Default Reasons why I need to lose weight!

Im feeling really unmotivated and cant keep away from the chocolate! So i thought i would make me a list of all the reasons why i need to keep being good, eating healthy, and losing weight!

- Eating lotsa fruit and veges makes my skin glow beautifully!
- When I am eating well I feel good about myself and in control.
- Losing weight makes me prettier!
- I will be able to wear tight skirts (like i wear now) and show off a taught, toned, pert behind with a tiny waist!
- One word: Abs!
- Short Skirts will be my friend!
- I will look sexcellent naked...
- My itsi-bitsi-tittis will look in proportion!
- Eating chocolate, chips and junk makesme feel like junk!
- Eating good food makes me feel gooood
- Exercise makes me feel fit and strong.
- If I keep being good I will begin to see even more definition - hips bones, collar bones..all those things i haven't seen before!
- I NEED to run, the cardio is the only thing that can and will make me lean in the thighs. It IS possible!
- There is no better time than now! I will NOT have my mothers weight demons, I will not be the fat mum at school. I will be slim and healthy for the rest of my life! It starts now!

Please share your lists! That way we can all share! Im going to write mine out and read it every morning!

I uploaded some photos that i look at to inspire me

First one is me a few months back at my high weight i think...(or around about) those photos were the ones that inspired me to startdoing something about my weight before it got too out of control.

The second one is just my face...the loss in my face is incredible! And its only 20pounds! Its funny i haven't noticed how much the difference is until i compare photos!

Sorry its so huge! I cant make it smaller!

Wow! I love this thread you started...great idea. Well, here it goes:

1. When I look good, I feel good and visa versa;

2. I will finally be able to fit in all my fabulous size 6 clothes...YEAH!;

3. When I'm thin...I feel more in control;

4. When I'm thin...my self-esteem gets better

5. I look really hot when I'm a size 6!

6. When I'm thin...I have more energy and am lighter on my feet

7. When I'm thin...I sleep better

8. When I'm thin...sex is phenominal!!! pornstars have nothing on me!

9. When I eat healthy...I am healthy!

10. When I'm thin...I'm more involved in daughters/grandkids activites (i.e., going to the park, bowling, activites)

Here are my reasons:

- I want to be healthier and look healthier!
- I want to feel strong! And I want to see some muscle tone someday!
- I want to gain more confidence before I go back to school.
- Exercise makes me happier, and I want to stay happy!
- People are more willing to listen to their doctors about healthy habits when their doctor is healthy-looking too. So taking care of myself may help me better take care of future patients.
- I want to wear cute spring/summer dresses and look good
- I want to feel sexy and flirty while enjoying my youth. <3 <3
- I want to love the mirror!
- I want to go for runs on beautiful days and not feel self conscious or funny about it.
- I want to go on adventurous vacations (hiking, canoing, mountain treks, etc)

-My confidence level would go up...in high school I was a push over. The reason is because I was scared to have people hate me because I thought they could always make fun of my fatness.
-I've never been thin. Everyone in my family is thin and I want to not be the fly in the glass of milk anymore.
-I want to prove something to myself and to prove to the other people who treated me like ****. (I forgot her name but she said "everything she learned in life was because she was fat"). I agree with her. You learn how people treat other people because of what they look like instead of whats on the inside.
-I want to be able to be in a relationship. I was in one but I had to let him go because I was dealing with a lot of personal issues and I didn't want him to bother himself with it. You can't love someone unless you learn to love yourself first. Right now I'm working on the loving myself part.
- I want to be able to feel sexy and attractive when I go out with my friends instead of being the "fat" one.
- I want to be able to look in the mirror and not hate the person that I see.
- I want to go to the beach without worrying about what I look like in my swimsuit.
- I want to be able to walk upstairs to my room without feeling like I jogged a mile.
- I want to be able to go to family functions without being embarrassed of myself.
-In all I just want to stop hating myself

okay so reasons i want to lose weight:
1. to be healthier
2. to have a good self esteem
3. to look damn good, and sexy too
Breath me, i totally can relate to not wanting to be the "fat one" when i go out with friends. my friends are not even thin, but they are thinner than me, and it definitely makes me feel insecure. it's not their fault at all.however, i just dont want to feel like im the fat one, i want to feel like i hold my own when we all go out.

Wow!!! Your goals are so motivating...they actually completely mirror my 21 yr old daughter...every last word!

Honestly, I really can't say that I can totally identify with what you've gone through...as I was always the thin, tall, slinky one and my weight fluctuates 20-30 lbs....but you know how we carry our weight. However, you move me...cuz my daughter is almost 22 yrs old and reading your post, was like reading her mind! It hurts me more when she hurts like this...than it would if it were me!

People can be f*cked up!! Your certainly right about that. Maybe it's good that you can see people for who they really are...cuz when you get that bangin a$$ Beyonce body..you'll make wise choices for friends/mate.

You sound like you are determined and you've come to a very good forum for support....so....you're on your way!

What diet plan (if any specific one) are you following? I'm on Atkins since 1/5/08...it's been pretty easy to follow and I'm loosing a sh*tload of weight...

Writing the list motivated me more and I got out a lot of frustration.

Kisskiss my friends aren't paper thin too. I also do feel insecure going anywhere with them. good luck and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one feeling or going through these things

bambifox I am really motivated right now. I made the choice to start the diet back in September but I failed. Just lately the diet thing is really hitting me. It gets harder as you get older. Especially now since I'm legal (in Toronto Canada the legal age to go clubbing or to buy alcohol is 19) and I go out more with my friends. Right now I'm doing the fat smash diet. To be honest I'm not really happy with it but I want to at least say that I tried. I don't want to quit that easily. The Atkins diet sounds interesting. If the fat smash doesn't work out for me I think I'll give it a try.

I've always been an observer and I notice how people in general view and treat people that are overweight.

Again..thanks for all the support

Breath - You want to be happy with your way of eating...so, if you find the "Fat Smash" diet is not right for you...try Atkins, Southbeach, etc., etc. and stay determined....you will reach your goal!

I like Atkins cuz it fits my lifestyle. I've always like things that are high in fat! I love fat! Can't live without it! On Atkins...you can have as much fat as you want...like clam chowder...yes!...like barbequed spare ribs...yes! (low-carb sauce, of course)...like cheese...yes!, and so on... Basically, you just cut out the sugar, refined carbs (pasta, rice, bread, etc.). Here's a basic Atkins daily menu:

Breakfast: - Bacon/Ham/Sausage & eggs, coffee or tea (unsweetened or splenda)
Snack: - Cheese or couple of deviled eggs
Lunch: - A nice salad with all the fixins' and some grilled chicken with creamy full fat..yes...blue cheese dressing
mid afternoon - small salad or veggies or 1-2 pieces of sugar free chocolate peppermint patty
dinner - hot vegetables with butter, heavy whipping cream, whatever you like and Steak, chicken, fish, whatever kind of meat you want...
....that's it...no portion control, no calorie counting, etc....but warning* you must read the labels and count your carbs when you begin cuz they can sneak up on you and destroy your efforts. The only way you can eat this good and lose weight so fast is to stay at 20 grams or less carbs for 1st two weeks. After that, you can slowly start adding fruits, nuts, legumes. Best thing if you decide to give it a try, buy the book "Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution".

Whatever you decide...hang in there...I see you making it...great attitude! Looking forward to seeing you around. Joyce
