. Just like Leighish said, just buy one so that you don't overdo it.

Trade it for that extra 20 minutes of exercise or something - or tell yourself that if you are good you can have one 2 days from now. I would definately have one but use the barter system! :-)

no foods should be off limits in your diet. If you enjoy slim jims add them in, in healthy amounts.

I know what you mean about slim jims. The ingrediants sound soooo gross, but tastes sooo good. At one time, I swear I could have lived on them!

I don't tell myself I can't have something, because then I'm more likely to want it. I also don't like using food as a reward system. Everything in moderation with balanced diet and exercise and you'll be fine.

Don't buy containers of them. Only allow yourself to buy them one at a time. That way if you want one, you can have one. ONE. If the container is there it's way way way too easy to eat 5 or 6!!

I'm not that way with slim jims, but I have my "trigger" foods and that's how I deal with them!

Thank you ladies! I wouldn't buy the containers, but hey I like to buy in bluk lol. Yeah the ingredients....not so amazing, but the taste...mmmmmmm. I am going to try changing to a better snack...any ideas on that?

I love them too - but I restrict them to road trips! I know when we go away for a weekend, I get to have them and that helps me avoid them on a daily basis. I only buy them at convenience stores on highways!

When I am craving something that badly, I let myself have it. I just don't overdo it. But if I don't allow myself to eat what I'm drooling for, I know I'll fall off the wagon 10 times worse shortly down the road.

i have no idea what a slim jim is either! I agree with the others, definately have one or at least some (could you half a slim jim?) and maybe use it as a reward. I usually try to leave myself some room calorie wise at the end of the day just incase i get the munchies for something like that!

i looked slim jims up on the daily plate, if you have beef jerky teriyaki instead of slim jims original you save about 130 calories. Dont know if thats an option for you, but it might be worth looking into

slim jims are probably the most tasty snack I have ever stumbled apon. They are like beef jerky, but more than just the beef and they are spicy. they make my mouth water just thinking about them.....ahhhh
