Default New Here

I think I found my home I was searchin all over this place finding a place I'll fit best (not that i can't post on other threads of course)...so far I'd like to congratulate Goddess Jessica...bring those Alternachick vibes this way pleeeeeeeeeeeease...

I'm still trying to remember all I read so please know I'm interested in the current topics, but thought I'd introduce myself...

My name's Andrea, but people call me Ferret...I live in Minnesota with my boyfriend Andrew...we're moving back to my hometown in July (southern mn)...I work as a preschool teacher at a learning center right now (but desperately need to find a new job in my hometown...so that's where the vibes come in )

I'd list all my likes but yeah you people have lives too...you can check out my website if you want but i don't know if i can post it (I know they don't like that in some forums) so just let me know if you want to check it out...i spend a lot of time on a graphics forum too and do my own graphics...i'm looking forward to getting to know you all

Goddess Jessica-
well basically i just go with what works and when it stops working i give myself a break and then switch stuff around til it works again...so frustrating...i actually have lost around 40 lbs since the beginning of the year...I had actually lost about 60 lbs back in the summer of '03 and ended up gaining around 20 back...I'm hoping this time I'll stick with it long enough that I won't have to yo-yo anymore...

some of the things that are key to working for me personally...water...as much as i can drink...I try to drink as much as possible before eating...i really only try to give myself one carb snack a day (maybe two) the rest are all fresh vegetables and fruit...I'm hopin back on slim fast for a bit to change it up for myself, but if it's not that i just keep in mind how many calories i've got going in...sometimes i count when i feel the need, but when i get frustrated with it, i back off and let myself naturally monitor...keeping active with things helps a lot cause i know a lot of my heavy eating is emotional or boredom...and for exercise i do a quick 10 min pilates during weekday mornings to get myself going (plus if i am too busy to do anymore during the day it's better than no exercise at all) and then later on i try to do at least 20-30 min of something else...a lot of yoga too...some kickboxing and exercise ball...lifting weights...walking...dancing...anything that i can tell is helping and is keeping me active...

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh why does it always have to be so complicated LOL...

Congatulations on your weightloss ferret - you are doing awesome

It is still very hot and humid here but a bunch of my girlfriends and I went out on Saturday night for dinner and drinks - had a blast! Blew all my flexpoints of course but it was well worth it! Then I took my parents on a tour of Chinatown on Sunday morning and they had a ball.

I am experimenting with some recipes this week and bought Chinese long beans and fresh lemongrass - here goes

Welcome Ferret!

Hi chicks! Sorry for the long absence but last week was the work week from ****. It has quieted down, hopefully it will stay that way! It is hot and humid here, and I don't want to do ANYTHING!

Good luck with the cooking Mauvais!

Congrats Jessica!

Tiki - what an idiot. I can't believe he could say something that stupid, especially in from of HR.

Hello Ellis!

Hi all,

Cool that you joined us Ferret. And way cool on your weight loss. Keep up the good work. This Saturday, myself and 3 of my girlfriends are going to this EXCLUSIVE restaurant and then to the grand opening of a new martini bar. My friends are all really beautiful and really stylish so I have to find something to wear, do something to my hair, nails, etc. The bad thing is that I have cheer practice til 8PM each night so I have to do all of this and pull it together on Saturday. I will be a basket case by Saturday I'm sure. It takes me about 3 hours to do my hair alone, without trying to get everything else together and I refuse to do my hair Friday night cause I am GOING TO THE GYM on Saturday, regardless of what else is planned.

Send me good shopping vibes, cause I am gonna need em!

Tiki.

Hi girls, some of you might remember me. Here I am plugging away at this again. I am doing old fashioned calorie counting and walking and free weights this time around. Hopefully it will be long term. I have done it before, I can do it again!

Hi Flower, Glad you are back!

The dinner went well. I am small enough to wear and look nice in a halter back dress, so that's what I ended up wearing. I ate very lite all day and then only ate 1/3 of my portions at dinner (except of course, dessert )

It was nice being out with the girls!
