Hi Ladies..

I'm having a good day....third one is a row after my weekend "blowout". Of the 5 pounds I gained over the weekend, as of this morning, I have gotten rid of 3 1/2 of it. I hope by this weekend I will be back where I was and then will have only lost a week of my progress. I have been faithful to my treadmill every day this week, clocking in a daily 3 miles under an hour.

I think I may have given this hint before but it's worth repeating: ECLIPSE Chewing Gum...I chew it all day long and it really suppresses my appetite. I think it is due to the strong mint flavor...in your mouth and in your stomach. Mint calms the stomach and I swear by it...and this particular brand seems to last for HOURS. As long as I have a piece in my mouth, I can turn away from anything.

I'll write more later this evening.

Woo Woo, Ellis, good job at WW! You go! :dancer:

Thanks for the cheers, Tljl! :D

Virginia, haven't read you in a bit - are you still on the wagon smoking-wise? Don't be afraid to post if you're not: I'm sure there are many here who know how difficult quitting can be, and we'll commiserate!

Well, I'm off to the doc to see if losing 13 pounds since I was there last has done anything for my BP. Hope so!

We're having my SIL and her SO over for supper tonight - I'm making homemade mu shu chicken (made whole wheat mandarin pancakes the other night) and they'll bring some sort of ridiculously rich dessert. The dinner is OP, but I'll have to be careful with what they bring! It's usually large and chocolate. I haven't had too many splurges this week, so I'm going to have a small piece. And then back OP tomorrow. I'm down another pound today, so I'm closer to my goal than I expected I would be, woo hoo!

Take care everyone, have lovely weekends! We're expecting more snow here, yay, sledding!

Daily Update.

Hi All,
I have been having good days this week. Looks like very one else it, too. I have been faithful with treadmilling daily, which is a HUGE improvement for me as I struggled every day to getting on the darn thing! (We have a love/hate relationship). Sticking a TV in front of it did a wonder of good as now I can just "zone out". I have recovered from my blowout weekend and am back to 7pounds lost (which is where I was BEFORE I fell off the wagon!!) Lesson learned: A week lost...it just wasn't worth the 15 minutes here and the 15 minutes there of junk food. At least I have this experience to recall the next time I think I will just blow a few days!!!
I am now spending idle time thinking about what I will reward myself with at the end of the month when I make my challenge....which I WILL do!
What will each of YOU reward yourselves with at the end of the month??

Thanks, Solar! :)
Hey, how was the BP check?

ECLIPSE Chewing Gum, Sweet Pea? I wonder if we have that up here. Mauvais, have you heard of it?
SweetPea, how about it we start a new thread for "reward suggestions"? I'll go and do it now...

Wow, KnittinKitten, you're doing great! You go, girl!! :hat:

I've sort of fallen off the wagon the last couple of days. Isn't it STUPID how you lose a bit and then think, "Oh, I can eat what I want, now!" Like a reward. SweetPea, I'm going to start that thread RIGHT NOW!!

tikanique 01-24-2005 09:56 AM

I knew yesterday that I have been doing the right thing when my size 12 hip-huggers (bought them right after Christmas and they were a smidge to small) start falling off. Yippeee!!!!

Tiki.

Tiki, Knittin'Kitten - Way to GO! That's something to be proud of!

I'm back on the wagon for real today. Over the weekend I had what Ellis was describing, "I'm down pretty far, I can relax a little" - itis. Three pounds of it! And a foot of snow coming down adding to my hibernating instinct didn't help. Either way, it's baked chicken and veggies for supper tonight, salad and low fat refried beans for lunch. I've been drinking lots of water so far, and I'm feeling good.

BP check was good on Friday, I was down to "normal" range, whereas even with meds I'm usually in the "slightly elevated" range in the docs office; white coat syndrome, I guess. My doc is tinkering with my scrips because some of what I'm taking is not okay for being on the baby train.

That's where I'm at. Dentrassi, I'll spend a little time posting the Mu Shu recipe in the SBD Phase II recipe section. It's pretty labor-intensive, but if you enjoy cooking from scratch, this makes a fun company dinner.

Ciao, all! I'm trying to be actually productive at work today, instead of frittering my afternoon reading all our posts!

CONGRATULATIONS TIKI, SOLAR, MAUVAIS AND KNITTINKITTEN!!!!!

Solar-THANKS! I do like to cook (for FUN, the day to day drag gets pretty boring though!!!) and I LOVE Mu Shu.

Karen-WELCOME AND CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Ellis-You have been doing GREAT! Don't back down now!! (And PLEASE come here and kick me in the ***!!!)

ellis 01-24-2005 05:03 PM

Thanks, Den. :)
Okay, I am officially KICKING YOU IN THE ***!!
Come on, girl!! You've got the bike! I've got the treadmill! Go and put some freakin' workout wear on NOW, so that you'll be ready when you've got 10 minutes to spare!
DON'T tell me you can't spare 10 minutes tonight!!
I've just put on my stretchy pants, and am about to put on my running shoes.
YOU DO THE SAME!! HEAR ME!?!? :drill: :drill:

mauvaisroux 01-25-2005 10:53 AM

That is a great idea ellis! If you are bumming around the house or doing some housework why not do it in your workout gear? That way you can just hop on the treadmill for 10 to 15 minutes and get yourself started.

I wish I had some room for indoor exercise gear. I tend to fall into the trap of not wanting to work out in the winter. Just no motivation. Thank goodness I force myself to sign up for dance classes so I am motivated to go by not wasting my money

ellis 01-25-2005 11:21 AM

Just hop over the fence, Mauvais, and you can use mine!
