Kier, I had a similar experience yesterday--at work where my choices are pretty limited. I craved something to CRUNCH! I thought what I could get & decided that peanuts would be okay--They crunch & have protein! I went to the vending machine & the darn thing ate the change I had & didn't give me anything. All I had left were $5 & $20 bills, so dug in my desk drawer to find I had a 100 calorie mini bag of popcorn--so popped it and CRUNCHED on that. Not as much protein, but definitely less calories.
